[Bug 518056] Re: cedilla appears as accented c (ć instead of ç) when typing 'c
Hello Gunnar, I see! No, unfortunately we also need the accute dead keys for á, é, í, ó and ú. The "key" (phisically speaking) must be the same. That is, 'a = á, and 'c = ç (We also have other accents, such as à, ã, ê, etc., but all other accents work perfectly in the US-Intl with dead keys layout. The only exception is the cedilla. Basically I 'stole' the dead key, which in the "English (US, international with dead keys)" layout is used for typing á, é, ć, etc., and converted it to a dead key for typing ȩ, ç, etc. The key is marked with a red frame in the attached graphical layout. As a consequence, typing e.g. á and é is made more difficult. It can be done with +a respective +e, but there is no longer a dead key for typing á or é. So I'd like to ask: Is this the best way to fix 'the cedilla issue'? Is this in accordance with people's expectations? ** Attachment added: "us-intl-cedilla-layout.png" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+2.0/+bug/518056/+attachment/4361306/+files/us-intl-cedilla-layout.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gtk+2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/518056 Title: cedilla appears as accented c (ć instead of ç) when typing 'c To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xkeyboard-config/+bug/518056/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1438249] Re: /sbin/dhclient is unconfined after switch to systemd (aka, equivalent of upstart's network-interface-security.conf not implemented)
So at the moment, apparmor starts After=local-fs.target and Before=sysinit.target. network-interface-security.conf does: start on (starting network-interface or starting network-manager or starting networking) network-interface corresponds to ifup@.service, networking is just the ifupdown init.d script; these two need an After=apparmor.service. NetworkManager.service has DefaultDependencies=yes (the default), thus the ordering there is fine already. It seems to me that adding these two ordering constraints is simpler and potentially also more efficient than running /sbin/apparmor_parser manually? ** Also affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1438249 Title: /sbin/dhclient is unconfined after switch to systemd (aka, equivalent of upstart's network-interface-security.conf not implemented) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ifupdown/+bug/1438249/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1435287] Re: cups-browsed crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slist_foreach()
Seb, for me it looks like a problem of glib2 because of the following: 1. In the traceback it does not go throgh the code which I have recently changed. 2. The crash happens only in Ubuntu Vivid, not in Utopic and not in Fedora. Vivid has another (newer) version of glib2 than Fedora. 3. It is less probably Avahi as Fedora and Vivid have the same upstream version of Avahi. For me it is difficult to investigate the crash by myself as it never happened for me. The tracebacks are missing the symbols of Avahi if the code execution path goes through Avahi. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to glib2.0 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1435287 Title: cups-browsed crashed with SIGSEGV in g_slist_foreach() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-filters/+bug/1435287/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1432158] [NEW] network-manager 0.9.10.0-4ubuntu10 makes my system take about twice as long to boot to the login screen
You have been subscribed to a public bug: The enablement of NetworkManager-wait-online.service in network-manager 0.9.10.0-4ubuntu10 has made my Kubuntu Vivid x64 system take nearly twice as long to boot to the login screen. I did some investigating and determined that this is because sddm.service depends on systemd-user- sessions.service which depends on remote-fs.target which depends on network-online.target which depends on NetworkManager-wait- online.service. For that reason, systemd is apparently waiting to start sddm until both the wired and wireless adapters are connected, which makes the system take much longer to boot. ** Affects: systemd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: systemd-boot -- network-manager 0.9.10.0-4ubuntu10 makes my system take about twice as long to boot to the login screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1432158 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

"xkb-data is architecture independent,..." Great! This makes things easier for everybody. I'll try again late, after work, and share here. (I've tried with apt-get and, of course, it didn't found the repo. ) "If there proves to be a consensus on this approach to deal with the issue - possibly after some modifications - we should better leave the PPAs and propose that it's included in the archives, both in Ubuntu and upstream." In my very humble opinion, this seems to be the most KISS solution for the issue. "In other words, I hope that a few users install xdb-data from my PPA, test, and give feedback here." I'll help spreading the word and asking some fellows if they are using US intl dead keys keyboards. Hi, Leandro? What you think about this? Can you help with some testers? [Bug 518056] Re: cedilla appears as accented c (ć instead of ç) when typing 'c
xkb-data is architecture independent, so i386, amd64, etc. doesn't matter. As regards different Ubuntu versions, I have successfully installed and run the xkb-data package in my PPA on trusty, utopic, and vivid installs. So even if it was built in utopic, you can install and test it in trusty if you like. If there proves to be a consensus on this approach to deal with the issue - possibly after some modifications - we should better leave the PPAs and propose that it's included in the archives, both in Ubuntu and upstream. In other words, I hope that a few users install xdb-data from my PPA, test, and give feedback here. On 2015-03-30 09:06, J. S. [Bug 1438106] Re: bumblebee doesn't work with systemd on 15.04, but works with upstart
bumblebeed itself fails in the modprobe call, so reassigning back for now. This could also belong to kmod, but let's find out what's wrong first. What does that command say? grep -r off /etc/mod* My suspicion is that there is some "alias whatever off" in /etc/modprobe.d which bumblebee tries to load, and bumblebee calls "modprobe whatever" and gets this error: modprobe: ERROR: ../libkmod/libkmod-module.c:816 kmod_module_insert_module() could not find module by name='off' modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'off': Function not implemented This is how current kmod behaves, and is independent of systemd vs. upstart. That may or may not be a kmod bug, but I don't think it is -- "off" is not a magic name in any way, it's not documented in man modprobe.d. So it seems "off" is merely a convention, but modprobing indeed will fail. I'll wait for your confirmation, then we can set this to "Triaged", and I suggest the upstream bug should be reopened. Thanks! I don't see any "off" in the bumblebee source, and debian/bumblebee.conf (which gets installed into /etc/modprobe.d/bumblebee.conf) looks fine to me. ** Package changed: systemd (Ubuntu) => bumblebee (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: bumblebee (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete ** Summary changed: - bumblebee doesn't work with systemd on 15.04, but works with upstart + bumblebee fails on trying to modprobe "off" -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to systemd in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1438106 Title: bumblebee fails on trying to modprobe "off" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bumblebee/+bug/1438106/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
