[Bug 1181562] [NEW] Hard Disk Problems Detected warning is duplicated too many times without user interaction
Public bug reported: I have a disk whose SMART status correctly reports as failing. This is reported in Ubuntu by the Disk Utility - see the attached screenshot. If I walk away from the computer for a while, when I return there are many of these message boxes stacked on top of each other. The Examine button is highlighted by default but there is no scenario where I need/want more than 1 or possibly 2 Examine Windows open concurrently or even sequentially, so I must repeatedly click OK with my mouse to dismiss all of these messages. It would be better if the first message box inhibited the display of further message boxes until it is dismissed. Note: The issue that this an old-style message box rather than using the new notify-osd notifications is covered in bug #412440. Fixing that bug might fix this bug also, but in the meantime (or if that bug is closed as Wont-Fix) it would be beneficial to fix this bug. [Bug 1073913] Re: Nautilus list view is constantly adjusting size of the columns
Not merely a cosmetic bug. It steals focus from activities being performed. The big issue for me is that you can't create dead space to right click and make a new folder. The Name column resizes to make the columns take the whole width of the window, and thus there is no where to right-click without bringing up the context menu for the specific line you're right clicking on.
