[Bug 1121820] [NEW] Залипание клавиш Ctrl и Shift при переключении раскладки клавиатуры

2013-02-11 Thread Chudinov Vasiliy
Public bug reported:

Kate.

Alt+Shift:
Жмём Alt+Shift и после мышкой кликаем на тексте. Если текст выделается мышкой
без нажатия клавиши Shift, то клавиша Shift залипла.

Ctrl+Shift:
Так же переключаемся по Ctrl+Shift, если вместо набора текста, начинают
срабатывать комбинации клавиш Ctrl+буква, то клавиша Ctrl залипла.

32-х битное ядро:
uname -a
Linux Home-PC 3.5.0-23-generic #35-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 24 13:05:29 UTC 2013 i686

[Bug 1053783] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 - Stalled shutdown after having had KAlarm opened; with package info.

2013-02-11 Thread Nelly
I also have this bug.
I use KAlarm and my computer with Ubuntu 12.04 (Gnome desktop) took several
minutes to shutdown.

Link http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1764048 gave me the hint how to
solve this problem. This link contains methods to prevent te starting up of
nepomuk and akonadi in 3 steps.
If you don't want to use KAlarm, it might be safe to apply all three steps.
However, doing so, KAlarm could not be used. It asked to start-up akonadi
first. So I tried what would happen if I only used the two steps preventing the
(complete) start-up of nepomuk, and that worked great. KAlarm works and Ubuntu
12.04 shuts down within a few seconds. The steps to apply are:

1. Add the following lines to ~/.kde/share/config/nepomukserverrc (and
their sections if they don't exist) (change the value from true to
false if they do exist and are set on true;

[Basic Settings]
Start Nepomuk=false

[Service-nepomukmigration1]
autostart=false

[Service-nepomukstrigiservice]
autostart=false

2. Remove the file /usr/share/autostart/nepomukcontroller.desktop, if it
exists.

[Bug 1121951] [NEW] Lenovo X1 Carbon: Backlight brightness keys don't work any more

2013-02-11 Thread Daniel van Vugt
Public bug reported:

On the Lenovo X1 Carbon, the brightness/backlight hotkeys work fine in
quantal. In Raring they don't. The OSD for the brightness control
appears but never moves by more than about 10%.

This is only a problem with the hotkeys. I can still change the
brightness properly in the Brightness Lock panel. And I can change the
brightness properly by writing to /sys/class/backlight/...

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

Actually this bug wasn't fixed in precise.
I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.1 with GNOME Classic and Compiz.
The behaviour is exactly the same: first opened terminal have the size of
80x24, all subsequent terminal windows are 2 rows less.
I've read the description of the bug #915241 which is marked as the duplicate
of this bugreport, but I think that this duplicate status is wrong, as I've got
versions of libgtk-3-0 = 3.4.2-0ubuntu0.5 and libgtk2.0-0 = 2.24.10-0ubuntu6,
both of them are more recent than the ones mentioned as fixed, but the problem
persists.

[Bug 1122028] [NEW] gsettings does not respect dconf locks

2013-02-11 Thread Jake Allen
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS
Release:12.04

libglib2.0-bin:
  Installed: 2.32.3-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.32.3-0ubuntu1

gsettings does not respect locked dconf values (although it does know
that they are not writable).

Steps to reproduce:
1. Lock the value of /org/gnome/desktop/session/idle-delay by setuping up dconf
as outlined at https://live.gnome.org/dconf/SystemAdministrators, specifically

$ mkdir -p /etc/dconf/profile
$ mkdir -p /etc/dconf/db/local.d
$ mkdir -p /etc/dconf/db/site.d/locks

$ cat /etc/dconf/profiles/user
user-db:user
system-db:local
system-db:site

$ cat /etc/dconf/db/site.d/screensaver
[org/gnome/desktop/session]
idle-delay=10

$ cat /etc/dconf/db/site.d/locks/screensaver
/org/gnome/desktop/session/idle-delay

2. Run `dconf update` to updates these changes.

3. Run `dconf read /org/gnome/desktop/session/idle-delay` and observe
the value is '10'.

4. Run `gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay` and observe
the value is the default value 'uint32 600'

Expected results:
dconf and gsettings would return the same value.

[Bug 1122028] Re: gsettings does not respect dconf locks

2013-02-11 Thread Margarita Manterola
This bug was also reported in GNOME's bugzilla:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=693149

Let me add that if the locks are removed from the /etc/dconf files, and
then the user changes the value manually, for example to 3 minutes, then
this is the result:

$ dconf read /org/gnome/desktop/session/idle-delay
uint32 180
$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay
uint32 180

But if the locks are then restored (by editing the files and then
running dconf update):

$ dconf read /org/gnome/desktop/session/idle-delay
10
$ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay
uint32 600

[Bug 1122028] Re: gsettings does not respect dconf locks

2013-02-11 Thread Margarita Manterola
On the other bug, Ryan Lortie explained that this is because the value
needs to be casted to uint32.

Changing:
idle-delay=10
To:
idle-delay=uint32 10

Makes this work correctly.

I still think this is a bug though, since it's a conf file, not a
programming language. But in any case it should be documented
somewhere... Where?

[Bug 874386] Re: Can't drag/drop files onto bookmarked folders

2013-02-11 Thread Mike
No. Moving files by dragging onto bookmarks does NOT work now :-)

Version info:
* Ubuntu 12.04
* Nautilus 3.4.2

I'm not sure why some people are saying it is fixed. Maybe it IS in some
versions?

[Bug 874386] Re: Can't drag/drop files onto bookmarked folders

2013-02-11 Thread Dario Bertini
It's fixed at least in version 3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4.1 (in the about
dialog it's 3.4.2)
apparently it's not in the 12.04 repositories... I don't know if it's worth it
for you to ask/wait for someone to backport it, you might be better off
upgrading

[Bug 1116513] Re: /usr/lib/cups/filter/pdftops failed

2013-02-11 Thread Till Kamppeter
Following the previous comment this problem is a Poppler bug and fixed
in current Poppler. Poppler 0.22.x will most probably get into Raring,
but note that the pdftops CUPS filter uses GhostScript in newer Ubuntu
versions, so the problem is probably solved at least from Quantal on.
For older Ubuntu versions where the pdftops CUPS filter still uses
Poppler we should perhaps consider backporting the Poppler fix.

Moving to Poppler ...

Sylvia, thank you for finding out this.

[Bug 1116801] Re: About section of sytem settings reports wrong version of Ubuntu (12.04.1)

2013-02-11 Thread José Cabo
It is just my opinion but... I think that in this kind of window
(*detail* os window) I would see which version of Ubuntu I have
installed.

So I don't agree just seeing only 12.04 LTS when the version is a
minor version like 12.04.2 LTS. I prefer see everything could be
useful.

Kisses.

[Bug 1122424] [NEW] gedit saves 1 byte to much

2013-02-11 Thread UlfZibis
Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 12.10

- open file manager as root via sudo nautilus
- display properties of /boot/grub/grubenv
-- file size: 1.024 Bytes
- open file via double-click
- in gedit change 1 letter and save
- in gedit view document statistics
-- file size: 1.024 Bytes
- display properties again in nautilus
-- file size: 1.025 Bytes

This is strange I think!
