[Bug 379382] Re: gnome-screenshot (Alt-Printscreen) black/blanks out top of windows in multi monitor xinerama

2013-09-26 Thread Vladimir Plotnikov
I have the same problem with one display. Looks like that problem in
compiz or intel driver. After compiz restart screnshot is well.

[Bug 1231230] [NEW] Rescue on server image fails to detect partitions

2013-09-26 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Image: 20130925.1 amd64 server

1. install with guided partitioning, no lvm, raid, or encryption
2. reboot from the cdimage
3. select rescue

It tells me that there were no root partitions found to mount, but
clearly there is one. I exited out to a shell, and was able to mount it
by hand just fine.

I did notice in the syslog (after mounting):
rescue-mode: no partitions found!
EXT3-fs (sda1): error: couldn't mount because of unsupported optional features
(240)
EXT4-fs (sda1): recovery complete
EXT4-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode. Opts: (null)

** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1032812] Re: evince crashes on invoking print dialog

2013-09-26 Thread Babaei
I have run into the same problem with a linked /tmp directory, and this
work-around worked for me.

I have /tmp linked because of an SSD+HD configuration, which isn't all
that uncommon. This really shouldn't break out-of-the-box like this. At
the very least, these work-around instructions should be easier to find.

[Bug 771896] Re: No way to save current session

2013-09-26 Thread Gary
First, you can't create a single interface for mobile devices and desktops and
who in the hell said they wanted it? MS tried and failed, and so has Ubuntu
with Unity. Some things are just illogical. Second, I used to like Gnome and
used it exclusively and I'm disgusted by all the downgrades and screwups. One
two occasions a simple update has broken Gnome and left me scrambling to get my
system repaired so I can work. So I'm going to try xfce and if I'm not feeling
better about things, switch to a different Linux.
You would think with all these complaints someone would pay attention.

I would like to have someone from Gnome answer these complaints without
saying "we think this is better and so do our Moms." A lot of software
is ruined with the "Hey, watch this" behavior. People that want to run
Unity are people who have simple needs - email, a word processor and a
browser. That is not the majority of Linux users.

[Bug 887821] Re: "Show copy dialog" right click launcher entry doesn't work (on nautilus copy)

2013-09-26 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Steven, or anyone else affected,

Accepted nautilus into precise-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
http://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/1:3.4.2-0ubuntu9 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1215098] Re: iPhone with iOS 7 does not work on Ubuntu

2013-09-26 Thread psycosmyth
I can confirm this as well and spoke to an Apple "genius" about it at the
store. The exploit that was made sometime back with a usb cable used as a
trojan dongle got thier attention. They noted that a Linux kernel was present
on the device and decided to flag Linux in general in ios7 as malicious. I
guess they forgot about us again as usual. I am using the ubuntu one to move my
photos and such. Not happy at all.

[Bug 30378] Re: Joystick activity does not stop the screensaver

2013-09-26 Thread Chris Cowan
I'm on Ubuntu 12.04, and each of the Steam for Linux games I've played
that support gamepads don't seem to inhibit the screensaver themselves.
I don't know if it's realistic to expect them to all patch to deal with
this themselves, and I'm not sure the responsibility should be on them.

[Bug 269441] Re: Trash always full

2013-09-26 Thread David Clayton
It seems like the Trash icon has some sort of database of mounted drives
to keep tabs of items that have been deleted, and then does not refresh
this database to only display the status of actually mounted drives.

Since it can never "Empty" the trash of unmounted drives, the display
remains showing items to be removed on unmounted or removed drives (and
the removable drives could have their Trash actually emptied on other
systems anyway).

It seems that the Trash icon needs to hook into the mount/unmount
processes to keep itself only displaying the status of drives that are
actually mounted on the system at any particular time.

[Bug 1215098] Re: iPhone with iOS 7 does not work on Ubuntu

2013-09-26 Thread psycosmyth
I made a move and installed Solus OS thinking that there were many more
media libraries pre-installed. The DCIM folder was mounted without the
fault after tapping the "trust" button on the phone. Will dig futher
into this to find the cause. Possible camera library because the
applications' folder does not seem to mount at all though.
