[Bug 1181519] [NEW] Strange work with the icons

2013-05-18 Thread Constantine
Public bug reported:

As it's known, for many years neither Gnome nor KDE developed any convenient
tools to work with links(like Windows' shortcuts). today I downloaded Eclipse
package andd tried to make a link to it's executable file. Here is what I got:

That would be great if you developed much more sane ways to work with links

I do understand that a general user would use soft provided from
repositories but I find it limiting a great range of possibilities a
modern OS can provide to it's user.

GNOME project is known for it's total ignoring users' requests about
different improvements. So hope you accept this feature request.

[Bug 1144204] Re: Empathy asks for account authorisation, but fails

2013-05-18 Thread James Hudon
This still affects me on raring. Using the latest empathy:
Architecture: amd64
Version: 3.6.4-0ubuntu4

Various accounts show up at the top of the Empathy contact list with the
message account account requires authorisation. I click on the
planet/key icon, it opens up the account settings but everything is
active (no action needs to be taken), and then the message in Empathy
disappears. I've seen the message appear for Google, Facebook and
Windows Live accounts.

[Bug 1181562] [NEW] Hard Disk Problems Detected warning is duplicated too many times without user interaction

2013-05-18 Thread madbiologist
Public bug reported:

I have a disk whose SMART status correctly reports as failing. This is
reported in Ubuntu by the Disk Utility - see the attached screenshot.
If I walk away from the computer for a while, when I return there are
many of these message boxes stacked on top of each other. The Examine
button is highlighted by default but there is no scenario where I
need/want more than 1 or possibly 2 Examine Windows open concurrently or
even sequentially, so I must repeatedly click OK with my mouse to
dismiss all of these messages. It would be better if the first message
box inhibited the display of further message boxes until it is
dismissed.

Note: The issue that this an old-style message box rather than using
the new notify-osd notifications is covered in bug #412440. Fixing that
bug might fix this bug also, but in the meantime (or if that bug is
closed as Wont-Fix) it would be beneficial to fix this bug.

[Bug 1073913] Re: Nautilus list view is constantly adjusting size of the columns

2013-05-18 Thread Dustin Wyatt
Not merely a cosmetic bug.

It steals focus from activities being performed. The big issue for me
is that you can't create dead space to right click and make a new
folder. The Name column resizes to make the columns take the whole
width of the window, and thus there is no where to right-click without
bringing up the context menu for the specific line you're right clicking
on.

Regardless, this bug is still present in 13.04.

[Bug 1181601] [NEW] Right click Set as Wallpaper creates duplicates of source file

2013-05-18 Thread bear7
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 13.04 (Unity) from the right click menu (on the picture file)
when set as Wallpaper is selected wallpaper is changed however source
file is copied (not moved) into ~/Pictures/Wallpapers which btw is also
created. Original file is still located in original location (for
example on the desktop) - so, file is really duplicated.

If source file is already located inside ~/Picutres/Wallpapers folder,
file is also duplicated: new file has (copy) added to his name (ie.:
name_of_file (copy).jpg).

Workaround for this is to open file in Eye of GNOME Image Viewer and
choose set as wallpaper from the right click menu which works fine.

[Bug 1175547] Re: photo viewer closes by itself when opening picture

2013-05-18 Thread Kai Krueger
I still have this all the time, with a wide range of jpegs. Sometimes
when I open them eog is stable, but very often it crashes about a second
after loading (and showing the image) for the same image.

It sounds like this is the same issue, so I'll add to this bug report:

I am also on Ubuntu 13.04.

When running eog from the command line, I get the following error
report:

eog 20130518_132058.jpg
eog: /build/buildd/cairo-1.12.14/src/cairo-mempool.c:160: get_buddy: Assertion
`offset + (1 bits) = pool-num_blocks' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

The stack trace isn't much more helpful, as I don't have debug symbols
for libcairo, but I'll attache it just in case.

[Bug 1181454] Re: empathy-accounts crashes on launch

2013-05-18 Thread Kane DAAAA
I think this may have been a problem with Ubuntu itself, and not
Empathy...

I just finished upgrading to 13.04, and now I'm able to manage accounts
via Users Online Accounts
