[Bug 886983] Re: properties panel should not show SELinux context information

2012-02-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package nautilus - 1:3.3.4-0ubuntu2

---
nautilus (1:3.3.4-0ubuntu2) precise; urgency=low

  * Disable selinux support. On Ubuntu, we ship AppArmor by default, and
selinux support adds a useless and technical entry to the properties
panel. (LP: #886983)

Many thanks for the bug report and the detailed instructions how to reproduce
it -- the issue still persists on Ubuntu Precise. The crash has already been
reported as bug #809609, I'm therefore marking this bug as a duplicate. I added
your instructions to that bug.

[Bug 809609] Re: gedit crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_is_a()

2012-02-05 Thread Marcel Stimberg
The crash is reproducible on Precise (see my duplicate bug report #927150) -- I
followed the instructions provided by fabrg in bug #926858:
Steps to reproduce:

1. Open gedit and display File Browser (side panel)
2. Open a structure folder with some folders and files (i suggest you /home/),
and expand some folder till you see some files, like
-- /afolder/
afile
afile
-- /afolder/
afile
afile
afile
3. click refresh view button
4. the structure should collapse automaticaly. if not, try to refresh again
untill it does. (probally gedit will crash)
5. when the folder collapse, expand it again.
6. repeat steps 3 to 5 till gedit crashes.

I had to repeat steps 3-5 quite a few times but in the end gedit crashed
when I clicked on the expand arrow for a directory.

Hi all, here is a ppa :

https://launchpad.net/~eric-seigne/+archive/lucid-poppler-cairo

The solution is:
* backport pixman 0.20 from natty
* backport cairo from natty + changes on debian/control to break depends on
specific versions of packages not available in lucid
* backport poppler from natty + changes on debian/control to break depends on

[Bug 787475] Re: Rhythmbox [0.12.8] [0.12.5] Not Fetching Album Information From MusicBrainz

2012-02-05 Thread Ralph Hyre
Launcpad generally needs some attention- I was getting segmentation
faults until I reinstalled, though it didn't improve MusicBrainz
lookups.

I understand why more a more flexible lookup system like MusicBrainz is
needed, but not at the expense of perceived stability. A more detailed
error message, with options to retry the lookup if a 404 error is
returned, should be provided

I can reproduce this on my Thinkpad when the BIOS is set to Thinkpad
NumLock - Independent (which is the default setting).

I can reproduce this with gtk3-demo and policykit authentication
dialogs. It needs to be fixed in gtk+3.0.

I suggest we turn off the numlock warning altogether in gtk+3.0.

i believe this is the same bug affecting me. here's a clue. evolution

you determine if it's the same problem you're having? if so, we've
narrowed it down. running from shell here is the error i get. it was the
duplicate bit that clued me in and my testing shows that the crash
occurs only for duplicates as i described.

[Bug 551480] Re: pdf: wrong proportions and margins

2012-02-05 Thread twipley
[11.10] -- I too am suffering from this white-margins, improper-scaling
problem.

Printing a PDF file through the Evince document viewer may by default
add white margins both on top and bottom and on both sides. (I have been
able to reproduce this issue using PDF files created through the
LibreOffice PDF-file export, for it to be noted.)

One method to fix the issue -- and it seems to work for all cases in
which a PDF file gets printed with too-wide margins, whether having or
not been outputted through LibreOffice -- is to enable select page size
using document page size by default.

That way, it seems to me, PDF files would get printed the way they
really were intended to be printed.

Should it not, in that case, be best for that parameter to be selected
in Evince right out of the box?

[Bug 927310] [NEW] Crashes Unity/GNOME on opening large JPG

Public bug reported:

1. Download NASA's new image of the Earth (16 MB) from here:

I don't know what's happening.

It all started because alacarte wouldn't work, from the terminal, or

after reinstalling ubuntu-desktop et-al, I got the error that I'm
sending attached.
