[Bug 666887] Re: suduko missing generate puzzles option

2013-01-20 Thread Dr. W.J.W. Hanna
Jeremy, I could certainly open a new bug report. However, I cannot
understand why this should be necessary, since I am experiencing exactly
the same behaviour in Ubuntu 11.10 that the original poster seems to
have been having in 10.10. When I run gnome sudoku from the command
line instead of from the GUI, I get exactly the same error messages -
something like:

WARNING: Not able to provide 1 puzzles in levels ['very hard']
WARNING: Generate more puzzles if you really need this many puzzles!
WARNING: Repeating puzzle for difficulty very hard -- generate more puzzles to
avoid this.

It seems to me, therefore, that this is the same bug.

[Bug 1019429] [NEW] Unable to double-click or drag after a while

2013-01-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Installed Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit on a Dell Inspiron One 2310. After a
period of time I am unable to click on any folders. Single or double-
click doesn't highlight/open folders respecively, and right-clicking
doesn't bring up the context-sensitive menu that you would expect from
right-clicking on a folder (you just get the option to create new
folder, etc. Not rename or delete or anything like that). Single-
clicking an icon for an application in the Launcher does work however.

Applications such as Google Chrome also don't respond to a right-click
or dragging the scrollbar. However double-click works if I go into
System Settings... Mouse and Trackpad and use the test face. I can also
rubber band around icons and they get highlighted, but if I try to move
them it just starts drawing another rubber band.

Problem has been experienced by at least one other user:

[Bug 518230] Re: Some PDF forms don't save entered information

2013-01-20 Thread Patrick Burger
This is one of the files. sorry for the content of the file, but this is
sanitized. If you enter information in ANYWHERE but the ability score
modifier column and any other place on that sheet where it factors in
those numbers those boxes are left blank unless you click on them to see
the contents. reapplying those numbers will result in a viewable sheet
again, until it is once again saved.

Columns affected:
Ability score modifiers, Ability modifiers and Skill modifiers (In the Skills
section) Dex modifier and AC in the AC section.

placing numbers here will result in blank columns where the modifiers
should go and blank total modifiers.

I still experience this bug with ubuntu 12.04 regarding this file. and
others like it. although it I have not tried it with the IRS tax forms.
I can upload the form to a site of your choosing if you wish. The
workaround also did not work. It accepts the data, but save the data but
the data is not viewable unless it is reentered. Even saving it again
did not work.

[Bug 1029531] Re: cdromupgrade from Lucid to Precise failed with unmet dependencies without network connection

2013-01-20 Thread Beerslayer
I'm not an expert user, so there's probably a simple solution for this.
Nonetheless, I'm still having (or I appear to be having) the exact
problem described here. I'm trying to upgrade from lucid to precise
using the alternate CD (and no network access), but the upgrade keeps
failing, saying it "could not calculate the upgrade".

The precise alternate CD I'm using is one I just downloaded within the
last few days (it's currently 20-Jan-2013) directly from the Ubuntu
site. I would expect it to have all the fixes in precise described
above, since they appear to have been released months ago, yet the
upgrade still fails.

For what it's worth, I have enabled all of the standard lucid
repositories (lucid, lucid-updates, lucid-backports) except for lucid-
proposed, run apt-get update numerous times, and it doesn't help a bit.

I will be happy to provide any information I can retrieve for you, or
open a separate bug report if necessary (and if I can figure out how),
but please do not assume any expertise on my part - I can navigate OK
and have no fear of the command line but I have only been using Linux
(Ubuntu) regularly for a little over a year. If there are specific log
files you need info from, you may need to tell me where they are - I
haven't dug that deeply into the inner workings of Linux (yet).

[Bug 1086431] Re: nautilus shows wrong filesize

2013-01-20 Thread Matt Fischer
This is not a bug, it is a misunderstanding of units. The issue is that
you are comparing MB to M. MB is 1000*1000*1000, while M is
1024*1024*1024. For example, this file is shown with ls -alh on my
system:

268M Jan 19 21:13 my_pix.zip
281015429 Jan 19 21:13 my_pix.zip

Nautilus shows it in MB, which is simply the number of bytes above
divided by 1,000,000, aka 281.0 MB.

[Bug 1010349] Re: Evolution address book inaccessible without killing one time "e-addressbook-factory"

2013-01-20 Thread sektor
I am a bit surprised to see 'low' as 'importance' for this bug. As far
as I understood Ubtuntu 12.04 LTS users are not able to sync their
evolution contacts with google on a permanent basis - like me. This is
preventing Ubuntu LTS users to use Ubuntu LTS as real world workstation
without additional fallbacks like M$. LTS versions are supposed to work
for people and companies that need a resilient system, right? Please
consider that evolution was the preferred solution before Ubuntu 12.04.
I think the importance of this bug is not representing the real impact
for Ubuntu LTS users therefore.

I am not able to code the things which are necessary to solve this bug
but I am absolutly happy to support with whatever I can do to solve this
issue. Please give me guidance on how to support you!

Thank you.

[Bug 910964] Re: Cannot import photos from PTP Camera (Fuji X10)

2013-01-20 Thread Marcus Meissner
I am thinking thumbnails for movies might not work correctly.

can you cross check this with "just images" on the camera, and also
with just 1 movie on the camera?

I can confirm this bug on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. It mostly appears when I
am working with a large number of files. Memory usage goes from ~60 MiB
at startup to >160 MiB after 10h of usage.

[Bug 521492] Re: [Patch upstream] Dual Monitor wallpaper is not scaling across both monitors, same background is repeated on both monitors instead

2013-01-20 Thread Daniel
This Bug is still available in Ubuntu 12.10 64-bit (GNOME 3.6.0)!

But:
Thanks a lot to Florent and Thomas for the very helpful solution. The solution
in den Comments #32 and #34 works perfect for me.
I have fix the problem in libgnome-desktop-3-4_3.6.0.1 ->
libgnome-desktop/gnome-bg.c -> line 881.
The lib from the ubuntu repository.

[Bug 1072566] Re: Removal of 21_correct_timestamp_.. patch returns focus issues in Unity session

2013-01-20 Thread Doug McMahon
Overall this is pretty much a no nothing bug. That being said the new proposed
fix appears to only be partially effective
Seems to work ok when left clicking on launcher icon but has no affect if using
a quicklist entry instead, nautilus will open behind.
Also doesn't address similar issues with firefox & sometimes synaptic

(the upstream nautilus fix itself isn't 100% in Gs but that's their
problem & I don't know if they care if ctrl+alt+t opens a terminal
underneath

Hey,

in raring one can switch the virutal desktops "off" (only one) or "on"
(four desktops). this is not exactly what I requested but a huge
improvement.

I would be fine with closing this bug as "fixed" or also "Invalid"

[Bug 1101269] [NEW] No notification whatsoever when file received via bluetooth

2013-01-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

(I have no idea which package to report this against)

Until 12.04, when a file was received via Bluetooth, a popup window used to
appear notifying of it. This was a wrong way of notifying and it was very
buggy, but now we have the opposite problem: NO NOTIFICATION AT ALL.
The correct behavior would be to show a "baloon" notification like the ones
that appear on the top-right corner of the screen, as every other kind of
notification (e.g. low battery, network connection/disconnection).
