[Bug 1132063] Re: Mouse settings missing from Mouse & Touchpad dialog

2013-07-02 Thread Hughie Wilmshurst
Same problem here with a cheap ebay wireless mouse, which was working
absolutely fine until I installed 13.04 fresh (was previously working on
13.04 after upgrading from 12.10).

$ xinput
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2[master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointerid=4[slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ 2.4GWirelessMouse id=10 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3[master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=6[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Video Bus id=7[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Power Button id=8[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ 2.4GWirelessMouse id=9[slave keyboard (3)]
↳ USB Keyboardid=11 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ USB Keyboardid=12 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ Eee PC WMI hotkeysid=13 [slave keyboard (3)]

I have the exact same mouse plugged into my laptop, also running 13.04
(upgraded from 12.10) and that is also working absolutely fine, I can
adjust the sensitivity without issue.

[Bug 1132063] Re: Mouse settings missing from Mouse & Touchpad dialog

2013-07-02 Thread Hughie Wilmshurst
I can't seem to edit my previous comment, so here's a new one - I just
noticed that actually, on my laptop, I am also missing the settings -
the settings I do have are for the touchpad, not the wireless mouse I'm
using. However, the settings were present in 12.10, as I had to adjust
them to reduce the sensitivity.

I have just found an app in Ubuntu Software Centre called "Keyboard &
Mouse" which does allow the adjustment of the mouse sensitivity and
acceleration, and it has worked, so I recommend anyone else with that
issue should try that!

I had the same problem with MS Sculpt Bluetooth Mouse under
opensuse/KDE. Thanks to your posts I could solve the problem by just
manually entering the pin "" while establishing the connection. So,
there was no "su" action necessary.

[Bug 1196772] Re: video streaming locking up

2013-07-02 Thread Daniel Letzeisen
A few things:
1) Your description doesn't seem to have anything to do with nautilus (unless
I'm misunderstanding). Please clarify what program/browser you're using to view
the videos

2) You're using an older/EOL version of Ubuntu (11.10)

3) Using the Flash plugin to view video takes a lot of CPU power and is
known to overheat inadequately-cooled systems. You should monitor the
CPU temp.

After a little bit of experimenting I found a valid workaround for me:

Nevertheless one should fix this nasty regression for those users not
accustomed to
setting variables, looking through forums and bug trackers etc.

[Bug 1069074] Re: Upgrade from 12.04 and Evolution is randomly crashing on opening or deleting random emails

2013-07-02 Thread moron
Possibly related to webkit? Seeing similar behaviour with Ubuntu 12.10
/ Evolution 3.6.2 when preview is enabled for messages. If preview is
enabled, some messages (not sure the pattern yet) will cause Evolution
to hang when the preview tries to load. If preview is disabled, message
can be viewed successfully by clicking on message.

[Bug 872806] Re: GIMP and unity-panel-service go mayhem while opening files

2013-07-02 Thread Kevin Daughtridge
This occurs for me (Intel Ivy Bridge, HD Graphics 4000, Saucy) even
without opening multiple or large images. Any operation on any one image
makes the Gimp global menu unresponsive for seconds, or permanently. I
also get a spike in unity-panel-service CPU usage.

[Bug 1076232] Re: Build with tracker support

2013-07-02 Thread Aaron Brubacher
wait...does that mean that mangelasakis' comment is incorrect? My
impression from his comment is that this is fixed in newer versions. I
tried switching to >3.6 but it was to much of a pain on 12.10. I'm gonna
upgrade soon anyways, for now I will stick to my custom build.

If the issue does still exist in gnome3-team's PPA then I definately
agree that it should be fixed in nautilus, ideally with a runtime config
option I think.
