[Bug 1225855] [NEW] Impossible to select only DVD drive as source when trying to make an ISO

2013-09-15 Thread Sah Lee
Public bug reported:

To reproduce:
1. Insert a DVD to your only drive.
2. Open Brasero, select "Disc copy".
3. Try select the DVD you just inserted from the upper drop-down list.

Expected:
The DVD is selected and then you can input a destination for the ISO to make.

Actually:
Brasero just won't let you select the DVD.

I don't have an environment with more than one drive to test whether
this is triggered by having one only drive installed.

[Bug 883256] Re: unnecessary separation of keyboard and keyboard layout

2013-09-15 Thread Jeremy Bicha
I think this is improved in Ubuntu 13.10. Although there are still two
separate panels, the Keyboard one is for keyboard settings and
shortcuts. The Region & Language panel manages all the language-related
settings. They use different icons.

[Bug 1225815] [NEW] mahjongg remains dimmed under certain conditions

2013-09-15 Thread Justin Stressman
Public bug reported:

When you finish a game of mahjongg and choose New Game from the scores
list, if you immediately whip your mouse into the top left corner (in
Gnome 3) to switch to the overview mode while that new game is still
loading, your mahjongg game will be greyed out, and will remain greyed
out when you switch back to it.

Since I, by habit, quickly flip my mouse up to the top left between
games to check my other windows for new messages etc, this happens to me
quite often. The game is still playable, and I can even just close and
reopen the game if I want, but it's still a minor irritation and a
pretty clear cut bug.

This is on Ubuntu 13.04. I did a pretty stripped install and only added
Gnome 3 etc. So much of Unity isn't installed. (I ended up with a
desktop that is something like a precursor to Ubuntu Gnome)

The version is Gnome Mahjongg 3.8.0.

[Bug 1225785] [NEW] syncing of input sources to accounts services is broken

2013-09-15 Thread Tim
Public bug reported:

There is a g_variant type mismatch in the patches that sync input-
sources to accountsservice

(gnome-settings-daemon:6777): AccountsService-CRITICAL **:
act_user_set_input_sources: assertion 'g_variant_is_of_type (sources,
G_VARIANT_TYPE ("aa{ss}"))' failed

org.gnome.desktop.input-sources sources is actually of type "a(ss)"

As far as I can tell this syncing would have never worked.

[Bug 1225698] [NEW] btrfs ssd gedit deletes files

2013-09-15 Thread Markus Fritsche
Public bug reported:

I have my home directory running on btrfs mounted with the following options:
/dev/sda2 on /home type btrfs
(rw,relatime,ssd,discard,compress=lzo,subvol=@home)

When I use gedit to edit a lua-script (not specifically gedit - it's the
underlying component I think, because the same happens with ZeroBrane
Studio), the file gets deleted, but saving will not work saying that
there has been a conflict.

Trying to save anyways will yield many conflict files:
mfritsche@volta:~/Documents/btw$ ls fetchPages.lua*
fetchPages.lua~fetchPages.lua.u1conflict.1
fetchPages.lua.u1conflict.3
fetchPages.lua.u1conflict fetchPages.lua.u1conflict.2

I have "eatmydata" installed too.

Is there a problem with the combination of btrfs, ssd+discard, eatmydata
and gedit?

After a while of leaving gedit alone, I can save the file again.

[Bug 1067110] Re: Weather report can't set unit preferences

2013-09-15 Thread Aleksi-ajp
Same bug in Fedora 19, I found accidentally workaround where if you use
gnome shell weather extension (h
ttps://extensions.gnome.org/extension/613/weather/ ) and change its
settings on which unit you want to see, it affects Gnome Weather's units
as well :P probably due to changing same configs as Piotr mentioned in
his workaround. (funny though the weather extension itself doesn't work
for me :P )

[Bug 296867] Re: empathy needs to support OTR encryption

2013-09-15 Thread Bengt Lüers
Bounty is now at 400 USD. Make that 4000 USD and someone with the
required skills can spend a month between two jobs collecting it. Sadly,
FreedomSponsors seems quite unpopular, so that people in the right
position might not see the tender offer. Are there perhaps other
platforms one could advertise for it? Maybe freelancing sites or so?

[Bug 1195867] Re: codeblocks crashed with SIGABRT in g_type_check_instance_cast()

2013-09-15 Thread Simon K
It seems like "wxITEM_RADIO" isn't compatible with Ubuntu?
I've recompiled the whole code-blocks ("codeblocks-12.11release8629" as
download able on the official site) and commented out every line with
"AppendRadioItem" in it. Build the source via:
$ ./configure --prefix /usr --with-contrib-plugins=all
$ make

it didn't crash in this version (there were just warnings that those
radio-items aren't initialized). It started to a full window, which
seemed (at least) similar to the screenshots at codeblocks.org

I've found a thread in the codeblocks forums:
http://forums.codeblocks.org/index.php?/topic,18088.msg123705.html
where the assumption was made, that this crash is due to Ubuntu-Gtk+ patches.

[Bug 1225615] [NEW] file copy time is calculated wrong

2013-09-15 Thread Mr.Gosh
Public bug reported:

When I copy I file from my notebook to any other device (e.g. SMB share,
USB Stick, etc.) than the copy time is calculated by the reed speed of
the origin - and not by the write speed of the destination - what would
be the expected behaviour.

That is not a nautilus bug, because the same happens in terminel with
midnight commander - mc - ...

The whole file is cached in ram - but on an ssd that means - after 2-3
seconds nautilus and mc show the file as copied and nautilus than often
freezes - but in system statistics you can see him now writing to
destination. sometimes nautilus than wakes up and continue to work, and
sometimes it doesnt...

why is this calculated this way...?
