[Bug 410288] Re: Nautilus does not handle FTP timeouts well

2015-03-02 Thread Ross Lagerwall
If you want to help, please run the following in a terminal:
pkill gvfs; GVFS_DEBUG=all `find /usr/lib* -name 'gvfsd'` ~/log.txt
and then upload log.txt in your home directory so we can see a log of what is
happening.

sftp is a completely different protocol so it's expected to be
different.

[Bug 1340067] Re: Drop 20_add_alt_screen_toggle_ui.patch - it does nothing with vte3 = 0.34.9

2015-03-02 Thread Egmont Koblinger
I'm not against fixing it at all, but ... if you take a look around
either here among launchpad bugs (both gnome-terminal and vte/vte3) or
mainstream bugzilla and git, you'll find quite a few way more important
issues, including crash scenarios with known fixes - yet there's no
activity and willingness from anyone backporting them to Trusty or
Utopic. It's really strange to see discussing the possibility of
releasing a fix for one of the least important bugs while ignoring the
others. I mean, there's a checkbox that doesn't do anything, and you're
worried about this but not the segfaults? C'mon... As long as there
are unfixed crashes, putting any amount of work in backporting the
removal of a nonfunctional checkbox is IMO precious engineering time not
well spent, and yet another update is probably more annoying to the
users than useful.

This is a very old bug. I am sorry it never received any attention, but this is
probably because it was never assigned to the right package.

version of Ubuntu you are running now.

[Bug 1427280] [NEW] JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS value breaks otherwise working compilation-execution

2015-03-02 Thread gebe
Public bug reported:

The value for JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS set by upstart breaks the window menu
and window focus of a GraphicsProgram built with the ACM Java Libraries.

When JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS is unset, everything works perfectly as expected.

If I don't unset the variable, my window is unable to keep window-
manager focus and loses the window menu (nor window menu, neither global
menu). This results in the program being unable to capture any mouse or
keyboard events.

The terminal output that I get is the following:

Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS: -javaagent:/usr/share/java/jayatanaag.jar

[Bug 410288] Re: Nautilus does not handle FTP timeouts well

2015-03-02 Thread Andrew Silvers
I've updated gvfs on Ubuntu Gnome 14.10 to 1.20.3 via trusty-proposed
(with libplist1 from trusty as dependency for gvfs-backends) and the
issue is still there. Even worse, now an ftp folder with pictures can't
load if it is told to generate thumbnails (on 1.20.1 from utopic it
generated nearly 50 of them without problems).

If I remove thumbnails, it loads any branch of folders, loads any number
of pictures, but unmounts as soon as I return to previous directory or
to ftp root.

[Bug 1427307] [NEW] CTRL-W - CTRL-Q semantics mixup

2015-03-02 Thread Axel G. Rossberg
Public bug reported:

I'd expect CTRL-W to close the Rhythmbox window (just as clicking the

[Bug 1427312] [NEW] Add autopkgtests for systemd-fsckd

2015-03-02 Thread Didier Roche
Public bug reported:

Here are some autopkgtests (handling reboots within the tests) for
systemd-fsckd.

They are mostly testing the robustness of the various daemons:
- starting with or without plymouth
- surviving kill of fsck, systemd-fsckd, systemd-fsck, plymouth

It will be possible to extend it later on with Control+C tests on
plymouth and eventually checking the protocol output.

[Bug 1427352] [NEW] TreeView never display horizontal scrollbar so columns gets squashed together

2015-03-02 Thread Thiago Bellini
Public bug reported:

This is a regression from 3.8 present until 3.12 (it is fixed on 3.14+).

The treeview's horizontal scrollbar is broken in a way that it will
never get displayed when needed, but instead, the columns will be
squashed all together.

You can see this bug [1] for reference of the upstream issue. Also,
there are those 2 images (taken from the bug) showing how this used to
work on 3.6 [2] and how it is working on 3.10 [3].

I already ported the fix to the package and am doing some tests atm. As
soon as I finish everything, I'll open a merge proposal linking to this.

[Bug 891427] [NEW] File manager in 11.10 behavior has changed, now more cumbersome

2015-03-02 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Open the current file manager in 11.10. Hit F3 to split the screen.
Make sure breadcrumbs are visible along the top of the window. In the
split pane that *doesn't* have focus, try to change the directory up one
level by clicking on the bread crumbs. It won't work.. you have to have
focus in that pane to actually change the directory there. Previous
Ubuntu releases did not behave that way.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: Incomplete
