[Bug 1241972] Re: Drag and drop from Dash to Desktop doesn't work
14.04 LTS- Where is the code for the drag and drop? If you drag and drop an URL from a browser to quickly make a shortcut it automatically makes a text file. However, you can make the URL an app shortcut on the desktop from the file menu. Seems like the behavior can be altered depending on where you are dragging text from; same as dragging an app from a folder to the desktop. Seems also that if you drag an application from the desktop to the launcher it would turn into an launcher item. [Bug 1202159] Re: nautilus assert failure: ERROR:nautilus-bookmark.c:350:nautilus_bookmark_connect_file: assertion failed: (!nautilus_file_is_gone (bookmark->details->file))
Thanks Iain! I can reproduce this now. The problem seems to be because the bookmark is being kept in the history once it is closed. So when you "eject" the FTP bookmark nautilus deletes the bookmark visually but keeps a reference to it for the history. The bookmark keeps a reference to the NautilusFile for the FTP location and this is marked as "gone". When try and connect to this location again (or press back in the history) it tries and create a new bookmark which then uses the cached NautilusFile which is marked gone. Thus the assertion fails. The solution I am currently trying to find is to remove the bookmark from the history when it is ejected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202159 Title: nautilus assert failure: ERROR:nautilus- bookmark.c:350:nautilus_bookmark_connect_file: assertion failed: (!nautilus_file_is_gone (bookmark->details->file)) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nautilus/+bug/1202159/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1311743] [NEW] Delay before compilation of any latex document in TeXmaker
Public bug reported: When you hit F1 or click on the compilation button in TeXmaker, whatever the kind of compilation is chosen (latex or pdflatex), it takes 1 to 4 seconds before the compilation actually happens. Sometimes, it causes the TeXmaker window to fade out and then fade in again. This happens on TeXmaker 4.1 in Ubuntu 14.04 and does not happen in TeXmaker 3.2 in Ubuntu 12.04. [Bug 1311734] [NEW] Gedit switches to grayscale font antialiasing when the text exceeds window size
Public bug reported: Gedit switches to gray-scale font anti-aliasing when the text displayed does not fit within the window. To reproduce the bug: (1) Select the following font settings: Default font: Liberation Sans, 10 Document font: Liberation Sans, 10 Monospace font: Liberation Mono, 9 Window title font: Liberation Sans Bold, 10 Antialiasing: RGBA Hinting:Medium Text scaling factor:1.00 (2) Open gedit. (Optionally, make the window a little smaller so you don't have to type so much in the next step). (3) Type some text and notice that the font selections you made are being used. (Take a screen-shot for reference). (4) Continue typing more text, until the text no longer fits in the gedit window's text area. The vertical overlay scroll bar will appear at the right window edge (if you have text wrap enabled). (5) Now that the text you typed does not fit within the gedit window, notice that the text is no longer as smooth as before. (Take a screen- shot for reference). (6) Open and zoom into the screen shot from step 3, and then open and zoom into the screen shot from step 5. Notice that the colored font hinting (or anti-aliased font edges) that appearED in the screen-shot from step 3 are no longer present in the screen-shot from step 5. The fonts in the screen-shot from step 5 have gray antialiasing / hinting. I have attached a screen-shots depicting this situation. The left side of the screen shot shows gedit with good font antialiasing / hinting (from step 3). The left side of the screen shot shows gedit with bad font antialiasing / hinting (from step 5). I have also zoomed into the letter "A" in each respective scenario, and pasted that into the image to show how the font hinting / anti-aliasing changes when text does not fit into the gedit window. [Bug 1287341] Re: Touchscreen controls both screens in dual-monitor setup
Seb wrote in an email: "In fact discussing a bit on IRC and looking at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=698284 it might not be as easy Xorg/the hardware doesn't give us a way to determine that an input system is linked to a screen. It's easy enough when you have 1 of each to match them, it's less trivial if you have e.g 2 screens and an input device. We can probably come up with some heuristics for common cases (like assuming that if you have a laptop screen and an external monitor and a touch input, that's probably the laptop screen one) but not sure how well that's going to work..." ** Changed in: oem-priority Importance: Undecided => High -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1287341 Title: Touchscreen controls both screens in dual-monitor setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1287341/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1283003] Re: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates
@Omri Stein, @Akaname, @Kiori, @Joe D. First some good news... There seems to be a simple workaround to restore the highquality A2DP interworking to your Bluetooth headset. 1) Use Blueman to pair to the headset. My experience was that it will pair and even connect as headset with the horrible audio quality "Telephony Duplex (HSP/HFP)" audio profile. 2) The Ubuntu Sound Control panel wont however show the Bluetooth device yet! 3) Open a command terminal and issue the command:pulseaudio -k 4) After a short delay you should see the Headset appear in the listed audio devices of the Ubuntu Sound Control Panel 5) Select the device and connect some audio source (VLC Media or your favourite player)... The quality will still be poor... 6) Now use Blueman GUI, select the device and press mouse right click and then select the "Refresh Services". It should show a succes message in the lower status bar. 7) Right click on the headset device in Blueman GUI and select Audio Sink. If it displays a success message your in luck. 8) Now right click the headset device in Blueman GUI and select Audio Profile menu and then select "High Fidelity Playback (A2DP)". It should suceed and switch into the correct mode. ==> You will always have to issue the "pulseaudio -k" command from terminal before using the headset, but it's a tolerable work around. Hope this works for you too. -Colum -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1283003 Title: [Bluetooth + 14.04] Bluetooth headsets are not working after last couple of updates To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/1283003/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1278863] Re: package gnome-settings-daemon-schemas (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: tentative de remplacement de « /usr/share/GConf/gsettings/gnome-settings-daemon.convert », qui appart
For those who don't have aptitude or ppa-purge, the problem can be solved (in a dirty way) by downloading the .deb package and installing it through the command: dpkg --force-overwrite -i . Removing gnome PPA had no effects for me, because they were already automatically disabled through the do-release-upgrade command. The suggested command will enable you to use apt-get again, but can be harmful to your system. So use it at your own risk. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1278863 Title: package gnome-settings-daemon-schemas (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: tentative de remplacement de « /usr/share/GConf/gsettings/gnome-settings-daemon.convert », qui appartient aussi au paquet gnome-settings-daemon 3.10.2-0ubuntu1~saucy6 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-settings-daemon/+bug/1278863/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
