[Bug 1496227] Re: Remove glade-3, libdesktop-agnostic from Archive, 15.10+

2015-10-20 Thread Bryan Quigley
Dockmanager has been removed... Thanks! I created a new bug for
libdesktop-agnostic - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source
/libdesktop-agnostic/+bug/1508303, after which this bug can be taken
care of.

** Description changed:

With Quickly removed per bug 1494345 there are no Reverse Dependencies
  on glade-3.

- Source packages: glade-3, libdesktop-agnostic
- Binary packages: glade-gnome glade-gtk2 libgladeui-1-11 libgladeui-1-dev
libdesktop-agnostic-bin libdesktop-agnostic-cfg-gconf
libdesktop-agnostic-cfg-keyfile libdesktop-agnostic-data
libdesktop-agnostic-dev libdesktop-agnostic-doc libdesktop-agnostic-fdo-gio
libdesktop-agnostic-fdo-glib libdesktop-agnostic-fdo-gnome
libdesktop-agnostic-vfs-gio libdesktop-agnostic0 libdesktop-agnostic0-dbg
python-desktop-agnostic
+ Source packages: glade-3,
+ Binary packages: glade-gnome glade-gtk2 libgladeui-1-11 libgladeui-1-dev

There is a suggests from libglade2-dev (not being removed) -> glade-
gnome but this is also broken in Debian
  -https://packages.debian.org/sid/libglade2-dev

These packages appear to have been removed from Debian for quite some time,
glade-gnome is currently only found in oldoldstable.
(The one exception is https://packages.debian.org/sid/libgladeui-1-dev which
I don't really understand)

There appears to be no future updates coming -
  https://git.gnome.org/browse/glade/?h=glade-3-8

It was previously removed in 2011 but added back to keep support for
create/editing gtk2 uis - also due to Quickly, per bug
  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/glade-3/+bug/825070. I don't
believe it's worth keeping in 2015.

See comment #2 for more about libdesktop-agnostic

** Summary changed:

  2. Complete the welcome wizard and scope tutorial.

[Bug 1508177] Re: When setting scaling to 2 libreoffice's theme is switched to gtk3

2015-10-20 Thread Björn Michaelsen
Root cause: Because of:

 https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=93145

the themes including human" are not self contained anymore. Thus we need
to install galaxy along with human, otherwise human would miss icons. We
do this.

However, on a new install without any ~/.config/libreoffice profile,
LibreOffice now defaults to galaxy, not human. This wasnt observed in
upgrade migrations and tests as those always had an preexisting profile.

** Changed in: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu)
Assignee: (unassigned) => Björn Michaelsen (bjoern-michaelsen)

** Package changed: gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu) => ubuntu

** Description changed:

  STEPS:
  1. Install the latest daily cd image
  2. Open libreoffice writer check the theme and close it
- 3. Open system settings
- 4. Open Screen Disply
- 5. Move the scaling slider to 2
- 6. Open libreoffice writer again check the theme

  EXPECTED:
- I expect the theme to always be human unless I physically change it
+ I expect the theme to always be human unless I explicitly change it

  ACTUAL:
- The theme changes from human to gtk3 when scaling is enabled
+ The default theme on a new install is galaxy, though human is installed.

** Changed in: ubuntu

[Bug 1507985] Re: language on terminal is da-dk instead of nb-no

2015-10-20 Thread Alexander Vinbæk Strand
as i can see in the line "LANGUAGE=nb_NO:nb:no_NO:no:nn_NO:nn:da:sv:en"
it says da (Danish) and sv (Swedish) and en (English), but what does
that mean?

I have not chosen more than one language on the Ubuntu GNOME system
because I choose Norwegian when I installed, and I expect it to be just
Norwegian then and English (or Nynorsk nn-no) when it's no translation
available on Norwegian bokmål (nb-no)

[Bug 1501250] Re: double clicking on a URL drops the protocol from the URL

2015-10-20 Thread LGB [Gábor Lénárt]
Quite ugly "bug" :( I had the habit "since ages" (ehhh) to work in
terminal windows, and copy&paste URLs etc. It worked nicely with a quick
double click on the URL which does not work anymore after upgrade to
Wily :( I understand that it was not meant to select URLs anyway (and
not a perfect solution either), but in practice it worked reasonably
well. I've just wanted to write a bug report about this, however
launchpad was intelligent enough to find me a similar already existing
bug report, this one ;)

[Bug 1507764] Re: metacity crashed with signal 5 in _XEventsQueued() ; forcing gnome session to logout

2015-10-20 Thread Stephane Lapie
It seems to crash when I switch windows (alt+tab ; even falling back to
the static application switcher does not alleviate the bug).

For reference, I do a lot of translation work, which requires me to have
gedit, mplayer, evince running at the same time and heavily switching
between these. (Especially mplayer/evince probably take a lot of
memory).

When metacity crashes, everything freezes while apport runs and writes its
files, during which only the audio players and non graphical stuff keep running
(if I am lucky I can SSH and force gedit to save my work), and once apport
finishes, in a split second, every window just loses its decorations, and I am
forced back to the login screen. Logs indeed indicate this :
/var/log/syslog.1:Oct 20 05:22:14 archer gnome-session[29421]: WARNING: App
'metacity.desktop' respawning too quickly
/var/log/syslog.1:Oct 20 05:22:14 archer gnome-session[29421]:
gnome-session[29421]: WARNING: App 'metacity.desktop' respawning too quickly

But I can't confirm with the bare eye that it tries to reload anything,
or what the respawn threshold is.

2015-10-20 Thread Stephane Lapie
Sorry, forgot to specify this : the Alt+Tab crash is indeed seemingly random.
At one point after one day or two of running, Alt+Tab will start leaving
refresh artifacts (parts of another window that I was browsing while switching)
and eventually just outright freeze and crash.

2015-10-20 Thread Mathieu Pellerin
Sebastien, I'm running the nightly version of Firefox, and it is built
against gtk3, and well, it does crash :)

When you say the issue has been resolved, do you mean resolved in the
gfvs version that'll be shipped with ubuntu 15.10?
