[Bug 1501967] [NEW] text area does not respond to system theme changes until terminal gets focus
Public bug reported: If the system theme is changed, gnome-terminal does not immediately change. Changes take effect only when the window receives focus. This is unlike much of the rest of the system. For example, side-bar icons and window borders change immediately. Ideally gnome-terminal would respond as well, so you can see the effects of different themes when trying one after another. STEPS TO REPRODUCE: 1. Open a gnome-terminal. 2. Terminal->Change Profile->Default (if necessary)E 3. Edit->Profile Preferences->Colors and check "Use colors from system theme" 4. Open system Appearances (WindowsKey->Appearances) in the "Look" tab: 5. Set theme to Ambiance (default) if necessary 6. Give the terminal focus; it should get a purple background 7. (back to Appearances window) CHange Theme to "High Contrast" EXPECTED RESULT: Terminal background changes immediately to the high- contrast theme's white background ACTUAL RESULT: Terminal background does not change, although the window border does change ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: gnome-terminal 3.14.2-0ubuntu3 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-30.33-generic 3.19.8-ckt6 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-30-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia ApportVersion: 2.17.2-0ubuntu1.5 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Thu Oct 1 17:21:31 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-08-06 (786 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) SourcePackage: gnome-terminal UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: gnome-terminal (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug third-party-packages vivid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-terminal in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1501967 Title: text area does not respond to system theme changes until terminal gets focus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1501967/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1501004] Re: Comma inserted when pressing AltGr or Alt key in evolution to/cc input fields
I figured that the unexpected comma, is actually inserted on purpose when the "CC" or "TO" input fields get focus. Though it might be a bit surprising that Evolution inserts a comma automatically (even when no valid mail exists in the input field), that is actually a feature. The root cause of this bug, seems to be that the input fields get unfocused for a short time and then get focus again. You have been subscribed to a public bug: I asked in #ubuntu-desktop and people couldn't reproduce this in vivid or trusty. It happened for me in the most recent wily iso. Open the indicator, click one of the greyed dates at the start or end of the month (sometimes requires more than one go). The active date starts to repeatedly jump between this date and another one. I ran with G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all and when it's happening this is spammed (I clicked a date in 2015-05). [Bug 1241101]
Many thanks for the analysis so far, the explanation with "empty radio label" makes a lot of sense! - Does anyone know if a ticket already exists with Ubuntu for getting this fixed ? We also do see the crash occasionally with Mars on Ubuntu 14.04 64-bit. The suggested workarounds SWT_GTK3=0 UBUNTU_MENUPROXY=0 have been applied. A fix in either Mars.2 or an Ubuntu 14.04 update would be highly appreciated !
