[Bug 348522] Re: gvfsd-gphoto2 copies files to RAM (unsuitable for really large files)

[Bug 969359] Re: [keyboard]: gnome-settings-daemon consumes 100% cpu (and blinking numlock)
** Please change the status of this bug to Confirmed I can confirm that this is still happening in Utopic. My story is same as Ritberg's. After I connect via VNC to my vinagre daemon the io usage slowly (during approx 20 hours) climbs to 100% and the system proceeds to hang while excessively writing to disk. strace shows that dconf-service is writing /org/gnome/desktop/peripherals/keyboard/numlock-sate on and off all the time. This might help to diagnose the bug: Setting /org/gnome/desktop/peripherals/keyboard/remember-numlock-state to off immediately fixed this issue for me without any additional side effects. [Bug 525161] Re: sometimes it's never print out any page and hangs on
Sending the PostScript file directly to a native PostScript printer, for example using the command nc -w1 9100 < Grammar\ 4.ps leads to a printout in a reasonable time (2-3 pages quickly one after each other, then 5 seconds pause, 2-3 pages again and so forth). This means that the PostScript IS awkward, but GhostScript is really TOO slow, meaning that there is room for improvement/fixing in Ghostscript. Independent of this, the djvu software used by evince needs improvement, too, once it should generate better, easier to process PostScript, and second it should be able to directly convert djvu into PDF, as PDF is THE standard format for printable documents under all operating systems (please consider reporting an upstream bug here, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525161 Title: sometimes it's never print out any page and hangs on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/525161/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 998491] Re: window icon does not work with all dialogs
This isn't really a bug, as far as I understand it. The documentation might be a bit confusing, but it says that the parameter --window-icon sets the "window icon". Which is exactly what it does. However, this icon isn't usually shown (though you can confirm it has been set using `xprop`), which gives the impression that perhaps this parameter should allow to change image in the info/warning/message/question dialogs. In fact, the TODO file lists this as one of the future tasks: * Would be nice to have an option to use your own icon in the info/warning/message/question dialogs - Suggested by Kevin Krinke However, if this is to be considered a bug, and that --window-icon should not only set the gtk window icon, but also the displayed image, then the attached patch fixes it (for zenity-3.14.0). ** Patch added: "Patch so that window-icon also sets icon in info/warning/message/question dialogs." https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zenity/+bug/998491/+attachment/4293554/+files/image-fix.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to zenity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998491 Title: window icon does not work with all dialogs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/zenity/+bug/998491/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1361906] Re: gvfsd-ftp crashed with SIGABRT in g_mutex_unlock_slowpath()
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers of the software by following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME. If you have done so, please tell us the number of the upstream bug (or the link), so we can add a bugwatch that will inform us about its status. Thanks in advance. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #735381 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=735381 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1361906 Title: gvfsd-ftp crashed with SIGABRT in g_mutex_unlock_slowpath() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1361906/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 525161] Re: sometimes it's never print out any page and hangs on
"Print to file" in evince 3.10.3-0ubuntu10.1 on Trusty only has an option to print to a PS file, so I did this, then ran ps2pdf. Running the "top" command shows that gs from the ubuntu USER is at the top of the list with 100% use of one of my four CPU cores (single CPU state/separate CPU states can be toggled by pressing "1" while top is running). SHaRed memory was fixed at 3776 KiB, while VIRTual memory size and RESident memory size steadily increased to over 10 KiB each after 10 minutes and continued to steadily increase to over 20 KiB before the conversion completed after 1 hour and 17 minutes. Unless I am mistaken, gs is ghostscript. The ghostscript version on Ubuntu 14.04 "Trusty Tahr" is 9.10~dfsg-0ubuntu10.2. However not that Christopher's conversion on Vivid also took ~2 hours. The ghostscript version on Ubuntu 15.04 "Vivid Vervet" development version is 9.14~dfsg- 0ubuntu4 ** Changed in: evince (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evince in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/525161 Title: sometimes it's never print out any page and hangs on To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evince/+bug/525161/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1322925] Re: Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus
Thanks to Alexander's comment on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/988251/comments/29, I was able to work out steps to reproduce the bug. 1. Open a Nautilus window. 2. Go to location with write permission 3. Select a file and try to rename. 4. When prompted to rename (filename becomes a text entry), open new tab. 5. Select a file, try to copy and paste. You will see that file is not copied and pasted. 6. Go back to original tab. If the file that was selected in step 3 is still selected, unselect it. 7. Try to copy and paste. It should work. 8. Try to rename again, and open new tab. 9. Close old tab, and try to copy and paste. It won't work, and there is no way to restore, except opening a new window.
