[Bug 1010349] Re: Evolution address book inaccessible without killing one time "e-addressbook-factory"
Same issue in 12.04, new install. For me, e-addressbook-factory was not running after I quit evolution. I re-started evolution, killed e-addressbook-factory while evolution was running and then it appeared after I exited evolution. At the moment, all is working as expected. [Bug 1042075] [NEW] the longer epiphany works the more memory it consumes (a memory leak?)
Public bug reported: I'm concerned with how much memory is used in my Ubuntu 12.04 system on Toshiba AC100 because there is little RAM. Epiphany works quite fast on my system, but I have noticed that a lot of memory was consumed after I left Gmail open in Epiphany over a night. Perhaps, there is a memory leak? So, I made an observation over Epiphany's memory consumption (with a simple script that printed how much memory the processes consume every 5 minutes -- https://gitorious.org/ps-memstat/ps- memstat/blobs/epiphany/ac100-second-longer/ps-memstat or http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~imz/epiphany-browser/ps-memstat- data/view/head:/ps-memstat -- it runs "ps"): after Epiphany launched, I opened Gmail in it (the main page, with the index of my messages) and didn't touch it for about a day. The data of my observations are saved in https://gitorious.org/ps- memstat/ps-memstat/blobs/epiphany/ac100-second-longer/ps-memstat- epiphany.out . (They also should be visible in https://code.launchpad.net/~imz/epiphany-browser/ps-memstat-data , but, unfortunately, the import of this non-HEAD branch into Launchpad didn't work correctly -- https://bugs.launchpad.net/launchpad/+bug/1000852 ). In the beginning, the state was like this (it's the output of "ps --sort -vsize -o comm, vsize, size, rss"): Mon Jul 30 16:19:50 VLAT 2012 COMMANDVSZ SIZE RSS epiphany-browse 21476 224 568 bash 6248 2496 3748 ps-memstat3680 244 1092 ps1872 632 668 head 1388 296 416 Mon Jul 30 16:24:50 VLAT 2012 COMMANDVSZ SIZE RSS epiphany-browse 323568 243108 51116 bash 6248 249680 ps-memstat3680 244 404 tail 2980 300 156 ps1872 632 668 head 1388 296 416 In the end: Wed Aug 1 14:00:27 VLAT 2012 COMMANDVSZ SIZE RSS epiphany-browse 381232 300772 55976 bash 6248 2496 0 ps-memstat3728 292 380 tail 2980 30096 ps1872 632 672 head 1388 296 416 So, the consumed virtual memory increased by 60Mb or so. More info: disk cache is disabled in my Epiphany (not to cause load on my flash harddrive). I'd also like to give up swap, but that's not realistic yet to run programs without swap, because they tend to consume more and more memory (like in the reported case of Epiphany). I also have a feeling that the Midori process similarly grows constantly in size if it is left with Gmail opened for a while (a night). Public bug reported: This bug report is against gdm 3.5.90 from ricotz/staging ppa I think the lack of auto keyring login is just due to a missing pam profile. ln -s /etc/pam.d/gdm /etc/pam.d/gdm-password I am not sure if the gdm profile is used anymore, of if it should be different to gdm-password. Tim, thanks for filing this and posting what you've figured out. I have to admit I don't really understand gdm much at all. We did notice some booting problems. [Bug 39890]
Created attachment 66101 Another small test case The patch doesn't fully solve the problem for me. I have attached another PDF file (which only contains one math formula) with which I still can reproduce the issue. When I try to select the Sigma ("∑") in Evince, limits ("m=0" and "∞") disappear; when I try to select "x/2" fraction, I get an orange or black rectangle (I use Ubuntu's Ambiance theme, so normally selection color should be always orange). I am not sure how to fix the problem with the Gamma glyph not being selectable. It is not selectable because it has a zero width, because there is no Widths array in the file. [Bug 1030357] Re: crash with SIGSEGV in cairo, when evince tries to print this PDF file
This is marked as Triaged, so its waiting for dev fixing. Felix, is this already fixed in Quantal? If it is, then if you can find the patch and attach it to here, we might be able to SRU it. If it is *not* yet in Quantal, it needs fixed there first, then it can be SRU'd to Precise. Note that for QUantal, it should be fixed in Debian as well, if the fix is not yet there (according to the Debian bug, it is not yet fixed there) -- Thomas Ward LPID: trekcaptainusa-tw -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1030357 Title: crash with SIGSEGV in cairo, when evince tries to print this PDF file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo/+bug/1030357/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
