[Bug 878836] Re: Unity Greeter - Use Unity Greeter to fulfil lock screen as well as login functions
Was just about to upload the gnome-screensaver fix and then I realised it doesn't work in this case: When you switch users (e.g. to guest) indicator-session locks the screen then does the switch. With this change this causes lightdm to both start a greeter and a new session. I think the correct fix is for indicator-session to not attempt the lock when running under lightdm and get the lightdm daemon to always lock sessions when switching away from them. ** Also affects: indicator-session Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-screensaver in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/878836 Title: Unity Greeter - Use Unity Greeter to fulfil lock screen as well as login functions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ayatana-design/+bug/878836/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 846378] Re: Missing Firefox, Trash and Show Desktop icon
I think I'll add the Show Desktop button by default since it's rather useful (of course, it does the same as Ctrl+Alt+D). I don't think the Trash icon is useful for most people by default. Adding a Help button isn't very useful since Help would either describe Unity or GNOME Shell which are dramatically different than GNOME panel. [Bug 928762] Re: "Theme" and "Launcher" labels are hundreds of pixels away from their controls
Right-aligned labels would solve this specific problem by setting them nearer to its controls, as seen in the wireframe I'm attaching. But the solution arises other problems: the 'Background' label seems out of place, and the 'Launcher icon size' option seems to belong more in the 'Launcher' tab[1] (in the current implementation it's named 'Behavior'). [Bug 890586] Re: Right-clicking selected files appears to clear selection
Workaround learned from bug 912446 e.g. select files with ctrl+left mouse, make sure the right click to access context menu hits a file name instead of empty space, then it'll be displayed. Usability pain happened more than once when a file name is short and already selected but right click hits only µm near the file name there will be no related context menu. Make a newbie survey how many know which shortcuts to use instead.
