2015-06-08 Thread xadder
Just tried another pdf which fails with the same errors:

ls -lt Issue_54_AprMay_2015.pdf
-rw-rw-r-- 1 davids davids 6452563 May 3 11:13 Issue_54_AprMay_2015.pdf

ie read permission for all. And my .Xauthority looks like:

[Bug 1406802] Re: Vivid Unity Wallpaper horizontally hashed

2015-06-08 Thread Venetin Konstantinov
With the latest kernel update 3.19.0-20 the hashing is worst then ever.
I am using variety for wallpaper changing and now on every wallpaper
change there is a hashing. I have to manualy change the wallpaper
multiple times to get to normal view. And of course the issue is not
only the wallpaper, but also other GTK elements which are hashed.

[Bug 1463159] [NEW] automount toggle in disks is reversed in 14.04

2015-06-08 Thread George
Public bug reported:

The toggle works but in reverse as in off works as on and on works as
off. Sorry I don't have more but you can see what I'm talking about
here: http://askubuntu.com/questions/633864/system-does-not-boot-after-
setting-display-name-for-main-root-partition/633898#633898

~$ lsb_release -rd

[Bug 781931] Re: New windows are moved to front but don't take focus

2015-06-08 Thread Fordi
Simple reproduction:

1. Open terminal.
2. Run any of the following commands:
* xdg-open .
- Expected: Nautilus opens, becomes front window with focus
- Actual: Nautilus opens, becomes first non-front window without focus
* xdg-open http://ubuntu.com
- Expected: Browser opens, becomes front window with focus
- Actual: Browser opens, becomes first non-front window without focus

Nautilus is opened, but sits below the terminal window. Rayner Pires
workaround, mentioned in February, causes the correct behavior, but I
don't know what side-effects it may cause.

This problem is fixed by updating ideviceinstaller to version 1.1.0.
The version available in Ubuntu Software Center is 1.0.1-0.2. Note that
you need to upgrade the whole stack because of library dependencies and
protocol mismatch (ideviceinstaller 1.1.0 cannot talk to usbmuxd 1.0.8).

[Bug 1463190] [NEW] HTC One M8 mounted as gphoto not mtp

2015-06-08 Thread Phill
Public bug reported:

On one an HTC One M8 auto-mounts in gvfs with an mtp:// location. On
the other (the computer used to report this bug) it mounts with a
gphoto2:// location.

Pressing CTRL+L in Nautilus and entering the appropriate mtp://
location manually mounts the device correctly and it works just fine,
but leaves the gphoto:// mounts in the left-hand panel.

gphoto:// is not appropriate for this device and does not support
reading and writing of all file types.

I have another computer with 14.04 installed which mounts the phone with
an mtp:// location automatically. I'm not sure why my other computer
is working but I don't remember doing anything to make it work and they
appear to have the same package versions installed for mtp and gvfs
packages - although I don't know if I checked them all as I'm not
familiar with which packages are used.

Based on this stack trace, I have determined that the crash occurs on line 949
of ev-sidebar-thumbnails.c when the following is executed:

cairo_surface_set_device_scale (job-thumbnail_surface, device_scale,
device_scale);

The crash occurs because job-thumbnail_surface is null. I have not yet
figured out why it is null though.

[Bug 1224732] Re: Custom keyboard shortcuts don't work

2015-06-08 Thread bitinerant
This problem has been bugging me for a very long time--custom and media
keyboard shortcuts occasionally not working; logging out and back in
usually fixes it. Comment #63 fixed it for me immediately (did not have
to log out). :-) To be clear, I ran CompizConfig (search for ccsm) and,
under the General category, unchecked the checkbox next to Commands.
What's more, this same procedure fixed the PrintScreen button on another
computer (both Ubuntu 14.04.2). I have not tried re-enabling CCSM
Commands.

[Bug 1463051] [NEW] Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Ubuntu 14.04LTS UNCLAIMED

2015-06-08 Thread seeyouu
Public bug reported:

Dear Sir/Mdm,

I'd posted this problem at ubuntuforums and a member called chili555 suggested
me to file a bugs report here.
Please refer to my original post:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2281584

I've just bought an ACER aspire E15 and and tried to run ubuntu 14.04
LTS with Windows8.1 dual booting.

I'd face the problem which I can't detect wireless network, while wired and
Bluetooth are working fine.
I tried to look for many solutions online and the closest solution maybe under
this post http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2172044, but unfortunately
none of them is working.

I believe this perhaps a new issue which never happen on any other
ubuntu user, so would like to seek for advise here.

The root cause of the issue maybe the driver for Qualcomm Atheros
QCA9377 is not available yet. but I do hope to look for any workaround.

Looking forward to hear from you soon.

Thank you very much

[Bug 1463072] [NEW] highlighting on left mouse double click ends at :

2015-06-08 Thread Scott Moser
Public bug reported:

I'm not perfectly sure when this regression occurred. I know that
3.14.2-0ubuntu4 did not have the issue, and that 3.16.2-1ubuntu1 does.

Its terribly annoying when copy and pasting links.

I'm not sure how this works or where the change occurred.
When i double click on a url (http://example.com/path)
its selection stops at the ':'. This means i keep pasting people urls that
look like /paste.ubuntu.com/11591324/ rather than
http://paste.ubuntu.com/11591324/ .

Note, mouse over the url *does* underline the whole url.
