[Bug 982616] Re: gnome classic workspace switcher settings not sticky

2012-06-05 Thread Jochen Fahrner
I have the same problem, and also the one I described here:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1008022

This happens only with Compiz, not with Metacity (Gnome classic no
effects)

[Bug 1008865] [NEW] Cannot play impossibly difficult gnomine games

2012-06-05 Thread Dale Maggee
Public bug reported:

Since upgrading to 12.04, I cannot play my favourite game.

I usually play gnomine with a grid of 69 X 42 squares with 666 mines (I
call this 'bastard mode').

Since upgrading to 12.04, the updated gnomine does not allow resizing.
As such, bastard mode is far far bigger than my screen is likely to ever
be.

Furthermore, the new startup interface makes my life more difficult, as
I need to re-enter the specs for bastard mode every time I want to play,
as opposed to how it used to be where it just started a new game with
the previous settings.

How this can be fixed:
- reinstate resizing of the gnomine window.
- pre-populate the 'custom' settings with the last-played game settings (or add
a 'play again' option).

** Affects: gnome-games (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1008539] Re: Wrong volume binding when connecting bluetooth speakers

2012-06-05 Thread Andrei
Solutions:

By editing the /etc/pulse/default.pa we can load the pulseaudio module
module-switch-on-connect to autoconnect to an audio sink as soon as it
is presented to the pulseaudio sound server. We need to insert the
following line

load-module module-switch-on-connect

-
or
-

stream2ip

or

bt-autoconnect

But still, right after connecting, the volume returned to the adapter is very
loud at first; after I move the volume slider even a bit from its current
location, then the volume corrects itself suddenly to it's ACTUAL position.
This is so messed up in so many ways I can't even try to imagine the back-end
of this all wreckage Just freaking do something... it's quite embarrassing.

[Bug 1008893] Crash report cannot be processed

2012-06-05 Thread Apport retracing service
Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the
developers failed (it does not generate a useful symbolic stack trace). This
might be caused by some outdated packages which were installed on your system
at the time of the report:

gsettings-desktop-schemas version 3.4.2-0ubuntu1 required, but
3.5.2-0ubuntu1 is available

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

Thank you for your understanding, and sorry for the inconvenience!

[Bug 1007749] Re: gcalctool crashes on startup in valuta mode

2012-06-05 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or
challenging to deal with as a .crash file. Please follow these
instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can
be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable
apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the
crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with
'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is
the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed
to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug
/var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will
automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more
efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.

[Bug 878198] Re: Difficult to grab window borders in unity-2d

2012-06-05 Thread madbiologist
Re comment #30:

This is off topic for this bug report, so I'll keep it brief.

You can use 3D - you just don't know it yet :) The LLVMpipe driver uses
the LLVM compiler to run 3D graphics calculations on the CPU. Fedora
Linux is already using this as a fallback when GPU 3D support is not
available. Google LLVMpipe if you want to know more.

See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

I've tried recreating this bug with Precise and was unable to, given the
information you've provided. Please upgrade to the latest version and
re-test. If the bug is still reproducible, please provide terminal
output of opening an .mkv using totem command in terminal.

Do feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1008913] Re: package gnome-disk-utility 2.32.1-0ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: subprocess dpkg-deb --control returned error exit status 2

2012-06-05 Thread Ubuntu Foundation's Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that there was an error on your system when
trying to install a particular package. Please execute the following
command, as it will clear your package cache, in a terminal:

sudo apt-get clean

Then try performing the update again. This will likely resolve your
issue, but the failure could be caused by filesystem or memory
corruption. So please also run a fsck on your filesystem(s) and a
memory test. Thanks in advance!

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

2012-06-05 Thread Chris
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1002952 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002952

The same is needed for the Jabra / GN Netcom DECT Phone + USB Sound
Headset series:

Add

GN 9350 999

to /usr/share/alsa/cards/USB-Audio.conf

to the USB-Audio.pcm.iec958_device { ... } section and reboot.

I had wired mouse behaviour. Not left click anymore

would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a

[Bug 945987] Re: No Settings are available in Preferred format, only preset defaults are used

2012-06-05 Thread terakin
I confirmed this phenomena on 12.04 amd64. The preference button at
Sound Juicer does not appear. I tried some workaround introduced on the
Net (such as https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=713721 ) but
the thing did not go better. Very curiously, another software, goobox (I
had to install this because of profile selection) seems working,
appearing profile selection button and selection itself.

[Bug 1009067] [NEW] Wacom Graphics Tablet slightly dominates the applet overview screen

2012-06-05 Thread wvengen
Public bug reported:

The All Settings page of System Settings generally has short, to-the-point
names like Appearance, Privacy, Sound, etc. There are some that are
longer, like Mouse and Touchpad, Universal Access and Language Support.
One of the items seems to grab the attention, namely Wacom Graphics Tablet.
It is the only item which takes up three lines for the text label (on the
desktops I've encountered). Visually, it is the last item of the set, which
helps in attracting attention.
Since the name Wacom does not seem to add much clue to distinguish what to
choose (Graphics Tablet, or even Tablet may suffice), it would be better to
drop that. This would clean up the user-interface here.

** Affects: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
