[Bug 1467086] [NEW] Calculating wrong file sizes!

2015-06-20 Thread Crisalin Petrovschi
Public bug reported:

For example, on Nautilus, the properties menu will show the following data
about a file:
Name: Aptana_Studio_3_Setup_Linux_x86_64_3.6.1.zip
Type: Zip archive (application/zip)
Size: 123,7 MB (123.680.508 bytes)
The size in bytes is OK!
But, by my calculation, in MB the size is wrong:
123.680.508 / (1024 * 1024) =~ 117,95 (MB)
instead
123.680.508 / (1000 * 1000) =~ 123,68 (MB)
Thank you!
Cris

gnome-terminal is only a console application. The bad calculation is
done by whatever command-line program you used. What did you use? Wget,
for example?

[Bug 1322925] Re: [SRU] Copy, paste stops working randomly in Ubuntu 14.04 nautilus

2015-06-20 Thread max
I seem to have the same problem with a little twist:

I have the copy/ paste issue - it is intermittent but very annoying

But when I use F2 to edit a filename in Nautilus I would normally expect
the filename to be highlighted, without the extension. What actually
happens is the filename is highlighted briefly and then the cursor moves
to the end of the file with no highlight. I can't seem to actually
highlight the name. Highlighting elsewhere - in a browser for example -
works as expected

[Bug 1467131] [NEW] Directory /run/sendsigs.omit.d is somestimes not created on boot

2015-06-20 Thread Rafał Cieślak
Public bug reported:

This is happening on an up-to-date 15.04,with systemd=219-7ubuntu6.
Ocasionally, when booting up the system, network-manager service fails to
start, reporting in logs that it is missing /run/sendsigs.omit.d directory.
That file is indeed missing, although it is listed in
/usr/lib/tmpiles.d/debian.conf
The issue is reproducible when starting the system in recovery mode; in normal
mode it happens occasionally (about 50%).

Output of journalctl -b: http://paste.ubuntu.com/11745993/
Contents of /usr/lib/tempfiles.d/debian.conf: http://paste.ubuntu.com/11746045/

Running systemd-tmpfiles --create after such unsuccesfull boot creates
the missing directory (and some other too).

The problem is similar to #1431110, but that bug was found to be a
duplicate of another problem that is now fixed. Even with that fix, I am
experiencing a correlated issue. I considered commenting on that bug,
but marking it as non-incomplete (so that it would gain any attention)
would require unlinking the duplicate, which wouldn't be right.

[Bug 1467173] [NEW] poweroff or reboot hangs

2015-06-20 Thread Pavol Domin
Public bug reported:

After the upgrade to 15.04, poweroff or reboot hangs, the last message is
quotaoff.sh[PID]... done

It hangs if executed by clicking from the menu, as well as with the 'poweroff',
'reboot', or 'halt' commands from the terminal.
In debug console, in the journalctl -f output, this one error can be seen

Failed umounting /tmp

and the last messages before the freeze are like

Starting Final Step
Starting Power-Off
Shutting Down

I can still switch vt, but cannot type.

After some time, kernel writes:
info: task systemd-shadow:1 blocked for more than 120 seconds.

ctrl-alt-del does nothing. the only ways to bring server down seem to be
alt-sysrq or powerbutton.

[Bug 1467187] [NEW] allow usage of multicore implementations of compression tools

2015-06-20 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Public bug reported:

It'd be great to be able to use compression formation implementations
which allow multicore CPU usage (e.g. `pigz` for gunzip, `pbzip2` for
bzip2, etc.). Imo there's no argument against using them by default
because most user just will see an significant increase of speed with
some decent default values for parallelization options (`-p` of `pigz`,
etc.) based on the CPU (cores).
