[Bug 1168978] [NEW] evince doesn't read pdf that firefox does.

[Bug 1168963] [NEW] Default benchmarking options
Public bug reported: This bug is a opinion When running a benchmark the write option should be opt-in for the sake of SSD, by accident i just wrote several hundred MB to my drive, it wasted the amount of space for a fresh install writing to a ssd just wears them out, that should be noted next to the option at the very least it should remember that it unchecked it last time and not have it checked the next time it is nice to see you can write benchmark a drive without deleting everything, the data looks fine in the file manager, i hope i can still boot i whet through a week of getting my setup script just right to write a little as possible when i installed this drive, just to waste a huge amount of my write limit ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: gnome-disk-utility 3.6.1-1ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-17.27-generic 3.8.6 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-17-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 Architecture: amd64 CasperVersion: 1.330 Date: Sun Apr 14 20:40:52 2013 LiveMediaBuild: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Alpha amd64 (20130414) MarkForUpload: True ProcEnviron: TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-disk-utility UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-disk-utility (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug raring -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168963 Title: Default benchmarking options To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/1168963/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I'm not sure, what you think is incomplete here? Yes, gedit adds an additional newline, even if user doesn't want it, so this is a bug. [Bug 592109] Re: ZIP archives with non-ASCII filenames cannot survive a round-trip in File Roller (when p7zip is not installed)
It is not that simple as it seems in post#6. For a couple of years there is a workaround for Cyrillic languages a patched unzip. But the problem is that if p7zip-full is installed, file- roller always uses it as a backend and there is no way to switch it to unzip. [Bug 592109] Re: ZIP archives with non-ASCII filenames cannot survive a round-trip in File Roller (when p7zip is not installed)
As I mardek quite a few bugs as duplicate of this one. I'd mention that there is a simple workaround, install p7zip. The bug is caused by zip/unzip stack provided by Info-Zip. In particular, zip(1) seems to have no problem creating a ZIP archive with non-ASCII file name; the encoding used is UTF-8. However, unzip(1) just refuse to list any non-ASCII printable character in filenames. As FIle Roller use zip/unzip as one of its backend for ZIP, the same issue can be seen in File Roller. When p7zip is installed, File Roller would use it as backend for ZIP instead. Therefore, to hide the problem from end users, we may let file- roller depends on p7zip so that we can guarantee that we have a working ZIP stack. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to file-roller in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/592109 Title: ZIP archives with non-ASCII filenames cannot survive a round-trip in File Roller (when p7zip is not installed) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/file-roller/+bug/592109/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1168876] [NEW] x-chat cannot resume from its indicator
Public bug reported: If you have the xchat-indicator installed (running xchat in Unity) and close X-Chat (minimize to tray), it will show a little arrow next to the x-chat icon to indicate its running in the message menu, but when you click the icon it doesn't resume it opens an entirely new xchat session. ** Affects: xchat-gnome (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to xchat-gnome in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168876 Title: x-chat cannot resume from its indicator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xchat-gnome/+bug/1168876/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 367372] Re: Gedit uses 100% of the CPU while editing files
I'm on Lynx, running gedit 2.30.3. I started getting this problem a few weeks ago. I got rid of it somehow but it's back now. Seeing the direction on this report page, I started testing the plug- ins. I had reinstalled gedit and probably dropped all extra plug-ins in the process. Switching off the plug-ins one after another, I found all would switch off easily, except for Bestandsverkennerspaneel, which took a long time to switch off. I don't know the English name (the plug-in info doesn't show a "standard name"), but the name translates to something like "File Explorer Panel". Figuring that this was something file related, I started saving files from gedit with new names, exiting and launching in between. For the first five, I had not changes. The sixth file I did by launching from the shell with a new filename. At that point the processor usage dropped back to normal. Considering this is file-exploring related, I wonder whether the fact that I'm editing files in multiple fifty thousand file directories might be causing problems. I've been editing files from a single such directory for years, but it's recent that I've had multiple such directories, and it's from that same time that I'm writing files back to overwrite files in such copies. I'm not saying that this is definitely the cause, but it might be worth having a look at. I'll leave that plug-in switched of for now, but feel free to ask me to test. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/367372 Title: Gedit uses 100% of the CPU while editing files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gedit/+bug/367372/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

The patch that the description points to is not the fix, it's just adding a test to the test patterns of the library.
