[Bug 1322026] Re: font-scaling factor is not aplied early enough

2014-08-17 Thread rubo77
I looked at all log files to find evidence, what happens the moment the
right scalinf finally happens with:

$ alias tail-all-logs='find /var/log -iregex '\''.*[^\.][^0-9]+$'\''
-not -iregex '\''.*gz$'\'' 2> /dev/null | xargs tail -n0 -f | ccze -A'

$ tail-all-logs

this is the last output before it happens:

these are the latest log entries before the font restores

[Bug 983291] Re: Screen Rotation options only Counterclockwise & Clockwise

2014-08-17 Thread Eric Feliksik
Reproducible on 14.04.1. Indeed it has to do with the max total display
size in 3d mode: "Requested size (2304, 800) exceeds 3D hardware limit
(2048, 2048). You must either rearrange the displays so that they fit
within a (2048, 2048) square."

Solution:

- Drag the extra monitor *under* the laptop monitor
- select laptop monitor and then external monitor again (this reinitializes the
dropdown box for screen orientation)
- pick orientation 'normal'.

Context:
Had exactly one nautilus window in existence, but minimised to the launcher.
This existing nautilus window was pointed to the directory of an external
device (i.e. /media/james/HDD1)

Expected behaviour:
Clicking the nautilus icon in the unity launcher should unminimise this
existing nautilus window.

Actual behaviour:
Clicking on the nautilus icon in the unity launcher caused a new nautilus
window to open. The existing nautilus window is still able to be unminimised by
either Alt-Tabbing to it or by clicking the external device icon in the unity
launcher.
