[Bug 1215098] Re: iPhone with iOS 7 does not work on Ubuntu

2013-11-29 Thread whalerus
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1207812 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1207812

I also have this problem ( iphone 4, ios 7.04) with debian 7. wheezy.
Strangely I don't have it with Ubuntu 12.04 lts. With Ubuntu I also use
windows 7 on virtualmachine where my itunes, phones back ups etc are.

My (old, one core) debian 7 pc is a double booting systen with windows
7. When the first version of the os 7 came I had the same issue: first
no tethering and no connection using usb. After trusting iphone on
windows 7 -side the problem was gone: usb tethering was working as it
should . Now, after updating to 7.04 the problem is here again. Visiting
windows 7 -side and trusting it did not help anymore. But stranglely
Ubuntu 12.04 lts works fine and I am able to use iphone as a modem
trough usb tethering. Unluckily I basicly don't need the connection on
my Ubuntu pc. But I need it on my debian pc.

[Bug 1256093] Re: nautilus hangs when trashing second file named in bad encoding

2013-11-29 Thread Ľubomír Mlích
Yes, you are right. I was reporting nautilus problem.

When I run

cd ~/.local/share/Trash/files
unzip /path/to/ěščřžýáíé.zip
unzip /path/to/ěščřžýáíé.zip

I'm asked if I want:
replace ?.txt? [y]es, [n]o, [A]ll, [N]one, [r]ename: r
new name: ?.2.txt

Perhaps Nautilus choose automaticatly rename to ?.2.txt and this
is where problem is.

I'm not sure how to insert badly encoded name into terminal. When I Copy
- Paste there are only question marks and I don't see bad encoding in
parathensis at end of name.

As I didn't see this problem on Ubuntu 13.10, it's possibly fixed in
newest Nautilus.

[Bug 1256414] [NEW] evince rotion bug with postscript files

2013-11-29 Thread JMB
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I ran in a problem with the final version of Xubuntu Saucy Salamander
(the flavour should not decisive in this case ... just for clarification).

evince is not able to render a side-viewed document (1x rotation left/right),
while 2x rotation (i.e. upside-down) works.
gv as well as okula both don't have any problem with rotation und 13.10 -
the same is true for evince in Xubuntu 13.04 (when started as workaround for
a known problem with `LANG=en_US evince').

Output:
evince mydocument.ps
(evince:3776): EvinceDocument-CRITICAL **: ev_document_get_n_pages: assertion
'EV_IS_DOCUMENT (document)' failed

(evince:3776): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_get_from_surface: assertion 'width
0 height 0' failed
(evince:3776): Gtk-WARNING **: drawing failure for widget `EvView': invalid
matrix (not invertible)

(evince:3776): Gtk-WARNING **: drawing failure for widget `EvView':
invalid matrix (not invertible)

Many thanks for your help - a fix or at least workaround for 13.10 would
be much appreciated.

Regards,

JMB

[Bug 885592] Re: No parent folder button in Nautilus

2013-11-29 Thread Johan Boulé
I just find it amazing there's are buttons for Go to previous visited
location and Go to next visited location, but no way to go one level
up in the tree ... come on, it's a tree browser, not some web browser!

[Bug 10905] Re: Keyboard shortcuts, window management - Can't use any global keyboard shortcuts or hotkeys when applet/menu is open

2013-11-29 Thread Malcolm Ke
I've read the code in unity/services/panel-service.c
about PanelService: close a menu and re-send the keyevent when handling a
combination Or when we try to open HUD/Dash. Also, close the active
menu if a new application is opened and focused. (LP: #10905,
#1234457, #1197071),

but it still does not resolve the problem about PrintScreen key to
snapshot context menu.

The root reason is at the XGrabKeyboard in popup_grab_on_window() of
gtk/gtkmenu.c.

Guys, don't bother yourself any more, as you know linux means freedom, we could
get rid of XGrabKeyboard by ourselves:

[Bug 1256468] [NEW] Evince loses ligature when highlighting

2013-11-29 Thread Tom Ace
Public bug reported:

Evince renders a PDF document containing ff ligatures (taken from a different
font than the surrounding text comes from) correctly upon first opening the
file, but fails to render an ff ligature when the word containing it is
highlighted with the cursor. I am attaching a testcase document
(evinceligbug.pdf , 24728 bytes) that illustrates the problem. Please contact
me at tom...@gmail.com if for some reason the document didn't survive the
attachment process.
