[Bug 1494402] [NEW] WebKitWebProcess WebKitGtk+ 2.4.8 uses memory without end when visiting some LinkedIn URL
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.10 with GNOME3 PPA. I launch Web, GNOME's default browser and I log in into my LinkedIn profile. Then, from the top bar I place my pointer over the "Connections" menu so it is expanded, once expanded, I click on the "See all" link: https://www.linkedin.com/people/pymk/hub?ref=global-nav&trk=nav_utilities_invites_header Upon doing so, the browser freezes and I notice the HD of my computer starting to work hard. After checking with "top" the WebKitWebProcess is growing its used memory by the Gbs!!! and it doesn't seem to stop. This may not be a problem in WKGTK+ but the graphics driver since, after repeating the process with a GDB attached to the WebKitWebProcess, GDB states that the point in which it exits when manually killing the process is: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/i965_dri.so However, I cannot reproduce with Chromium, FF (of course, the code path is completely different). ** Affects: mesa (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Package changed: nautilus-sendto (Ubuntu) => mesa (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus-sendto in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1494402 Title: WebKitWebProcess WebKitGtk+ 2.4.8 uses memory without end when visiting some LinkedIn URL To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/1494402/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 844081]
To my knowledge, Canonicals contribution is only in Canonicals patched version of accountsservice. If I install accountsservice-ubuntu from the Arch AUR, LightDM will then show the user background. Meaning, the underlying code is indeed in LightDM. But hey, what do I know? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/844081 Title: Unity Greeter - Background of the Unity Greeter should reflect the background chosen by the user that is currently selected To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/accountsservice/+bug/844081/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 844081]
My understanding is this bug is obsolete. canonical contributed a more general accountsservice feature for storing arbitrary metadata alongside the user. I'm not so sure of that. okay, but that doesn't have anything to do with this bug. [Bug 1244090] Re: Pressing any global keyboard shortcut causes temporary loss of focus
Should be hight priority bug. A lot of input fields have some behaviour for loosing focus. E.g. search field in gedit disappear when changing keyboard layout, guake with autohide is unusable because of this bug, a lot of web applications have problems etc. In fact, now there are a lot of annoying problems with using two or more layouts in Ubuntu, so comfortable work in system is impossible.
