Thank you, what you did was exactly right, and interestingly there is this suggestive line: "0 D 1000 2198 2108 7 99 - - 32215 sleep_ R 00:00:02 nepomukservices" However, I really need ps to not truncate the output...does " ps -wweo pid, state, args | grep nepomuk" work for you? [Bug 1136644] [NEW] gedit search function is not practical anymore
Public bug reported: i use gedit a lot, and i find it comfortable in general. the new small search window is extremely impractical. FOCUS PROBLEM: CTRL+F > type a search (search of longer strings FAR TOO SLOW) > find and now, typing ESC brings one back to the former place! when trying to use CTRL-F again, the search string is replaced by new text. if one wants to stay in the found passage, one must use the mouse/touchpad to click into the text. this is an extremely annoying feature/behavior. i simply would like to have the old search window + its behavior back. i am working very quickly and mostly using shortcuts. gedit now completely interrupts my way of working. additionally, where are the other search functions such as case- sensitive search? additionally, i do not want the search function to slow down so much. for me it is ok to start the search after i have finished typing my search string :-) this new energy-consuming ZEITGEIST-etc-fashion is not good for quick workers with serious amounts of data. best wishes, vollmanr ** Affects: gedit (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gedit in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1136644 Title: gedit search function is not practical anymore To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gedit/+bug/1136644/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1136542] [NEW] g_unix_mount_points_get() won't work in a LXC container unless /etc/fstab is set
Public bug reported: Seen on several versions of glib2 and Ubuntu: 12.10 - amd64 libglib2.0-0:amd64 2.34.1-1ubuntu1 12.04 armhf libglib2.0-0 2.32.3-0ubuntu1 g_unix_mount_points_get() returns an empty list when run inside an LXC container. I think this is because it reads /etc/fstab to gather mount info instead of reading /proc/mounts. This means that for LXC containers, it will fail using a default container, returning no mount points. There are other cases where fstab is neither complete up to date or accurate and I think that reading mounts would make more sense. Below is a repro case. /* gcc -g -ggdb -o dt dt.c `pkg-config --cflags --libs glib-2.0 libgtop-2.0 gio-2.0 gio-unix-2.0` */ /* g_unix_mount_points_get() - returns empty set inside a container */ #include #include #include #include #include int main(void) { GList*points; GList*p; points = g_unix_mount_points_get (NULL); if (points == NULL) { printf("no mounts found!"); } for (p = points; p != NULL; p = p->next) { GUnixMountEntry *mount = p->data; const char *mount_path; mount_path = g_unix_mount_get_mount_path (mount); printf("Found a mount: %s\n", mount_path); } g_list_free (points); } ** Affects: glib2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1136542 Title: g_unix_mount_points_get() won't work in a LXC container unless /etc/fstab is set To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glib2.0/+bug/1136542/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Additional details: -- This bug occurs with empathy's account-plugin-* , (which require to fill up credentials). With account-plugin-* based on web authentication, everything seems to be ok. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open System Settings --> Online accounts 2. Try to add some of these accounts: aim, icq, jabber, yahoo (possibly also gadugadu, irc, mxit, myspace, salut, sametime, sip, zephyr) 3a. You can see there are fields for account details missing. The fields are missing now. Sometimes this is "fixed" again after system restart. 4. Click on "Cancel" or "Done". You will experience this crash.
