[Bug 1148033] Re: GDBus.Error:org.openobex:Error.Failed: Unable to request session
Ubuntu 13.04, affects me too. Running on an ASUS EeePC 1005PE. Tried to transfer files between the PC and a smartphone running Android 4.1. Tried installing blueman on the PC and using it instead of the default bluetooth applet, didn't help. Sometimes blueman could transfer small (30kB) files from the PC to the phone correctly, but large files (3MB) would randomly hang the transfer. When sending any file from the phone to the PC, the transfer would hang at the connecting stage. However, while blueman is installed and running, it seems that the default bluetooth applet (but not blueman) can transfer files correctly. Such behaviour has also been reported by others. So, as a temporary workaround, I followed the instructions here: http://krazyabouttechnology.blogspot.fi/2013/05/solution-bluetooth-not- working-after_3.html to have just one bluetooth icon even though both the default bluetooth applet and blueman are running at the same time. Now the transfer seems to work in both directions. Would appreciate if this was fixed properly :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1148033 Title: GDBus.Error:org.openobex:Error.Failed: Unable to request session To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/1148033/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1193850] [NEW] gnome-screensaver exposes sensitive data
*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported: People depend heavily on the lock screen (rightfully or wrongfully) to prevent others from seeing sensitive data. gnome-screensaver can easily expose this sensitive data. Example: During day: 1. Network boot Ubuntu into GUI 2. Open sensitive document 3. CTRL-ALT-F[1-6] and use a TTY 4. Logout of TTY and attend meeting 5. Go home an hour later At this point a user has a reasonable expectation of his or her sensitive document being secure believing a password (or physical access to server) will be needed to see the sensitive information. At night: 6. Record screen with mobile 7. CTRL-ALT-F7 (the document will briefly be displayed before the lock screen) 8. CTRL-ALT-F[1-6] back to the original TTY to hide your tracks 9. Go frame by frame through the video to retrieve the sensitive information I wouldn't call this an enhancement because I spoke to several users and ALL of them had the expectation their data would not be visible. People were especially sensitive to the reading of private chat sessions. Users didn't expect just anyone could go from cubical to cubical at night secretly exposing screens. Whenever a user has a screen lock the locking application needs to ensure contents of the screen won't be visible after the lockout time. If it is really so hard to clear the contents of the screen then turn off output of the video card when the user hits CTRL-ALT-F7 until the sensitive data is gone. cat /etc/issue Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS \n \l Package: gnome-screensaver Priority: optional Section: gnome Installed-Size: 412 Maintainer: Ubuntu Desktop Team ubuntu-desk...@lists.ubuntu.com Original-Maintainer: Guilherme de S. [Bug 1193893] [NEW] Nautilus crashes/freezes when trying to open file while copy in progress
Public bug reported: I run into this when copying several hundreds of photos from an SD card to a server. The problem is fully reproducible. I can reproduce the bug like this: 1) Open a Nautilus window to view contents of an SD card (plugged into a USB 2.0 reader). 2) Open another window to view destination folder on the server. 3) Start to copy (drag'n'drop) photos from the SD card to the server as a one big chunk so that the whole process will take several minutes to complete. 4) Try to view a photo from the SD card while the copy is still in progress. Thank you for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. In the Software Updates app, please switch to the Updates tab and uncheck the Pre-released updates (saucy-proposed) box. Proposed is not meant for use during the development cycle since it's just a temporary holding area for packages to be built and in some cases minimally tested before release to the regular development archives. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution-data-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1193963 Title: package evolution-data-server-uoa 3.8.3-0ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/accounts/applications /evolution-data-server.application', which is also in package evolution-data-server-common 3.8.3-0ubuntu2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-data-server/+bug/1193963/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 859600] Re: Please convert gnome-keyring to multiarch
Yes, I did. But I don't see why gnome-keyring is marked as Multi-Arch: foreign and libpam-gnome-keyring is converted to Mutli-Arch: same. As I see it, it is sufficient to make 'libp11-kit-gnome-keyring' as Multi-Arch: same and be done with it. To resolve the warning from wine you would have to explicitly install the new libp11-kit package for i386. I hope I'll get around to posting a working patch for 12.04 later today. BTW, how is the new libp11-kit-gnome-keyring supposed to find it's way to the affected users? Will wine declare a dependency on libp11-kit-gnome-keyring:i386 or something?
