[Bug 1190584] [NEW] Gnome screensaver don't disappear after login - screen hanged

2013-06-13 Thread David Kovar
Public bug reported:

If my computer is locked and I would like to open it and return back to
desktop, screensaver will hang.
Steps to reproduce:
1) Lock desktop using standard Gnome3 feature
2) Hit Escape key to raise curtain, place password and hit Enter
3) Now password dialog disappear, but gray dusty background stays. It seems it
is only a problem of visible screensaver background, because desktop is still
responsive. Mouse cursor is moving, Alt-Tab displays Application switcher,
Ctrl-Alt-Delete shows Logout dialog etc. I can even close applications using
Alt-F4 shortcut (they disappear from Application switcher), but still I can't
see them. They are hiddend somewhere under Gnome screensaver.

This issue occure time by time. Maybe something must be launched, but it
is very annoying, because I must close my session without possibility to
save my work.

[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find

2013-06-13 Thread Abraxas
I also agree on this. I used the lookahead as my primary navigation
through complex filesystems. I have so many like-named subdirectories
that this new feature is dropping my efficiency pretty badly. I was
hoping to avoid using any of the cinnamon forks until/unless they became
officially embraced by Ubuntu (just for compatibility reasons), but I'm
a little stuck.

No rant here, just the facts, ma'am.

Thank you for your report!

However, processing it in order to get sufficient information for the

Please upgrade your system to the latest package versions. If you still
encounter the crash, please file a new report.

[Bug 1190686] [NEW] nautilus ignores color profiles in images

2013-06-13 Thread pdknsk
Public bug reported:

When you have an image with an embedded ICC profile, nautilus simply
discards the profile and shows the image with wrong colors. I have
noticed this in two occasions.

1. Automatically generated thumbnails in the file manager.
2. Wallpapers.

I'm not sure nautilus is responsible for the latter. I also reported is
a Unity bug.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/1187352

To reproduce this, extract both images from the attached archive. The
first picture has an embedded profile, the other was converted to the
standard sRGB color space with the profile stripped.

Open both images in a profile aware image viewer, such as eog. There is
no color difference.

Then go to the folder where you stored them, switch to icon view and let
nautilus automatically make thumbnails. Use Ctrl+ till you have maximum
thumbnail size. You will notice that the original picture with profile
is less vibrant, and green in particular is more yellowish.

2013-06-13 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please
tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a
bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1113648] Re: Add a context menu entry to create a new blank file

2013-06-13 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I'm reopening this bug for Saucy since this patch won't work with
Nautilus 3.8 which we'd like to add for Ubuntu 13.10 since it fixes
numerous bugs and adds back a form of tree navigation.

This patch took advantage of a bug that has since been fixed. Nautilus
developers prefer that users create whatever templates they want to use
themselves in the ~/Templates/ directory. Perhaps we could add a
~/Templates/Text File in /etc/skel/ but that will only work for new users.
