As for ability to set arbitrary time formats and week starting days ect - more and more people live and work in a global world where the lines between time zones, customs, working environments become more and more blurred. It was caused because I had created a JABBER account with FB. Replaced it with the new FB type account and now it is solved. Public bug reported: I have a file named art%3A10.1007%2FBF01034471.pdf, if I open document Properties (Alt+Return) for it I get Location: file:///home/username/Documents/PDFs/art%253A10.1007%252FBF01034471.pdf. So there are extra escape sequences for percent sign (I know that %25 is a code for %). If I try to ls -l /home/username/Documents/PDFs/art%253A10.1007%252FBF01034471.pdf I got ls: cannot access /home/username/Documents/PDFs/art%253A10.1007%252FBF01034471.pdf: No such file or directory. If i try to navigate to correct file /home/username/Documents/PDFs/art%3A10.1007%2FBF01034471.pdf I get no error. So there is an error in % sign processing in evince. Roundabout 4 out of 10 times of booting the Ubuntu five dots-screen disappears, no login screen (GDM) appears but only tty1, with login: . If I then login and do sudo gdm I get the message: failed to acquire org.gnome.displaymanager could not acquire name; bailing out. Whatever I try I can't solve this problem. A reboot (or two or three) may finally result in the normal GDM-login screen and Ubuntu working normally. Ps I have switched from lightdm to GDM because lightdm gave many more problems than GDM now does. Public bug reported: Hi, I have a Dell Vostro 3700 notebook running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS and a Netgear FWG114P WLAN router which I bought 2005. Since the update on Sunday 27. January 2013 the NetworkManager fails to connect to my WLAN Router. The Indicator applet shows all available wireless networks, but the NetworkManager fails to establish the connection. Due to the fact that I see the available networks I think the WLAN driver itself works fine. It seems to be a DHCP problem, but I have no idead how to solve it. If I boot from an Ubuntu 12.04 USB stick which I created about 1 year ago WLAN works fine. Thus it's not a hardware problem. Please could you give me some hints how to solve this problem. This functionally WORKED in 12.04 but got DESTROYED in 12.10 and has not been fixed in 64 bit 1304 (Raring) with kernel 3.8.0-3-generic. Since I make use of this functionally frequently each day, I have avoided 12.10 except to determine if certain bugs have been fixed.
