[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

[Bug 1391416] [NEW] file transfer source and target are impossible to retrieve from information in file transfer dialog (name isn't sufficient)
Public bug reported: When the user copies directory a into directory b the file transfer dialog only displays information that is moves or copies a into b rather than /path/to/a into /path/to/b. This causes the following deficies: * If the user copies /path/to/a into b and /another/path/to/a into b the file transfer dialog become unnecessarily complicated * If the user copies 20 large files over night while sitting in a bar and having dring and checks the dialog again in the morning he_she has no idea which files are about to be copied. Displaying the full path should be the default because there's no usecase for information loss. In case it's desired to keep the transfer dialog small, it'd be good to have a collapsible pane for extended information or a collapsible pane for each file name. Of course the dialog label has be tested for well working line breaks (it should support arbitrary long pathnames in order to cover any filesystem that will ever be invented) so that there's no case where label in the form of * `copying /the/very/long/path/t...` or * `copying /the/very/long/path/to/the/file into /the/other/very/long/p...` or * something similar occur. How to trigger the bug: 1. Open gedit. 2. Click inside the editing area. 3. Press CTRL. 4. Move the cursor inside the editing area. In this case, the cursor is gone, or sometimes blinks for a fraction of a second. If you move the cursor outside of the editing area, it will be okay again. Moving it back will make it buggy again. On further investigation, it does not occur for a small subset of PDFs I tested (I found one that allows evince to correctly close). [Bug 1391555] [NEW] Bluetooth mouse battery reported as Extra battery
Public bug reported: In several places, the battery status for my Logitech M557 Bluetooth mouse is being incorrectly reported as a generic battery or laptop battery. This shows up in two places related to gnome-power-manager. In the System Settings/Power screen, under the heading Batteries there are two bars, one for Main and one for Extra. The Main corresponds to the laptop battery and the Extra corresponds to the mouse battery. I expected to see a separate entry for the mouse, or at least a more descriptive label than Extra. In the gnome-power-statistics interface, the mouse battery appears as Laptop battery with a model Bluetooth Mouse M557. It should appear as a Mouse battery: or Bluetooth Mouse battery or something similar. I am not certain that this is the appropriate package for the bug report because I do not know which is responsible for the initial error or whether it is an independent error in several packages. If I am in the wrong place, I would appreciate help routing this to the correct place. This (or a similar) bug also shows up in indicator-power. Let me know if I should post a bug separately for that package---I am holding off because it seems possible that is a knock-on effect of the problem here and I don't want to spam the bug reports. Re: [Bug 1391337] [NEW] Alt keys for menu access do not work
On Nov 11, 2014, at 03:43 PM, Iain Lane wrote: Don't think so - this version has a migration from GConf to GSettings for settings storage so the value may have been lost for you there. If so, that'd be a bug. I'll make a note to try this out. That could be it. I'd need to set up a utopic vm to check this (since I'm now on vivid everywhere ;). Still one small nit: the menu items are still not underlined even though their alt shortcut works again. E.g. Terminal-Reset and Clear is bound to 'l' (el) but the 'l' in Clear is not underlined. However Alt-t + l does work again. I think this is a general issue/feature in Unity. For me, the underlines appear if I press Alt-F, release, then press the down arrow or mouse over the dropdown. I see the same in other applications too though, for example Firefox. Indeed, the underlines show up if I hit down arrow. That's probably not good enough though, since the shortcuts are active even before down arrow, thus they should be underlined when the menu pops up. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391337 Title: Alt keys for menu access do not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1391337/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1391567] [NEW] evince prints transparent parts of images in PDFs as black
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04.1 evince version 3.10.3-0ubuntu10.1 If a PDF contains an image with a transparent background, evince prints the transparent parts of that image as black. I attach a test case, generated by doodling in the gimp, exporting as PNG, and then convert test.png test.pdf Printing test.pdf from evince will show a black background to the image. Printing test.pdf from okular or xpdf produces a page with a white (paper) background. ** Affects: evince (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: pdf with transparent image https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391567/+attachment/4258403/+files/lala.pdf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1391567 Title: evince prints transparent parts of images in PDFs as black To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1391567/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1364936] Re: history feature allows a single back move only
Open this document and do the following: 1. Go to page 2 (by clicking on the thumbnail). 3. Got to page 4 (by clicking on the thumbnail). 4. Press the back button. Expected: i should be on page 2 and the back button is still clickable so that I can go to page 1. the forward button should be clickable so that I can return to page 4. Actual: i am on page 2 and the back and forward buttons are gray. This occurs whether in continuous mode or not. ** Attachment added: random.pdf https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1364936/+attachment/4258653/+files/random.pdf -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1364936 Title: history feature allows a single back move only To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/1364936/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
