[Bug 1245473] Re: Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program

2013-11-09 Thread Lockal
Highly important for blender. Blender uses all kind of keyboard
shortcuts: ctrl+alt+key, ctrl+shift+key, ctrl+alt+key,
ctrl+alt+shift+key, control+space, shift+space, alt+space,
ctrl+alt+space... There is an alternative way to get access to these
functions, but shortcuts are essential in blender (like in vim). List of
keyboard shortcuts in blender (only for 2 modes, while blender has about
10 different modes):

[Bug 1249700] [NEW] evolution-source-registry locks keyboard and mouse input

2013-11-09 Thread Dario Bertini
Public bug reported:

I updated ubuntu to 13.10, and now every time I login, I get the dreaded
bug #1142511

What's weird, is that the calendar auth popup doesn't let me interact
with anything else on the screen

I can only:

input a wrong password... the popup will disappear and reapper, still locking
the whole interface
input a good password (maybe, I can't test it, since it'd need an
application-specific password, and I can't open a browser to procure it)
select cancel... the popup is dismissed
press ctrl+alt+f#, and in a terminal kill the evolution-source-registry
process... this will let me go on

[Bug 1181344] Re: python-keyring timeout on import if started with sudo

2013-11-09 Thread Germar
I agree with you that this is a gnome-keyring bug (didn't know how dbus
works when I reported this)

$ cat /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.secrets.service
[D-BUS Service]
Name=org.freedesktop.secrets
Exec=/usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground --components=secrets

This file is the same on all systems I tested. If I run the Exec command
with sudo the faulty systems report this:

$ sudo /usr/bin/gnome-keyring-daemon --start --foreground
--components=secrets

** (gnome-keyring-daemon:30328): WARNING **: couldn't create socket
directory: No such file or directory

** (gnome-keyring-daemon:30328): WARNING **: couldn't bind to control
socket: /root/.cache/keyring-9D34R9/control: No such file or directory

I created 'sudo mkdir /root/.cache' and voila no more timeout and no
more dbus exceptions :D

So the fix would be in gnome-keyring-daemon to create '$HOME/.cache' if
it isn't available.

Same for me, and I think it's because I'm on a .local domain and I

disable DAAP plugin.

thanks for your reply and sorry for my late answer. This seems to be a larger

also produces no logging at all). It is not bound to a specific PDF and applies
to all input fields (e.g. page and zoom text field). I'm completely stuck

I'm not sure it's upgrades that cause this issue, because I'm also

As mentioned in the bug description, this bug occures even when using

So this most probably indicates a bug in your Secret Service server,
which is probably gnome-keyring.

[Bug 1181344] Re: python-keyring timeout on import if started with sudo

2013-11-09 Thread Dmitry Shachnev
Can you please:

1) Check if the file /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.freedesktop.secrets.service
exists and paste its contents somewhere?
2) Install seahorse and check if it works (i.e. you can see a list of your
secrets).

[Bug 1181344] [NEW] python-keyring timeout on import if started with sudo

2013-11-09 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

steps to reproduce:

[GCC 4.7.2] on linux2

>>> import keyring

this will take ~25 seconds only on Xubuntu. If you do this on Ubuntu or
Kubuntu (all version 12.10) it will return immediately. Also if you
import keyring with normal user on Xubuntu it will return immediately.

It is caused by a dbus call in /usr/share/pyshared/keyring/backend.py function

[Bug 1218322] Re: Can't set keyboard layout change to alt+shift, ctrl+shift, etc.

2013-11-09 Thread Vlad Glushchuk
I use CapsLock to select English keyboard layout and Shift+CapsLock to
select Ukrainian.

If I ever need to type a Latin character I used to hit the CapsLock key
and then continue typing. I always hit Shift+CapsLock before typing a
Russian or Ukrainian phrase. Keyboard layout cycling never really worked
for me.

Since recent update I can use CapsLock key/Shift+CapsLock combo to cycle
between layouts but not to select the one I need.

I used setxkbmap as a temporary workaround, but it doesn't work any more
(it seems CapsLock key and Shift+CapsLock combo are being processed
before reaching the code controlled by setxkbmap). And if I set the
Shift+CapsLock combo as layout cycling shortcut, my guake terminal
window closes each time I hit the Shift+CapsLock combo which never
happened before.

I would like to suggest adding an option to the Layout/Shortcut settings
to set a shortcut for each layout selection.

Just updated gnome-control-center to 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu45.1, which fixed
nothing for me. Quoting myself here: "I used to switch layouts using
RightWin key, and now when I try to set the 'switch to next source' to
this key it shows just 'Next Group' (means nothing to me), and doesn't
work."

[Bug 1226962] Re: Hotkeys not functional in non-latin keyboard layout in 13.10

2013-11-09 Thread Artem M. Pelenitsyn
The workaround by Andreas (#52) seems to be broken (for me, at least) by
the last update of gnome-control-center - 1:3.6.3-0ubuntu45.1 — which
partially fixes 1218322 bug concerning hotkeys for layout switching (
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-
daemon/+bug/1218322 ). It worked before the update, but now switching to
"Russian (kbd (m17))" doesn't take effect at all (the layout stays
latin).

[Bug 1245209] [NEW] Flashback (no effects) session unusable in Ubuntu GNOME Saucy

2013-11-09 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I've recently starting testing the "flashback (no effects)" session in
Saucy and and I find that it works flawlessly in Edubuntu and Ubuntu but
it's totally unusable in Ubuntu GNOME. I'll post some screenshots soon,
but basically the menus and windows do not respond properly at all.

That said I'm fine if Ubuntu GNOME wants to say "won't fix" because it's
OK to say "that's not something we want to focus on"! I just don't want
to start any FUD :^)
