[Bug 1193893] Re: Nautilus crashes/freezes when trying to open file while copy in progress

2013-08-01 Thread Rytis
On a new installation of Ubuntu 13.06, dragged the dropbox folder from old home
directory to home directory to move it.
Nautilus froze. Nothing happened in a while so I force closed it. Now it
opens with frozen blank window, and takes up loads of cpu, but never loads up.
Dropbox installation was open in the background while this happened.

[Bug 245924] Re: Rhythmbox tracks stats on paths, not songs

2013-08-01 Thread Si Dedman
Solution could also be as per https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538549
similar to this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/394095
which would additionally solve this one:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rhythmbox/+bug/502474
as well as any (I didn't search for them) relating to migrating libraries
in/out of RB to other (especially other FOSS) players.

It would be truly lovely if this could be bumped up in importance - I
know that's an odd request, but a simple solution which writes playcount
& rating to the file would solve numerous bugs affecting many people in
one fell swoop. Hence [multiple bugs * low importance] = [single
challenge * medium/high importance]

[Bug 394095] Re: doesn't deal correctly with renames outside of rhythmbox

2013-08-01 Thread Si Dedman
(IMO) The way to solve this is as per this ancient bug here:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538549
Even if there's no agreement with other FOSS music players about a shared
standard (which would be a shame, for the record), it's so disappointing that
this has lain dormant for >5 years, despite being a thorn in people's sides
over and over again...

[Bug 1205562] [NEW] [background] wallpapers in grid are too small, take long time to load

2013-08-01 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

1. From GNOME Shell, right-click on the desktop and select Change Background…
(If not running GNOME Shell, run XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME gnome-control-center
background )
2. Click on the big wallpaper button

What should happen

The default wallpapers show up within about a second or two. There's room for
about 9 wallpapers that fully fill the white part of the window (3 rows and 3
columns although the bottom row only shows the top half of the wallpapers).

What happens
===
Recently in Saucy, the wallpapers started showing up much smaller than they
should. There's room for about 16 in a single row. Also the wallpapers take
much, much longer to load than previously. On my laptop, it took about 37
seconds for the first row of wallpapers to finish showing up. Screenshot
attached.

Notably this does not affect Ubuntu 13.04 with the GNOME3 PPA which
includes quite a bit of GNOME 3.8 backported including GTK+ 3.8.2. The
GNOME3 PPA does not currently include an updated gnome-control-center
and gnome-settings-daemon (Ubuntu 13.04 ships 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu24.1).

https://launchpad.net/~gnome3-team/+archive/gnome3/+packages?field.series_filter=raring

This has not yet been reported in gnome-control-center's bugzilla nor
have any relevant commits been made to the background panel in trunk:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-control-center/log/panels/background

Here are many different comments. Who is still affected by this bug?
The latest version from GIMP with 2.6 is 2.6.12 that is in Ubuntu 12.04

Then I would make an upstream bug report.

[Bug 18505] Re: Can cause corruption if cancel while a save is in progress

2013-08-01 Thread Thomas Hotz
** Changed in: gimp (Ubuntu)
Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) => (unassigned)

** Description changed:

  Steps to reproduce:

  1) Create a large image (screenshot as png is fine for older hardware)
  2) Open the image in the gimp and modify it
  3) Click the window close cross in the top right hand corner - a dialog should
pop up asking to save the changes
  4) Click 'Save'
  5) Quickly click the window close cross in the top right hand corner of the
main
  gimp window
  6) Click 'Discard changes'
  7) Image is corrupted if the Discard changes was clicked before the previous
  save finished.

This is counter-intuitive - if I'm in the middle of a save, the close window
cross should bring up a dialog indicating a save is in progress - regardless
whether I click close on the image window or the main window.

[Bug 570787] Re: brasero calls kpackagekit for finding toc2cue

2013-08-01 Thread Petux
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 529696 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/529696

Ureeka! - just found the answer to the bug!!

The reported missing package is toc2cue - but actually it should read
cue2toc. So the command to install should be

 # sudo apt-get install cue2toc

Have also installed the cdrdao package

Hope that helps some...
