[Bug 825775] Re: Siliencing NickServ/ChanServ

2013-06-06 Thread bayo
Yesterday i enable the sound notification of my system... and this morning
Nickserv wakeup me one more time... Then men, iv got the solution, you can
disable the sound notifications. Trust me, it fix this bug.
BTW i receive 10-15 messages from nickserv per days, it is really annoying, but
fortunatly i only join one IRC server.

[Bug 682788] Re: Improve Unity Global Menu

2013-06-06 Thread quequotion
>>Leonardo Donelli
HUD is not amazing. It's extremely inconvenient and nigh-useless. I can't
imagine anyone actually making use of that poorly designed garbage. I really
have nothing nice to say about this "feauture" except that I appreciate having
a place to disable it in ccsm.

As for the global menu, I'm pretty happy with it.

I'd be more happy if it could pick up menus from SUID programs, so I
could have a consistent interface.

I would like to see it more clearly distinguish the begining of the menu
from the close/restore/minimize buttons, and I've always had a dream
that someday developers will learn how to export menus from applications
running through WINE.

I also dream of development toward a more portable / intercompatible
global menu to use with other desktops, or more flexibilty with menu
designs, which requires cooperation from the various desktop development
teams.

Some of that dream:
Since it exports menus over D-BUS, it can send them anywhere. They don't have
to be a menu across the top. The elementary developers have their own ideas for
menu placement: a single menu button in one corner of the program. Some users
might like that a lot, others want menus in programs like they used to be, and
others like me enjoy a global menu. Why not develop a configurable
menu-exporter? Something that picked up the menu over DBUS and then sent it to
a user-configured location.

[Bug 514995] Relay for Life

2013-06-06 Thread DeBoss
I will be walking in the South Windsor "Relay for Life". As many are
aware, I am a cancer survivor, and am walking to help raise money in the

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

[Bug 1187189] Re: Kernel crash and reboot when accessing video device

2013-06-06 Thread Steve Langasek
Apparently I missed something in the changelog; but this workaround to
lxc-android-config has been uploaded. Changelog entry:

lxc-android-config (0.14) saucy; urgency=low

  * Add diversions for /lib/udev/rules.d/50-firmware.rules and
/lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-v4l.rules: the first because all of
our firmware currently lives where only ueventd sees it (meaning udev
will return false-negatives for firmware load requests), the second
because even with the firmware loading out of the way, v4l_id probes
of video devices are causing kernel panics immediately after boot
(on mako) due to udev starting earlier than ueventd. This works around
LP: 1187189.

[Bug 1188379] Re: Processor overhead

2013-06-06 Thread Seth Arnold
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1188346] [NEW] fills $HOME/.cache/gdm/session.log

Public bug reported:

Rhythmbox fills $HOME/.cache/gdm/session.log with a constant error
stream resulting in gigabytes per minute of the exact same error no

If this is truley a critical error it should crash or at least quit

2013-06-06 Thread marianitn
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 787465 ***

This is still present on Precise. As a workaround, I use gconf-editor to
unset /apps/gnome-terminal/profiles/Default/default_show_menubar key,
but I'd rather gnome-terminal to remember my preferences, as is the
expected behavior.

2013-06-06 Thread Peter Lemieux
I discovered this bug today after installing elinks into a Kubuntu 13.04
system. Apparently elinks wants to access the keyring. It does not
keep the program from loading or working, but it does throw a warning
every time the program is opened from the command prompt.

[Bug 875878] Re: Easymp3gain Hangs when clicking Add File or Add Folder

2013-06-06 Thread Matthias Klumpp
Since eMp3Gain ist more or less dead upstream, I don't expect anything to
happen... I suggest everyone to try the new build from Saucy, which is built
against a fresh LCL which shouldn't have this problem and also provides a
(working) Qt4 build of the package.
That should solve the issue.

[Bug 1188293] [NEW] Terminal window does not retain original window size when un-maximized

2013-06-06 Thread Ian Santopietro
Public bug reported:

TEST CASE
1. Press Ctrl+Alt+T to open a terminal window.
2. Drag the window to the top panel to maximize it.
3. Restore the window by dragging down from the top panel or using the restore
window button.

ACTUAL RESULT
The terminal window remains large, as if it hadn't been restored (It isn't
attached to the screen, though).

EXPECTED RESULT
The Terminal returns to it's original size.

Note that this doesn't happen if the window is maximized using the
Maximize window button.

[Bug 828756] Re: getting "connection is untrusted" warnings

2013-06-06 Thread apienk
I might have a clue. The bug appeared right after I added 'empathy -h'
to auto-start applications, and it manifests on every cold (reboot) or
warm start (after hibernating). So it seems that gnome-keyring daemon is
still restarting while empathy tries to access the certificates. A
simple wait would fix it.

Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 3.2.0-47-generic amd64 using Unity shell

2013-06-06 Thread Matthias Clasen
Also note that xev output being identical is pretty irrelevant here,
since xev only reports the core key events, not xkb data. that can be
extracted from the combination of key events + xkb maps.

[Bug 937822]

2013-06-06 Thread Matthias Clasen
type "CTRL+ALT" {
modifiers = Control+Alt+Shift+LevelThree;
map[None] = Level1;
map[Shift] = Level2;
map[LevelThree] = Level3;
map[Shift+LevelThree] = Level4;
map[Control+Alt] = Level5;
preserve[Shift] = Shift;
preserve[Shift+LevelThree] = Shift;
level_name[Level1] = "Base";
level_name[Level2] = "Shift";
level_name[Level3] = "Alt Base";
level_name[Level4] = "Shift Alt";
level_name[Level5] = "Ctrl+Alt";
};

Here is a modified type for CTRL+ALT that works in my testing.
It is similar to the one in comment 17, but avoids blowing up the map with lots
of new entries.

With this map, XkbTranslateKeyCode still translates Shift-F10 into F10
at level1, but the Shift modifier is now preserved, so GTK+ uses it when
matching accelerators, and thus F10 and Shift-F10 can once again have
different bindings.

I'm reopening this.
My own investigation confirms the finding in comment 17.
The xkeyboard-config changes in 2.4.1 make XKB translate Shift-F10 into F10
with level one, while telling my that the Shift modifier got consumed.
