[Bug 1504665] [NEW] Evolution fails to show Imap folder "Inbox". It only shows the unexisting grayed-out empty folder "INBOX" (all caps)
Public bug reported: In my workplace, email is accessible via IMAP. The default mail client is Thunderbird (Windows). Thunderbird on Ubuntu does work correctly. I wanted though to use Evolution. However, evolution fails to show Inbox. Instead of Inbox it shows an empty, grayed-out "INBOX" (all-caps). This happens both on a fully updated installation of 15.04, and on a fully updated installation of 15.10 (I installed it in a Virtualbox VM and updated it with apt). I have tried to reproduce it with Evolution 3.18, but: - The OpenSuse live Gnome image mentioned in www.gnome.org/getting-gnome/ fails to load the X server within Virtualbox. - In Fedora 23 Beta live (in Virtualbox), Evolution fails to connect to the IMAP server. I then tried to install Fedora 23 Beta to disk (within Virtualbox) but Anaconda crashed every time I tried. [Bug 1463159] Re: automount toggle in disks is reversed in 14.04
Continued: Conversely, setting automount to off, requests authentication to add an entry to fstab and then does so, and at next boot the result is the drive is mounted at boot as seen here: http://imgur.com/cFB1eMg Perhaps it's just me but this seems counter-intuitive. Mark the entire 3rd paragraph and copy the text to the clipboard 3. Paste the text in an editor like mousepad 4. The order of words has changed now. One can see this already when marking the text. Everything is ok til the 2nd word of the 3rd line, then the next word should be "Sicherheitsvorteil" but "Früherkennung" in the 4th line gets marked instead. The original text looks like this: Fahren mit Licht am Tag bringt bei guten Lichtverhältnissen / optimalen Bedingungen (trockene Fahrbahn, beste Sichtverhältnisse) offensichtlich keinen realen Sicherheitsvorteil, da der geringe Zeitgewinn der Früherkennung durch längere Zuwendungsdauern zum Scheinwerfer paralysiert (zunichte gemacht) wird. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1175947] Re: gvfs-copy --preserve doesn't work with MTP devices
I'm sorry to read that the fix does not yet work in all cases. Following on from my previous post: I am using Ubuntu 15.10 beta2 followed by recent apt-get dist upgrade on +-30 September 2015. The gvfs package updated to: gvfs_1.24.2-0ubuntu1_amd64.deb I have tested the following three android devices: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910F (running Android 5.1) Samsung Galaxy S4 i9500 (running Android 5.0.1) Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 SM-P601 (running Android 4.4.2) I performed the following tests via usb: (1) Copying files from phone to Ubuntu laptop (RESULT: timestamp preserved) (2) Copying files from Ubuntu laptop to phone (RESULT: *** timestamp NOT preserved ***) (3) Copying files from phone to Windows 7 (RESULT: timestamp preserved) (4) Copying files from Windows 7 to phone (RESULT: timestamp preserved) All three android devices behave in the same way. It is weird that timestamps are properly preserved in both directions for Windows 7, yet timestamps are only preserved in one direction for Ubuntu (with gvfs 1.24.2). The previous post suggested that there are problems relating to lack of support from Google android developers (and that is why it is difficult for Linux developers to fix). Why then does it work properly for Windows if it is an Android problem? Clearly the problem is only partially solved for Ubuntu. It is still a serious problem if transferring files from Ubuntu to the phone destroys timestamps. Please, can someone fix this problem or contact someone who can! (for the sake of Linux!!!) (But I am still delighted that I can now move my photos & videos from my phone to my laptop without timestamp corruption. The problem was more serious for videos as it appears that no date information is stored inside the mp4 file; for jpg images, the date is stored inside the file). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gvfs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1175947 Title: gvfs-copy --preserve doesn't work with MTP devices To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1175947/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1174162] [NEW] chrome-browser makes gnome-keyring-daemon use 100% cpu
You have been subscribed to a public bug: After upgrading to 13.04, when starting the chromium browser, the gnome- keyring-daemon runs at full CPU load and the chromium-browser has no access to the stored passwords. The issue seems to be known (https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=98601). I'm personally a bit surprised that Ubuntu 13.04 was released with such a serious problem. The frequently proposed workaround (e.g. https://plus.google.com/110130355317073712944/posts/PckhFj5HUn4) doesn't work because (a) there is no .gnome2/keyrings any more and (b) it's rather inresponsible to store your passwords unencryted. I found that killing gnome-keyring-server several times eventually gives you a working system. --- ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8 Architecture: i386 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC0: mnl 18759 F pulseaudio CRDA: country DE: (2400 - 2483 @ 40), (N/A, 20) (5150 - 5250 @ 40), (N/A, 20), NO-OUTDOOR (5250 - 5350 @ 40), (N/A, 20), NO-OUTDOOR, DFS (5470 - 5725 @ 40), (N/A, 26), DFS DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 HibernationDevice: RESUME=UUID=86292e17-edd2-4a1b-8e1b-5208a1731140 InstallationDate: Installed on 2010-11-10 (900 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP Compaq 6730b (GB990EA#ABD) MarkForUpload: True Package: linux (not installed) ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.8.0-19-generic root=UUID=cff10fb4-08a2-459b-be12-80698b20d2d3 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-19.29-generic 3.8.8 RelatedPackageVersions: linux-restricted-modules-3.8.0-19-generic N/A linux-backports-modules-3.8.0-19-generic N/A linux-firmware1.106 Tags: raring Uname: Linux 3.8.0-19-generic i686 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-04-28 (0 days ago) UserGroups: adm admin cdrom dialout libvirtd lpadmin plugdev sambashare voice wireshark WifiSyslog: Apr 29 07:28:34 lipp-nb wpa_supplicant[1803]: wlan0: WPA: Group rekeying completed with c0:25:06:24:93:e1 [GTK=CCMP] dmi.bios.date: 12/07/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: Hewlett-Packard dmi.bios.version: 68PDD Ver.
