2014-03-11 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thanks, is that specific to gedit? I don't see any difference between
those screenshots but maybe somebody with better eyes can do...

One thing you could try is to install gedit 3.8 on trusty and see if
that resolves the issue, it's somewhat unlikely the issue is coming from
gedit itself there

[Bug 1281617] Re: Missing padding above menu's first item and below last item

2014-03-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package ubuntu-themes -
14.04+14.04.20140311-0ubuntu1

---
ubuntu-themes (14.04+14.04.20140311-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium

  [ Didier Roche ]
  * Install the new suru icon theme in its own binary package
  * Bump standards-version

  [ Lars Uebernickel ]
  * Don't set toolbar's background to transparent Evolution uses the
toolbar's background color for the frame in its mail view. A
transparent background will make that appear black.
  * Give the .view class a background Fixes black background in the dnd
widgets when dragging a GtkTreeView row.
  * Set gtk-alternative-sort-arrows to true The triangles used by the
themes convey sort order better when flipped (pointing up is
ascending). (LP: #901703)
  * Add margin to popup menus to prevent accidental clicks Gtk displaces
the menus based on the margin. A margin of 1px ensures that the
mouse pointer is not over the first (or last) menu item after right-
clicking. (LP: #1281617)
  * Move .view class background further up So that the .rubberband rules
come after it.
  * Fix black backgrounds in glade and baobab The black backgrounds only
appear when using overlay-scrollbars. These are hacks to work around
limitations in gtk 3.10.
  * Fix linked button appearance The left-most buttons in primary
toolbars didn't have a left border and the middle buttons had
borders when the window was unfocussed. (LP: #1290501)

  [ Matthieu James ]
  * This is the new icon theme for Ubuntu Touch. It inherits Ubuntu-
Mobile to ensure that all the icons remain displayed despite some
names have changed.

[Bug 1290904] [NEW] System behaviour does not follow user settings in some cases

2014-03-11 Thread LGB [Gábor Lénárt]
Public bug reported:

First of all, sorry, I am not sure what kind of package should I specify
with this report.

Upgraded to trusty, and some of the user settings are not used (or only
temporary) anymore:

* I use F12 to open a terminal since ages (I depends most on terminals in my
work). Setting that works, but after next login, it's forgotten and must be set
again.
* Whatever I set up for action in case of closing lid of the notebook it always
goes into sleep mode, however I _don't_ want that.

I'm not sure if there is common problem of these bugs however, just I
think it can be common settings problem ...

It's daily updated 32bit system on a Lenovo L520 notebook.

gnome-panel (1:3.8.0-1ubuntu9) trusty; urgency=low

  * Revert changes to 41_classic_layout.patch introduced in -1ubuntu4,
this causes two keyboard indicators to be visible.
  * Identify as Unity, again (LP: #1224217).
  * Use unity-settings-daemon instead of gnome-settings-daemon.
  * Add gnome-flashback-services.desktop to autostart indicators.
  * Bump Standards-Version to 3.9.5, no changes needed.

[Bug 1290539] Re: Nautilus turn off show hiden files does not work

2014-03-11 Thread John Doe
Yes it's specific for the first user which was created during the installation.
Tried it with a new account and it does not show up.
I tried to turn it off twice. First the usual way with ctrl+h and then with the
menue (down arrow) show hidden files and unchecked it. When I close and
restart nautilus hidden files are visibile again. Of course the entry in the
menue is also checked again.

[Bug 1290697] Re: Font rendering is broken

2014-03-11 Thread Aibara Iduas
Tthe colors of the pixels to the side of the characters in the
screenshot on the right are off, causing them to be blurrier and more
'shimmering'.

I only found this in gedit, nothing else. I was using a live image, and
just tried it again with today's... but now the rendering seems just
fine. I'll test it some more in the coming days to see if the problem
comes back.

This bug demonstrates (if any more proof was needed) that Nautilus needs to be
replaced with something else by default in Ubuntu (and in any distro trying to
be of any use), quite urgently.

[Bug 1291018] [NEW] Chromium/Firefox do not open iTunes (itmss:) URLs although Rhythmbox is installed

2014-03-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have Rhythmbox and its Mozilla plugin installed, with (if I read
correctly) enables the use of iTunes podcast links.

However, when I click on such a link (example:
https://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/swr3-gag-des-tages-
swr3.de/id268491259?mt=2), I do get a warning about starting Quicktime
7.6.6 Plugin and (if I accept) another warning about an external
protocol being opened with xdg-open, but after that, nothing happens.
In .xsession-errors I get

(totem-plugin-viewer:11017): Gdk-WARNING **: The GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS environment
variable is not supported in GTK3.
See the documentation for gdk_window_ensure_native() on how to get native
windows.
TotemEmbedded-Message: Viewer state: STOPPED

If I disable the Quicktime 7.6.6 Plugin, again nothing happens in the
GUI, and in .xsession-errors I get

gvfs-open:
itmss://itunes.apple.com/de/podcast/gerhard-schroder-uber-putin/id268491259?i=276468227mt=2ign-msr=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.de%2F:
Error opening location: location not supported
(Error wording might be a little different, I backported it from German)

I would expect Rhythmbox to open and import the podcast in question.
When I open Rhythmbox manually and click on Podcasts then on Import,
and paste the above URL, the podcast is imported and I can play it fine.

Make text cursor to blink as expected (needs

password char  - Support multi-monitor correctly, switching view on
mouse movement (as the greeter does)  - Fixed lockscreen not showing
on newly attached monitors  - Never paint windows that might popup
under the lockscreen (such as tooltips or notifications)  - Use
unity greeter gsettings values for painting the Background (support
color, or disable user bg)  - Don't lock guest sessions

- LockScreenSettings now bind settings from unity-greeter dconf path

The problem is with formatting shortcuts like Ctrl-B/Command+B and

[Bug 1226962]

2014-03-11 Thread Paulo Fino
Hello everyone!

After months of switching layouts and banging my head against this bug,
I thought I should check LibreOffice settings (I'm using 4.1.5.3 now).
What figures? I did find something. And in just a few clicks.

This is not a bug! It's simply a matter of configuration.

For the regular keyboard shortcuts (like Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, etc.) to remain
operational in LibreOffice applications while using a non-latin keyboard
layout (like Greek or Russian), go to Tools - Options - Language
Settings - Languages, check the Ignore system input language option,
save, and Bob's your uncle.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

PS
Technically, though, shortcuts still remain language-dependent. This means if
you enable this option, you will have to set your document languages manually.
