I have the same problem with one display. Looks like that problem in compiz or intel driver. [Bug 1231230] [NEW] Rescue on server image fails to detect partitions
You have been subscribed to a public bug: Image: 20130925.1 amd64 server 1. install with guided partitioning, no lvm, raid, or encryption 2. reboot from the cdimage 3. select rescue It tells me that there were no root partitions found to mount, but clearly there is one. I exited out to a shell, and was able to mount it by hand just fine. I did notice in the syslog (after mounting): rescue-mode: no partitions found! I have run into the same problem with a linked /tmp directory, and this work-around worked for me. I have /tmp linked because of an SSD+HD configuration, which isn't all that uncommon. This really shouldn't break out-of-the-box like this. First, you can't create a single interface for mobile devices and desktops and who in the hell said they wanted it? MS tried and failed, and so has Ubuntu with Unity. Some things are just illogical. Second, I used to like Gnome and used it exclusively and I'm disgusted by all the downgrades and screwups. One two occasions a simple update has broken Gnome and left me scrambling to get my system repaired so I can work. So I'm going to try xfce and if I'm not feeling better about things, switch to a different Linux. You would think with all these complaints someone would pay attention. I would like to have someone from Gnome answer these complaints without saying "we think this is better and so do our Moms." A lot of software is ruined with the "Hey, watch this" behavior. People that want to run Unity are people who have simple needs - email, a word processor and a browser. I can confirm this as well and spoke to an Apple "genius" about it at the store. The exploit that was made sometime back with a usb cable used as a trojan dongle got thier attention. They noted that a Linux kernel was present on the device and decided to flag Linux in general in ios7 as malicious. I guess they forgot about us again as usual. I am using the ubuntu one to move my photos and such. Not happy at all. I'm on Ubuntu 12.04, and each of the Steam for Linux games I've played that support gamepads don't seem to inhibit the screensaver themselves. It seems like the Trash icon has some sort of database of mounted drives to keep tabs of items that have been deleted, and then does not refresh this database to only display the status of actually mounted drives. Since it can never "Empty" the trash of unmounted drives, the display remains showing items to be removed on unmounted or removed drives (and the removable drives could have their Trash actually emptied on other systems anyway). I made a move and installed Solus OS thinking that there were many more media libraries pre-installed. The DCIM folder was mounted without the fault after tapping the "trust" button on the phone. Will dig futher into this to find the cause.
