I wonder if this could be an accountsservice issue as Sebastien Bacher
discovered in bug #1245915?

[Bug 1487859] [NEW] MPEG4 .ts files are recognized as text/vnd.trolltech.linguist and .dvr files as video/mpeg

2015-08-23 Thread Lex Ross
Public bug reported:

I record DVBT2 TV shows as a set of two files, one is the .ts MPEG4
transport stream and the other is .dvr binary file containing EPG
program description. On my Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS desktop those are
recognized as follows.

In Nautilus, .ts files are always mapped to text/vnd.trolltech.linguist
file(1) command reports them as either FoxPro FPT or data files

Nevertheless those .ts files are being played correctly when dropped
into Totem window.

Program description .dvr files are mapped to video/mpeg in Nautilus,
while file(1) command reports them as MPEG sequence, v2, program
multiplex. The only exception is info.dvr file not specific to any
program and used by the TV set, which is mapped correctly to application
/octet-stream in Nautilus and is reported as data by file(1) command.

Attached are the samples of the problematic files recorded by the TV
set.

[Bug 867749] Re: Permission Denied error when reading a pdf format file whos name doesn't end in .pdf

2015-08-23 Thread Stéphane V
This also affect Ubuntu 14.04 LTS with evince 3.10.3.

Workaround :

Modify the Apparmor security profile with these two commands :

sudo apt-get install apparmor-utils
sudo aa-complain /usr/bin/evince

and it should be working

[Bug 1487943] [NEW] Ctrl+z after deleting folder on GUI does not restore icon

2015-08-23 Thread Robert Blankenship
Public bug reported:

-What I did
I had 6 items in ~/Desktop
I deleted two (specifically, by deleting 1 then the other with the DEL key).
The icons disappeared from the Desktop AND from Nautilus
I pressed Ctrl+z twice. The items were restored on my system (as proved by ls
command) but the icons did not appear on my Desktop nor in a separate nautilus
window).

[Bug 1487404] Re: gnome-panel spins causing high cpu in Trusty 14.04

2015-08-23 Thread Lakshminarayanan Seshadri
It appears to do with either the Tooltip feature or interaction of
gnome-panel(via flashback) with Unity app-menu.
In my 12.04 LTS with gnome fallback the tooltip text appears properly and
gnome-panel is very quiet. So the issue must be with tooltip feature simply or
some other changes. Anyway i do not know details of bugs /changes in that area.
Since my machine at moment has no space for trying out latest builds(already
running 3 flavors) i leave it here . Would update if i get more data.

[Bug 1487943] Re: Ctrl+z after deleting folder on GUI does not restore icon

2015-08-23 Thread Robert Blankenship
Doing `xkill` on the Desktop and restarting nautilus from a terminal
restores the icons; I am not (yet) able to reproduce this bug after the
killing that specific instance of Nautilus.
