[Bug 951585] Re: gvfsd-afp consumes 100% of processor cycles

2013-01-19 Thread vialick
Running 12.10 in a house with several macs, was connected to mac mini
through wifi router and noticed that performance dropped considerably
after being connected for a while (also kept having to reconnect to the
folders, and then kept timing out rather than letting me unmount one of
the shares). Top showed 100% processor for it and I had to manually kill
it

gedit should just build-depend on python3-gi itself if it uses GI with
python 3 IMHO, but I don't mind much adding the dependency to python-gi-
dev, too. I committed that to Debian SVN, and will upload to Raring,
too.

[Bug 1095068] Re: Empathy: No contacts on gtalk: 'status is set to offline'

2013-01-19 Thread Miguel Branco
I'm not sure why you come to that conclusion, but I always authorize the
accounts whenever requested (the top right menu button turns red). In
fact, I repeatedly authorized and unauthorized the gtalk account when
debugging the problem, trying to make Empathy show the contacts.

In any case the problem seems mitigated, it happens infrequently now
(and never does if I just use the messaging icon workaround).

Sorry if it's still a problem on my end.

[Bug 1101767] [NEW] Mouse buttons not inverted on initial login

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I am experiencing a bug where on first login to an Ubuntu/Unity session
(12.04), my mouse buttons are not inverted (left-handed). The
configuration does correctly list them as inverted, but they don't
behave that way. If I log out and login again, they behave correctly, as

recently (a few weeks ago) started misbehaving.

[Bug 1101820] [NEW] Evince Document Viewer Does Not Display Minus Signs on Print or Print Preview

2013-01-19 Thread Robert H. Dinah
Public bug reported:

On the attached pdf snippet Evince Document Viewer Does Not Display
Minus Signs on Print or Print Preview.

Ubuntu Release: 12.10

evince:
  Installed: 3.6.0-0ubuntu2
  Candidate: 3.6.0-0ubuntu2
  Version table:
 *** 3.6.0-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages

Expectation: Minus signs to print correctly

What happened: Minus signs display/print as blank characters

Steps to recreate:

1. open out.pdf attachment with Document Viewer
2. as an example check out equation: f(x) = x^2 - 3*x +2 / x - 2 ... you will
notice two minus signs and one plus sign
3. File | Print | Print Preview ... notice that the two minus signs are not
displayed ... this also occurs if you print rather than preview

[Bug 1101903] [NEW] Constantly rising memory usage by gnome-panel

2013-01-19 Thread Michael Mehl
Public bug reported:

At login, gnome-panel uses about 1% of my system memory (5973600kb) as
determined by ps u. This rises at the rate of 1-2% per hour that I am
logged on. Simultaneously, free swap memory starts to decrease from its
initial value of 5858300kb. If I stay logged in long enough (3-4 days),
there is little free memory, and trying to launch applications results
in a window stating:

Could not launch 'package name'
Failed to fork (Cannot allocate memory)

Though they can be started on the command line from an open xterm.

Logging out and logging in releases memory.

killall -9 gnome-panel

releases almost all memory -- some swap memory is still used.

[Bug 903733] Re: gnome-panel crashed with SIGSEGV in magazine_chain_pop_head()

2013-01-19 Thread WhatTheTech
This is also happening for me - I'm not sure what the procedure is but
being confirmed I didn't want to duplicate the post.

Since installing Gnome the panel has been non-existant, crashing from a
fresh install.

Thoughts/fixes welcomed...

used to happen in previous versions), unmount the camera.
3) Click on the camera, all thumbnails are shown.

gphoto2: {/home/myusername} /store_00010001/DCIM/140_1609 get IMG_5447.JPG
Downloading 'IMG_5447.JPG' from folder '/store_00010001/DCIM/140_1609'...
Saving file as IMG_5447.JPG
gphoto2: {/home/myusername} /store_00010001/DCIM/140_1609 ls

Downloading 'IMG_5450.JPG' from folder '/store_00010001/DCIM/140_1609'...
Saving file as IMG_5450.JPG

So it does seem to be working this time.

[Bug 910964] Re: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10)

2013-01-19 Thread Aaron Whitehouse
But then I tried shotwell again (without unplugging anything or resetting
anything) and it gave the same error, then back to gphoto2 and received the
following error (it hung as I was typing):
$ gphoto2 --shell
gphoto2: {/home/myusername} / cd s

*** Error ***
PTP I/O error

*** Error ***
An error occurred in the io-library ('Unspecified error'): The supplied vendor
or product id (0x0,0x0) is not valid.
ssto
ERROR: Invalid command.

I note that I imported all the photos on this camera from a card with 8
photos and it worked fine, so either more photos makes it worse, or
there is something else that makes it work sometimes and not others.

Either way, it does look like this hits gphoto2 as well.

Oh, and the screen on the 310HS always goes dark when you are talking
to it, with the green light on the bottom right either solid green or
blinking - I'm pretty sure it turns itself to that mode whatever you do.

[Bug 1101966] [NEW] shotwell doesn't support using removable storage devices for managed photos

2013-01-19 Thread Craig Magina
Public bug reported:

Shotwell doesn't allow me to add multiple locations where my photos are
stored. The usecase for this is I have a laptop that only has 128 GB of
storage, so storing my 80 GB of photos on it doesn't work. I instead
store all of my photos on a 320 GB external USB drive. As a result I
cannot use shotwell to work on my photos as it only supports one
location for your photo collection. An example of the functionality I am
looking for can be found in digikam. Digikam allows you to add multiple
collections. A collection can be located on a removable storage device,
a local system path, or even a network device. It then indexes the
entire collection and stores information about that collection in its
database.

[Bug 1075923] Re: nautilus hangs copying large directories from a samba share

2013-01-19 Thread Destain Duckert
I have the same problem on Ubuntu 12.10. I have tried 2 fresh installs
and both the exact same issue. Copying about 45gig of music around
11,000 files the copy freezes anywhere from 200 to 600 meg. I thought I
would try Ubuntu 13.04 just to see... and it's plagued with the same
problem. Haven't moved to 12.10 because of this bug.

[Bug 1101970] [NEW] Ubuntu very slow

2013-01-19 Thread Hans Payne
Public bug reported:

-IGNORE THE PACKAGE AND DEBUG INFO, I DON'T THINK THIS IS WHAT'S CAUSING THIS-
Allcaps aside, Ubuntu's been VERY slow graphics-wise ever since I got my new
Radeon HD 7850.
Not a hardware issue, Windows works fine with it for gaming.
My FPS is normal at the login screen, but goes down once I log in
When I go to the System Settings screen, it doesn't even know what card and
driver I'm using, and unfortunately the driver I got off of AMD's website has
an unsatisfiable dependency.

@unwrecker and @alexandervolfman: This bug has been fixed and so this
bug report won't be reopened. However, a regression with similar
symptoms has appeared in 12.10 (Quantal). See bug #1063617.

Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. RELEASE reached EOL on May 12, 2011.
See this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

I've tried recreating this bug with Ubuntu 12.10 and Ubuntu 12.04 and
was unable to, given the information you've provided. Please upgrade to
the latest version and re-test. If the bug is still reproducible,
increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.

Do feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
