Re: [Bug 646798] Re: eog window size exceeds screen height

2012-07-03 Thread Nemes Ioan Sorin
...hmm I was thinking that for GNOME 3 technology they will improve
the toolkit, at least the basic functionality of the window layers ;)
Should be trivial to fix such problem in a windows 32/64 environment
but seems that is impossible with GNU tools ;)
now I'm really curios if EOG developers can fix this long standing
bug, which really make me to stop using EOG.

[Bug 985975] Re: [wacom]: won't calibrate X220t

2012-07-03 Thread Richard Brown
@Timo: I couldn't install the .deb due to dependency issues (it also
wanted a newer version of libwacom-common, and when I tried to install
that there were further problems). Was I doing it wrong?

I tried installed Alpha 2 on a new partition and updating it to test it
that way, but Alpha 2 currently doesn't recognise the hardware at all.
So jury is still out as to whether this will work or not.

[Bug 1020759] [NEW] /run/media is an unnecessary divergence from the FHS

2012-07-03 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug by Steve Langasek (vorlon):

The FHS specifies that /media should be used as the mountpoint for
removeable media. The udisks2 change to use /run/media instead is an
unwarranted divergence from the standard and from existing practice,
violating the expectations of experienced users and possibly breaking
user scripts / symlinks.

Please fix udisks to move its mounts back to /media.

[Bug 1015820] Re: appindicator does not use custom icon

2012-07-03 Thread Facundo Batista
It result that doesn't matter if the application can find the icon,
because the systray is *other* app.

But setting the icon theme path (globally or for the indicator), using a
*full path*, works.

I finally did:

ind = appindicator.Indicator.new("example", "",
 appindicator.IndicatorCategory.APPLICATION_STATUS)
ind.set_icon_theme_path("/home/facundo/temp/bugappind/")
ind.set_icon("nice-test-icon")

Marking this as invalid.

[Bug 751803] Re: GNOME Terminal window initially opens at 80x23

2012-07-03 Thread Red Five
It appears to me that gnome-terminal is trying to maintain the size of
the window, no matter the number of lines within the terminal or how
many lines the menu bar removes from the terminal. When the window first
opens, it looks like it's 80x24, but then the menu bar appears and
knocks off 1 or 2 lines.

[Bug 221112] Re: Can't use space bar in search bar when using french alternative keyboard

2012-07-03 Thread Emmanuel Castro
After discussions about the bug #1013881, it seems that the right way to solve
this bug is to change the line 128 of symbol/fr
include "nbsp(level4nl)"
by
include "nbsp(level4n)"

For an unknown reason, the line «include "nbsp(level4nl)"» produces the
bug of Rhythmbox.

This way, we can get :
– Right Ctrl works
– Rhythmbox Ctrl-Space works
– Nbsp is available (on level 4)

[Bug 1020716] [NEW] apport does not report rhythmbox crash

2012-07-03 Thread David Bensimon
Public bug reported:

Unfortunately, apport does not report rhythmbox crash. If Rhythmbox
crashes, you will see the apport GUI offerring you to report a bug. Upon
accepting to report the crash, nothing happens. The crash data stays in
/var/log crash but there is no summary of a bug to be reported and
Launchpad does not open up in the browser.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Open rhythmbox
2) Induce crash of rhythmbox by using:
$ kill -SEGV

What happens:
Apport GUI asks if you would like to report the issue. Upon accepting, nothing
happens.

Expected:
I expect being able to create a bug report from a crash. I am basing myself on
previous experience with Apport and with documentation which states:
Apport is a system which
intercepts crashes right when they happen the first time,
gathers potentially useful information about the crash and the OS environment,
...
presents a UI that informs the user about the crash and instructs them on how
to proceed,
...
If the user leaves the "Send error report" checkbox enabled, Apport uploads the
collected information to the bug tracking system. After that it opens the
packages' bug filing page with a sensible default bug title and leaves the rest
of bug filing process to the web UI.

This last part does not happen. Source: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Apport/

[Bug 294991] Re: SIP/Ekiga accounts don't store contacts

2012-07-03 Thread svaens
@Danielle,

tried this what you mentioned (regarding gnome-contacts), which sounded
like some sort of a solution (if not the solution most people probably
prefer);

While I am able to call out from empathy, on the SIP account (by manually
entering the phone number),
having the phone number in gnome-contacts and registering the SIP account as
usable for phone and mobile, didn't seem to work.
I click on the 'phone' icon in gnome contacts, and nothing at all happens.

Any idea what I can check, to troubleshoot this?

[Bug 1020657] [NEW] spinning mouse cursor when using gnome shell

2012-07-03 Thread frodo99
Public bug reported:

When using the gnome-shell desktop environment in Ubuntu (tested on
11.10 and 12.04) there is an annoying bug with nautilus regarding the
mouse cursor on nautilus startup.

When you start nautilus by clicking on the gnome-shell-icon the mouse
cursor will keep spinning for at least half a minute. (sometimes there
also is a spinning wheel on the top panel.

This happens only when you have nautilus handle the desktop.

I have found out when the bug occurs and when it does not:

Bug occurs when:

clicking the icon on the gnome-shell-panel
clicking on the icon of the gnome-extension (Frippery Panel Favorites)
clicking on the link to a subfolder of the homedirectory using the gnome-shell
extension All-in-one-Places
clicking on the notivication which appears when inserting a harddrive of some
kind

Bug does not occur when:

clicking on the link to the homedirectory using the gnome-shell extension
All-in-one-Places
clicking on a direct desktop icon to the home folder or any other folder
starting nautilus via terminal

I also tested this using the ubuntu server version (12.04) and installing the
hgnome shell manually without any unity files

This bug does not occur on Fedora or any other distribution using gnome-shell,
therefore I assume it must have something to do with Ubuntu and Nautilus.

[Bug 1016724] Re: Laptop brightness always reverts to maximum on 12.04

2012-07-03 Thread Jordon Bedwell
This bug affects all my G series and Envy series HP laptops, as well as
my Dell. They all either have an AMD APU (all my HP laptops) or an i5
(the Dell). We had the same problem back in 11.10. There is one thing
in common between all my laptops and that's that they all have 7 series
graphics, even my favorite (the A4 has discrete 7 series with 6 series
on the die.)

[Bug 1020473] [NEW] Empathy cannot open links anymore, "Unable to open URI"

2012-07-03 Thread Alexander
Public bug reported:

After some of latest updates (12.04 LTS), opening urls from Empathy
broke.

Clicking a link in conversation window only displays dialog "Unable to
open URI, Operation not supported":
http://www.foopics.com/showfull/0f0f1a5d5b07b87ea9bdce8067220383

I'm quite certain this worked fine before, and is not result of any
misconfiguration as as of this writing, this also happens on my friends
installation.

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 985065 ***

Confirmed for Hebrew/English combination.

Further, even if I remove the English (US) keyboard in the system
settings, the actual keyboard layout remains that of English. This point
may be a clue to localizing the bug. Seems as if the system settings
values are not propagated properly to the actual setup.

[Bug 1011265] Re: automatic mount options switch logic is backwards

2012-07-03 Thread dino99
here on quantal i386, the system itself re-add an entry about fd0 into
fstab, but this hardware does not exist.

But switching to OFF into g-d-u cant be validated: it start a loop and
never accept the OFF choice.
