[Bug 1401488] Re: [regression] Mir servers (since 0.9) randomly crash in malloc due to heap corruption
The regression came from this, so the bug just slipped into the 0.9.0 release too: revno: 2072 [merge] tags: br0.9, v0.9.0 author: Alexandros Frantzis committer: Tarmac branch nick: development-branch timestamp: Wed 2014-11-19 02:07:20 + message: server: Use the GLibMainLoop implementation by default This MP also adds an option of using the AsioMainLoop implementation (--use-asio-main-loop or MIR_SERVER_USE_ASIO_MAIN_LOOP) for easier comparative testing. [Bug 897188] Re: Evolution doesn't get new messages from an IMAP server after suspend/resume
Getting this same behavior on 14.04 LTS. I'm sad to see that this has been reported for so long and doesn't have any activity. Is there any further information I can provide to help with troubleshooting? Of note: after a suspend, not only will my accounts fail to update automatically, but if I click Send/Receive, that dialog will hang forever with the Receive bar marked as "Updating...". [Bug 1406338] [NEW] nautilus misses "open with" for some types of files
Public bug reported: Hi guys. I am an ex "KDE fedora" user (for 5 years) and am trying "Unity Ubuntu" now. I think nautilus is interpreting so much the type of file and taking not the best decision. For example, when the "file" is a folder or a *.destop file, nautilus removes the "Open With" option. In my opinion, nautilus is a very nice pieace of code. IF the missing "Open With" is related to only these file type (direcotry and .desktop), it is ok to me. But i don't know if others file types are on the list. Please, guys. Turn the "Open With" switch to ALLWAYS ON. If not, please, can you list all the file types that you don't allow "Open With" ? (1) Ubuntu 14.04 LTS ( actually, Ubuntu 14.04.1, the amd64 version) (2) nautilus 3.10.1 (3) I expected "Open With" menu entry ALWAYS (4) What happened was that it was missing for some file types (I don't know all, but .desktop files is an example) PS : Sorry by my poor english ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: nautilus ** Tags added: nautilus -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1406338 Title: nautilus misses "open with" for some types of files To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/1406338/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Echoing the last entry, this is (also) an Ubuntu bug. [Bug 1374917] Re: After using sudo some files now owned by root
This is not a bug in MATE itself. If the XDG_* variables are not set then it is not the receiving applications fault. I have tested on Arch Linux with "proper" systemd 218-1 and the issue of file ownership in the the users `.config` home directory being changed to `root` is not present. [Bug 1270579] Re: Ubuntu should have an upstart job for saving/restoring backlight level on laptops
Commenting on #18: Checking the brightness script (POSIX-incompatible bashisms etc.), my system says: # checkbashisms brightness possible bashism in brightness line 30 (unsafe echo with backslash): echo "\tloading $saved_controller_name" possible bashism in brightness line 40 (unsafe echo with backslash): echo "\tsaving $controller_name" possible bashism in brightness line 50 (unsafe echo with backslash): echo "\tCurrent brightness level for $controller_name is $(cat $controller/brightness)" possible bashism in brightness line 58 (unsafe echo with backslash): echo "\tSaved brightness level for $saved_controller_name is $(cat $saved_file)" (should probably prefer using the printf helper for that, since a \t control code might possibly require echo -e, yet availability of sufficiently compatible echo -e possibly isn't guaranteed) Also some variable uses are not "-quoted, which will cause issues in case of space-containing filesystem items (which is somewhat unlikely to be encountered in the case of firmly Linux-managed /proc or /sys entries, but still...). And some path strings are openly duplicated rather than assigned to helper variables. All in all these are fairly minor issues, and I didn't runtime test the script anyway. [Bug 1406239] [NEW] Evince PDF print generates blank pages on the printer.
Public bug reported: I made a PDF (with two pages of content) and then wanted evince to print a copy of it. Out came two blank pages with a few dots here and there. I ran a test print for the printer, and it worked fine. I asked OKULAR to print the file, and it prints. Apparently the problem is with the latest version of evince.
