[Bug 1448563] Re: terminal won't launch with a customized locale

2015-05-15 Thread Simon K
I also encountered this problem (gnome-terminal not launching) and in my
case the problem was an invalid $HOME/.pam_environment file from a
previous OS installation. Xterm worked fine. Removing the
.pam_environment file fixed the problem; putting it back triggered the
problem again.

Debian 8 does not have the same problem; although the .pam_environment
file is still invalid there, gnome-terminal launches fine.

[Bug 1455491] [NEW] Evolution copies email to Sent folder before it's actually sent

2015-05-15 Thread Vegard Svanberg
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I have intermittent problems sending email from Evolution. Maybe every
other day or so, Evolution gives the impression the email has been sent,
while it hasn't been.

When this happens, this is what I see on the server side (IP/host info
withheld):

May 13 08:23:28 mail postfix/smtpd[14289]: connect from unknown[IPv6:address]
May 13 08:23:28 mail postfix/smtpd[14289]: B218622E50:
client=unknown[IPv6:address]
May 13 08:23:28 mail postfix/smtpd[14289]: B218622E50:
client=unknown[IPv6:address]
May 13 08:23:28 mail postfix/cleanup[13287]: B218622E50:
message-id=1431498208.15596.31.camel@withheld
May 13 08:23:28 mail postfix/smtpd[14289]: lost connection after DATA (64324
bytes) from unknown[IPv6:address]
May 13 08:23:28 mail postfix/smtpd[14289]: disconnect from unknown[IPv6:address]

May 15 13:14:38 mail postfix/smtpd[3632]: connect from unknown[IPv6:address]
May 15 13:14:38 mail postfix/smtpd[3632]: 21E8522E44:

May 15 13:14:38 mail postfix/smtpd[3632]: 21E8522E44:

May 15 13:14:38 mail postfix/cleanup[2894]: 21E8522E44:

bytes) from unknown[IPv6:address]
May 15 13:14:38 mail postfix/smtpd[3632]: disconnect from unknown[IPv6:address]

Now, why the connection is lost might be an interesting thing to find
out in and by itself, but the real concern I have is the fact the
Evolution doesn't detect this error.

It seems to pretend everything is ok and copies the email to the Sent
folder without indicating something went wrong.

Would it be unreasonable of me to expect Evolution to wait for a 250
first?

[Bug 874305] Re: evolution incomplete migration from mbox to maildir

2015-05-15 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
@sam, are you still stuck with an incomplete import?

I'm not actually sure how restarting the migration would be done. There
may be details about it in evolution --help; and I know there was a
--disable-migration switch at some point. I think the best course of
action might be, if there was a backup, to import it explicitly from
evolution's Import option.

Re: [Bug 1094744] Re: MS Sculpt Touch Mouse needs to be re-paired periodically

2015-05-15 Thread Marcos Alano
Thanks Mark, help me so much. :)

The problem is in the Bluetooth device address: The prefix (which
indicates the manufacturer) is different for your mouse. So the
workaround is add this line in the file
/usr/share/gnome-bluetooth/pin-code-database.xml (close to the Wedge
mouse entrance):
device oui=28:18:78: type=mouse name=Microsoft Sculpt Comfort
Mouse pin=/
Restart the system and try again to check if the problem persists. If
work well I will submit a patch for gnome-bluetooth.

Thanks for report this bug. :)

(/), and 7 (/home). I installed Windows first. During install of
Lubuntu, I added sda2 to the list of partitions to mount during boot. I
chose /mnt/windows for the mount point.

Windows 8.1 defaults to this Fast Startup in which instead of doing a
real shutdown, it hibernates the partition, not cleanly unmounting it.
After booting Windows then rebooting and choosing Ubuntu, the system
does not bring up the GUI, instead dropping to a text screen, saying:

ACPI PCC probe failed.
starting version 219.
welcome to emergency mode

The only error in the logs is that the system can't mount /mnt/windows.
Those other messages about ACPI and version 219 are red herrings. I
don't know why systemd is configured to think that /mnt/windows is
critical to the system, and why it responds by refusing to run the GUI
(staying in runlevel 1 maybe?).

After changing Windows to disable its Fast Startup and then booting into
Lubuntu, the system works normally and LXDE comes up as expected.

Had used Here and Google Maps to check this, but this problem was fixed

So this bug can be closed as solved if no one else will respond to it.

[Bug 1455520] [NEW] systemd-shim executes 'poweroff' after resuming from suspend-to-memory(S3)

2015-05-15 Thread chenyu
Public bug reported:

Hi,all
I'm using latest kernel 4.1-rc3 on ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS X86_64,
and I found that, after resuming from suspend-to-memory,
the systemd-shim deamon will execute a 'poweroff', which
shuts the system down.

here's my step to reproduce the bug:

1.echo mem /sys/power/state //ok
2.wait for 30 seconds//ok
3.push power button //ok
4.system resumes automatically //ok
5.after a few seconds, system shutdown //oh no...

I replace /sbin/shutdown with a script that prints the current process
backtrace by pstree, then the system will not halt after resumming from
suspend-to-memory. Here's my script:

# cat /sbin/shutdown
#!/bin/sh
pstree -a /home/chenyu/shutdown_trace.log

and here's the backtrace when system is executing my 'shutdown', after
resumming, we can see that, systemd-shim invokes 'sh -c /sbin/poweroff':

Thanks Mark, help me so much. :)

The problem is in the Bluetooth device address: The prefix (which
indicates the manufacturer) is different for your mouse. So the
workaround is add this line in the file
 /usr/share/gnome-bluetooth/pin-code-database.xml (close to the Wedge
 mouse entrance):
 device oui=28:18:78: type=mouse name=Microsoft Sculpt Comfort
 Mouse pin=/
Restart the system and try again to check if the problem persists. If
work well I will submit a patch for gnome-bluetooth.

Thanks for report this bug. :)

[Bug 1455638] [NEW] full system lock-up when viewing a large image

2015-05-15 Thread Hadrien
Public bug reported:

Download this picture from wikipedia, it is about 266 MB:
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/31/Las_Meninas%2C_by_Diego_Vel%C3%A1zquez%2C_from_Prado_in_Google_Earth.jpg

In Nautilus, double-click on the resulting file.
The image viewer opens and a progress bar gives the loading percentage.
Wait for the progress bar to reach 100%

Actual result:
The application freezes.
After some seconds, the mouse cursor becomes laggy and freezes.
After more seconds, all Unity windows freeze.
None of the text-only console (ctrl+alt+F1) are accessible.
I had to switch off/switch on my computer.

Expected result:
The application is able to display the image, or at least freezes/crashes alone
without taking the whole system with him.

Thanks Mark, help me so much. :)

The problem is in the Bluetooth device address: The prefix (which
indicates the manufacturer) is different for your mouse. So the
workaround is add this line in the file
 /usr/share/gnome-bluetooth/pin-code-database.xml (close to the Wedge
 mouse entrance):
 device oui=28:18:78: type=mouse name=Microsoft Sculpt Comfort
 Mouse pin=/
Restart the system and try again to check if the problem persists. If
work well I will submit a patch for gnome-bluetooth.

Thanks for report this bug. :)

Does this help? Note it is the same mouse that originally gave problems
when this bug first appeared. It is also appearing twice in the list of
  devices (there is only one).

[Impact] The patch makes Microsoft Wedge/Sculpt Touch mice stay
  connected.
[Test Case] Get a Microsoft Wedge/Sculpt Touch mouse, pair it, restart

[Regression Potential] Little. The patched piece of XML is only
 relevant
to hardware having the same ID.

When you don't use the mouse for a long enough time, the mouse
disconnects and won't reconnect. I have to go into bluetooth settings,
remove it, and re-pair it.

Shazam - latest updates on Wily wallpaper boots normally. Every time so
far.

What was updated in Wily set wallpaper that 15.04 doesn't have? Let me
try updating 15.04 again.

Don't know if it can be useful, but often after the crash the bash shell
from which I've launched Eclipse doesn't respond to keyboard commands.
