[Bug 1080584] [NEW] rhythmbox mp3 and ogg ripping of cds fails
Public bug reported: When starting to rip CD tracks to mp3 files (or ogg), rhythmboox complains about missing plugins and starts downloading them. After sucessfull download, the ripping fails. Watching the plugin install, I think I have seen some text regrading "i386", while I use a 64-bit platform? Two weeks ago the ripping worked fine (and without previous download of plugins). [Bug 1080344] Re: No effect on Suspend and Hibernate buttons in power button shutdown dialog
When running gnome-settings-daemon in debug mode (executed manually with --debug option) the following line shows up every time the power button is pressed: (gnome-settings-daemon:4022): media-keys-plugin-DEBUG: Launching action for key type '45' (on device id 6) (gnome-settings-daemon:4022): media-keys-plugin-DEBUG: Launching action for key type '45' (on device id 6) (gnome-settings-daemon:4022): media-keys-plugin-DEBUG: Launching action for key type '45' (on device id 6) (gnome-settings-daemon:4022): media-keys-plugin-DEBUG: Launching action for key type '45' (on device id 6) no debug info is printed when hitting either suspend, hibernate or cancel buttons, but the same line shows up if the power button is pressed again. I am attaching two logfiles with the debug output of gnome-settings- daemon invoked with --debug, once with the "restart" button hit and once with "shutdown" ** Attachment added: "logfile when restart button is pressed eventually" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1080344/+attachment/3437509/+files/gsd.debug.restart.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080344 Title: No effect on Suspend and Hibernate buttons in power button shutdown dialog To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1080344/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1080344] [NEW] No effect on Suspend and Hibernate buttons in power button shutdown dialog
Public bug reported: When the power button on a laptop is pressed while the unity desktop (more specifically gnome-settings-daemon) is running, the ACPI handler ignores the event. Instead gnome-settings-daemon btings up a "popup" to ask the user whether he wants to Suspend Restart Cancel Shutdown and if the hibernate function has been enabled according to http://askubuntu.com/questions/94754/how-to-enable-hibernation also Hibernate if no action is taken, the "Shutdown" feature is auto-executed abter 60 seconds. Of these, only "Shutdown" and "Cancel" always have the intended effect, where "Shutdown" invokes a shutdown of the system and "Cancel" simply closes the dialog. "Restart" causes a system restart in about 99% of the cases only, however I had seen occasions where only the session got terminated and the login screen is presented without an actual reboot taking place! "Suspend" and "Hibernate" have NO effect, other than the dialog closes, in fact they behave the same as if "Cancel" has been pressed! When "Suspend" or "Hibernate" are selected manually in the power menu from the Unity desktop, they both work. In fact all options in that menu work. [Bug 1080328] [NEW] On double click, Nautilus opens the file with the wrong application
Public bug reported: Observed behaviour Assume I have a file called screenshot.png and double click it; Nautilus will start the image viewer. If I omit the extension, Nautilus is clever enough to figure it out and open it with the image viewer. If I'm however stupid enough to rename the file to screenshot.txt, Nautilus decides that it's no longer an image and opens with a texteditor (or attempts to). Expected behaviour Nautilus should use the file content to determine the type of file and the associated application instead of extensions. Reported for Ubuntu 12.04; also observed with an up-to-date 10.04 and also reported to be the case on 13.04 (see https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+question/214355) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.04 Package: nautilus 1:3.4.2-0ubuntu5 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.2.0-33.52-generic 3.2.31 Uname: Linux 3.2.0-33-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.0.1-0ubuntu15 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sun Nov 18 13:58:04 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/nautilus GsettingsChanges: org.gnome.nautilus.window-state geometry '1178x772+740+399' InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS "Precise Pangolin" - Release amd64 (20120823.1) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_ZA:en PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_ZA.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: nautilus UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug precise running-unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1080328 Title: On double click, Nautilus opens the file with the wrong application To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1080328/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1042456] Re: Huawei e398 doesn't work
It seems like the modem disconnects right after it has connected. I see that the signal level is 2 of 5. What happens if you try to set the connection to use only 2G or 3G? There is work underway upstream to support connecting to the modem using QMI protocol, but that is probably not ready at earliest for Ubuntu 13.04.
