[Bug 1497614] Re: Built-in Live Wallpaper integration - feature -request

2015-09-20 Thread Tim
gnome-control-center is not a 3rd party application.

However you should be able to right click on a file and select "select
as background", if you don't want to use that.

[Bug 1497614] Re: Built-in Live Wallpaper integration - feature request

2015-09-20 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
I am not saying that gnome-control-center is a third-party application,
I was merely suggesting the functionality in that.

I do not mean the normal sort of wallpaper image, I was meaning the
interactive (usually) animated type. Because to currently get that type
of wallpaper known as 'live wallpaper' you have to get a third-party
application, and I believe that an already built-in functionality to
achieve this would be better.

There is an article here on live wallpaper, however it requires you,
like the others, to get a third-party application located in an
unsupported and untrusted PPA: http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2012/11/live-
wallpaper-for-ubuntu

[Bug 1497614] Re: Built-in Live Wallpaper integration - feature request

2015-09-20 Thread Tim
There is native support for animated wallpapers (Which that tool seems
not to use), however there are no tools to automate the generation of
the xml files that describe these animations

This is not something we would likely implement, and should raised
upstream on the GNOME bugtracker. Link to the bug here if you file that!

Just to make a clarification, it does allow you to pin it to the built-
in GNOME docking area (AKA 'favourites') in the Activities Overview,
however not to any third-party docking applications such as Docky.

[Bug 1477182] Re: Transparency failing gnome-terminal

2015-09-20 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
I have tested this again in an Ubuntu 15.10 (with Unity) build and the
issue is not present, however it is still present in the Ubuntu GNOME
15.10 build that I tested it in.

** Description changed:

After recently changing from Ubuntu 15.04 with Unity, to Ubuntu Gnome
15.04, I have noticed that in Ubuntu Gnome, if I go into the profile
settings and enable Transparency for gnome-terminal, it will only take
effect once I have resized the gnome-terminal window by the means of
pulling the window to another side of my screen and make it snap to a
certain size (so if I pull it to the top it will maximize, if to the
side, it will only then take up half of the screen).

I have also noticed that if I open any other gnome-terminal window that
I must go into the settings, and change the settings slightly for the
Transparency (turning it off and on again, or moving the slider), even
though the settings show it to be on, then I must get it to do the
resize by dragging it to one edge of my screen (as I mentioned earlier)
for the gnome-terminal to be transparent, otherwise it stays whatever
colour I have set it to.

[Bug 1237355] Re: Logitech Ultrathin Touch Mouse needs to be repaired

2015-09-20 Thread Ryan Frank
I am also still experiencing the same issues using the Ultrathin Touch
Mouse on Ubuntu 14.04. In addition the cursor gets extremely laggy at
times. Not to the point where its unusable, but it is a noticeable drag.
