[Bug 998445] Re: ComboBoxText does not work anymore
I've written a patch that fixes this. It's a one-line change, only changing which constructor is called - it was calling the one for ComboBox instead of ComboBoxText; from my log reading, that change was probably done accidentally during an API change. This patch is written on top of current git master, so should be easily upstreamable, but also works on top of the package currently in LMDE latest (3.2.0-1). (I tested that by adding the patch to debian/patches/series and rebuilding, which succeded, and the resulting package has this fixed.) ** Patch added: Simple patch that fixes the bug. https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/998445/+attachment/3270116/+files/0001-entry-Fix-the-ComboBoxText-construction-so-the-dropm.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to zenity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998445 Title: ComboBoxText does not work anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linuxmint/+bug/998445/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 775345] Re: USB headset not selectable in Output tab of Sound Preferences
I am glad to see this bug because I reached my end about 5 min ago. I have the exact behavior as is described above, i.e. usb headset and no devices listed in the input and output tabs of the sound manager, but I possibly have 2 added complications. No 1, I am running ubuntu precise (12.04) and No 2, I am running a ltsp version with the client needing to see the usb headset (We have a callcenter to which we will roll out this setup). I cannot sudo from the client as the server holds the user permissions, and the server does not reflect any pulseaudio processes, even if I chroot the image directory. I don't want to fluff the issue here, but if there is any help of any kind it will be one step further than I am now. My device registers as (dmesg): input: Micronas DASAN as /devices/pci:00/:00:1d.2/usb4/4-2/4-2:1.3/input/input5 generic-usb 0003:074D:3556.0002: input,hidraw0: USB HID v1.00 Device [Micronas DASAN] on usb-:00:1d.2-2/input3 lsusb: Bus 004 Device 003: ID 074d:3556 Micronas GmbH Composite USB-Device aplay -l: card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 0: AD198x Analog [AD198x Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 0: Intel [HDA Intel], device 1: AD198x Digital [AD198x Digital] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 uname -a: Linux ltsp51 3.2.0-29-generic #46-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jul 27 17:04:05 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-media in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775345 Title: USB headset not selectable in Output tab of Sound Preferences To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-media/+bug/775345/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1039476] [NEW] gtk_menu_new_from_model doesn't support custom menu items
You have been subscribed to a public bug: indicator-messages is the first indicator that uses GMenuModel instead of Dbusmenu to send its menus to the panel. Its panel plugin uses gtk_menu_new_from_model to create a GtkMenu widget from a GMenuModel. Most of the menu items in the messaging menu are custom widgets (to show icons, message counts, and the application-is-running triangles). However, gtk_menu_new_from_model always creates GtkCheckMenuItems. The attached patch solves this problem by introducing a new menu item attribute (x-canonical-type). The value of this attribute should be a valid GType name (as passed to g_type_from_name). An instance of this type is created to represent the menu item if the type is a subclass of GtkMenuItem and it has these two properties: - menu-item: a GMenuItem from which to build the item - action-group: a GActionGroup which contains the action for this menu item indicator-messages already depends on this patch and is a first test- case for this API. The patch doesn't introduce new public functions. x-canonical-type should be considered private for now. ** Affects: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Assignee: Lars Uebernickel (larsu) Status: Fix Committed -- gtk_menu_new_from_model doesn't support custom menu items https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1039476 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+3.0 in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1039506] [NEW] Gnome does not properly detect battery

@ Kate Stewart, I notice just a couple of security updates this AM, along with some 'cups' updates, so I'm wondering what the plan is? [Bug 382167] Re: LCD backlight flickers when adjusting it and when the system is idle
I have the same issue on Ubuntu 12.04 with KDE 4:4.8.4a-0ubuntu0.2: Sometimes the screen becomes very bright and after a while the backlight starts to flicker and then switches minimum brightness (as configured in the power management settings). Also when I use the brightness keys (Fn+Up/Dn), the backlight will often just start to flicker instead of switching to the intended brightness. Sometimes it just allows to toggle minimum/maximum brightness, but skips all steps in between. The machine is a Samsung N140 with an Intel 945GSE graphics chipset. [Bug 844003] Re: xchat-gnome crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_clipboard_set_contents()
I can't seems to reproduce this when clicking around try to select text over and over again in the chat scrolling window. Is there some detail I'm missing to be able to reproduce this bug? Looking at the stack trace, disassembly/registers and the gtk code for that version, seems to me like the issue is the use of gtk_clipboard_get() to get the clipboard to pass to gtk_clipboard_set_text() in xtext.c. It would appear as though the widget window can't be determined, not sure why. In xchat (not xchat-gnome) similar code, and elsewhere in xchat-gnome, looks like gtk_widget_get_clipboard() is used instead. Maybe it would be sufficient to replace the gtk_clipboard_get() call with this to solve the issue. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to xchat-gnome in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844003 Title: xchat-gnome crashed with SIGSEGV in gtk_clipboard_set_contents() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xchat-gnome/+bug/844003/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 985119] Re: [soundnua]: doesn't offer 'Analogue stereo Output' option
In current version of sound settings dialog (gnome-control-center 3.4.2-0ubuntu0.4) there is no way at all to set the sound card profile (see screenshot). Maybe it is a PEBKAC, but I really cannot guess how to set the 'Analogue stereo output' profile, so to completely disable the internal sound card input. It is important to me as it seems to be the only way to have an USB microphone (like a webcam one) working as plugged in. Without this workaround, at the moment one has to set the USB mic as default source at each login (a no go for my parents... = audio chat screwed up). rantOf course, in gnome-shell everything works properly with the default sound settings menu. It is good to keep things simple, it is better keep them working./rant ** Attachment added: audio-settings-dialog.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/985119/+attachment/3270553/+files/audio-settings-dialog.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/985119 Title: [soundnua]: doesn't offer 'Analogue stereo Output' option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/985119/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 930830] Re: NotifyOSD does not notify when Airplane Mode is enabled/disabled
There is no notification for this because you should be getting notified of a connection being disconnected in that case. Regardless, the whole concept of Airplane mode there (I'll assume it's in the control center), need to be removed altogether. It has nothing to do with any kind of airplane mode, is confusing, and just plain doesn't do anything useful since it only disables wireless, not bluetooth. Reassigning to gnome-control-center since there is no actual mention of airplane mode in network-manager at all; we should really remove this and clean this up so people don't get mislead by that text. ** Package changed: network-manager (Ubuntu) = gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium ** Changed in: gnome-control-center (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Triaged ** Summary changed: - NotifyOSD does not notify when Airplane Mode is enabled/disabled + Airplane mode doesn't notify and only disables wifi. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930830 Title: Airplane mode doesn't notify and only disables wifi. [Bug 398687] Re: Gnome shutdown dialog timeout cannot be adjusted
I have Ubuntu installed on a Home Theater PC (HTPC) / home file server but frequently have the video switched to a different component. I do not have a keyboard nearby at the time. I turn off the HTPC by pushing the power button on the front of the computer. This triggers the 60 second delay dialog. Before I go to bed at night I would expect to be able to push the power button and shutdown the computer. Instead, I hit the button and then have to wait to see what happens. Or, it makes me switch video input on the TV, then walk across to grab the wireless keyboard, then confirm that I really wanted to shutdown. Computers are not always used by everyone in the same way. I do not see any harm in a configurable timeout value. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398687 Title: Gnome shutdown dialog timeout cannot be adjusted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/398687/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
