[Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)
Oops, I should have posted the comment first before adding an attachment. Here is the rest of comment #89: I have attached the ~/.xsession-errors file. The other problems are: Many indicators do not work. eg nm-applet I cannot type 's' in gnome-terminal - it keeps on opening the Applications menu. Should I raise new bug(s) for these? This problem is sort of finished. Should a new bug be for gnome-session or xrdp? [Bug 1251281] Re: gnome-session-flashback/Unity fails to start without hardware acceleration in cloud/remote environments (Forwarded-X/XRDP/VNC/NX/X2GO/Chromoting)
Hi people, Thanks very much for all the help. I can run gnome-flashback in Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS (up to date) using xrdp/vnc now, but it is not workable yet. I'm using Remote Desktop from Windows 7 to connect to Ubuntu. The major problem is that logging out doesn't work. The window changes to a blank purple screen and never closes. [Bug 1449809] [NEW] Unity Panel permanently displays "File Edit View Bookmarks Help" when Adwaita or High Contrast themes are used.
Public bug reported: This Bug does not affect the Window Title or Menus from successfully appearing, but they overlay the "File Edit View Bookmarks Help" in a visible manner, making it difficult to use (especially for High Contrast). [Bug 849631] Re: Unable to initialize new Ipod, unsupported checksum type
This still happens in Ubuntu 14.04 LTS: My wife got a brand new Apple iPod nano touch as a birthday present. Rhythmbox says when trying to initialize the device: "Unsupported checksum type". [Bug 1448154] Re: middle click on title to lower window isn't working in Ubuntu 15.04
Just noticed that, with the workaround, when all windows are 'lowered', it isn't possible to cycle through them again. In the old behaviour, you could just keep middle clicking and the current window at the top would go to the back of the stack. This post, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2142633&p=12635891#post12635891 , shows the following available values: 'toggle-shade' 'toggle-maximize' 'toggle-maximize-horizontally' 'toggle-maximize-vertically' 'minimize' 'none' 'lower' 'menu' None of those give me a suggestion it would provide the functionality I require.
