I can confirm it: upgraded from 14.04 to 14.10 - no problem. Then 14.10 to 15.04 and reboot. Mouse pointer not visible. The issue is with Google-Chrome. I purged Chrome, rebooted and was able to set the default for the xml file to gedit. This also seems to be an issues in 15.04. The system monitor appears to double network throughput when using a VPN (likely because its adding the VPN interface throughput to the underlying wlan/eth interface throughput, effectively double counting it).
