[Bug 412797] [NEW] Menu items disappear while the menu is open

2013-02-20 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Not sure if this is a bug or a deliberate design, but here goes:

If I receive an indication (say, Ted just joined IM) and I open the menu
then I see Ted there. I might try to move the mouse over to click on
that menuitem, but if I'm too slow then the menuitem will be removed
from the menu.

Seems like a minor usability issue to me. While the menu is open should
we really be modifying it?

[Bug 1129509] Re: I don't know

2013-02-20 Thread Fred
Uhm, I just logged in and this error report dialog came up.
I didn't really do or expect anything.

It worked though, I didn't do anything weird.
All that happens is that I got an error report dialog when I logged in, for no
reason.

[Bug 1038812] Re: nautilus compact, icons views stop responding to touch clicks

2013-02-20 Thread V F
This bug is probably related to xorg:
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/commit/?id=3e6358ee6c33979329b78fe2097a1fdf76fb69cd
(the symptoms described here are the same).
I'm still unsure about why this patch isn't applyied, or how to apply it.
Adding xorg-edgers to the ppa list doesn't solve the problem on Ubuntu 12.04.
Technically the touchscreen is unusable.

[Bug 1036673] Re: empathy-accounts corrupted and now crashing/broken

2013-02-20 Thread Jeff Farthing
Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Empathy and add a Google Talk account.
2. Log out of Ubuntu.
3. Log in to Ubuntu.
4. Open Empathy.
5. See two accounts.

When you open up Edit Accounts, you'll see the duplicate listed with a
status of Unavailable - Network Error.

Also, probably related, duplicate contacts are shown for a Google Talk
account as well. For instance, I only have one group that I created,
called Clients. However, there is another group that appears, called
Personal that also displays all of my clients.

[Bug 1130694] [NEW] search does not work.

2013-02-20 Thread mangelasakis
Public bug reported:

according to this error
https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1076232 and this question
http://askubuntu.com/questions/203651/recursive-search-broken-in-
nautilus-3-6 -on-ubuntu-12-10, the search problem persists in raring.
This error has been resolved in nautilus 3,7. So why not upgrade to 3,7
nautilus; I can not search any file...

[Bug 938751] Re: jpeg images are washed out or colors are skewed

2013-02-20 Thread Joakim Ekberg
Having had this problem a few times before, I'm having it all the time
since upgrading to 12.10. After each reboot, if I forget to run the
xprop command, colours are off in some images in the image viewer or in
Firefox (as pointed out, it's not really an eog bug.)

[Bug 1130722] [NEW] Change nautilus menu layout in Unity back to the style of 3.4

2013-02-20 Thread Michael Terry
Public bug reported:

In Nautilus 3.6, introduced in raring, the menu layout was changed from the
traditional all-entries-in-one-menubar to:
* an application menu called Files in the Unity menu bar
* a view menu has moved to some toolbar buttons and a dropdown under an arrow
in the upper right of a window
* all other menu items have moved to a cog button dropdown in the upper right
of a window

For Unity, we should probably switch back to the more traditional layout
(and keep the new layout for GNOME). I'll assign an Ayatana task to get
design guidance on what the layout should be.

[Bug 1130746] [NEW] Update to nautilus 3.7.90

2013-02-20 Thread Jeremy Bicha
Public bug reported:

I've built nautilus 3.7.90 on raring and things seem to work fine. This
required reverting 7 commits for GTK 3.6, 1 commit that needed gnome-
disks 3.7.90 (and udisks 2.1.90), and 1 commit that needed gsettings-
desktop-schemas. It sounds like the Desktop Team is still considering
updating GTK to 3.8 for raring which would reduce the number of patches
needed.

GNOME 3.7 is now feature frozen so the risk going forward of disruptive
changes should be minimal. One additional change is that as of
yesterday, nautilus master no longer handles drawing the desktop
wallpaper but we can revert those changes for the benefit of metacity
users (Compiz/Unity currently doesn't handle drawing the wallpaper
either). One regression is that gnome-shell 3.7 changed the search
provider API so we need a patch to get nautilus 3.7 to work with the
earlier API.

There are several improvements in the new nautilus, some of which are fairly
tricky to attempt backporting.
- There is now optional tree navigation in the list view
- Nautilus supports a --select commandline option to select a given URI (this
sounds like something the Unity files lens needs for its Right click Show in
Folder option)
- Full list at http://git.gnome.org/browse/nautilus/tree/NEWS

[Bug 1130786] [NEW] Rhythmbox unnecessarily announces Not Playing when I close it.

2013-02-20 Thread Alan Pope
Public bug reported:

Open Rhythmbox
Close Rhythmbox
Notice a notification bubble appears which announces Not Playing along with
the RB logo.

This seems unnecessary given I'm currently not listening to anything and
I actively closed the RB window - indicating that I'm not wanting to
listen to something. I don't need to be told that the music player is
now no longer playing.

Skype doesn't tell me it's not on a call when I close it, and firefox
doesn't tell me I'm not browsing when I close that.

[Bug 1072508] Re: lens process keep running after logout

2013-02-20 Thread Sebastien Bacher
** Description changed:

- Some process, like unity-{application,files,music}-daemon, keep running
- after user log out.
+ * Impact:
+ Some process, like unity-{application,files,music}-daemon, keep running after
user log out.

- steps to reproduce:
- 1) login on Unity session
+ * Test Case:
+ 1) login on Unity session
  2) open the dash
  3) check in system monitor: one instance per process -eg, 1
unity-application-daemon
  4) logout
  5) repeat steps 1-3. Now there's 2 proccess called unity-application-daemon

if you keep repeating the steps, the number of process increase.
+
+ * Regression potential:
+ the update which contains the fix has a few changes, check that gvfs keeps
working file (try browsing different remote locations from nautilus, use the
dash to search for online music and videos, ...)
+
+
+
This also affects some other process, like 3rd party unity-lens-{torrents,
wikipedia}. Scopes are not affected.

[Bug 1031449] Re: rhythmbox leaking memory

2013-02-20 Thread William Hua
I rememchecked (raring) this without any success at duplicating the
problems from the originally attached valgrind log. I'm attaching my
valgrind output (which was generated after applying the changes at
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=694293). Memory usage is
still pretty high however, on the order of tens of MBs.

[Bug 585472] Re: File System Properties reports 128 TB of use

2013-02-20 Thread Clint Byrum
Hello outpost...@gmail.com, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nautilus into quantal-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/1:3.5.90.really.3.4.2-0ubuntu4.2
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

I believe if you change it to none will not allow you access it at all. What
should be done is change it to read and write. This will allow you to delete
it. You also need to be the owner of the file.

[Bug 959276] Re: Scrolling message in preview breaks rendering

2013-02-20 Thread Matt C
I still have this problem with liboverlayscrollbars + Evolution in
Ubuntu 12.04.

Overlay scrollbars makes Evolution virtually unusable - email view
windows (preview window, also affects opening email in a full window).

Periodically I reinstall/upgrade Ubuntu or install evolution security
updates and lose the LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0 environment workaround and
boy do I soon know about it.

Is anyone still debugging liboverlayscrollbar?.

2013-02-20 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
The attachment Debdiff 3.6.1-3.7.90 of this bug report has been
identified as being a patch in the form of a debdiff. The ubuntu-
sponsors team has been subscribed to the bug report so that they can
review and hopefully sponsor the debdiff. In the event that this is in
fact not a patch you can resolve this situation by removing the tag
'patch' from the bug report and editing the attachment so that it is not
flagged as a patch. Additionally, if you are member of the ubuntu-
sponsors team please also unsubscribe the team from this bug report.

[Bug 1130956] Re: Update gnome-system-monitor to 3.7.90

2013-02-20 Thread Daniel Holbach
Looks good. I'm not quite sure what the Desktop team's plans are wrt
GNOME3.7, but you might want to update your changelog entry to look a
bit more like this:

+gnome-system-monitor (3.7.90-0ubuntu1) raring; urgency=low
+
+ * New upstream release (LP: #1130956). Many bugs fixed, among them:
++ Do not use deprecated API, update color selection dialog (LP: #972472)
++ Removed old workaround for retaining tree selection (LP: #958958)
++ Added policykit support for privileges for killing/renicing other
+ users' processes (LP: #983127)
++ Show running process state for processes with changed cpu time
+ (LP: #174164)
+ * debian/control.in: updated build-depends (newer GTK, GTKMM).
+

This way all the bugs will be closed automatically.
