[Bug 1512915] Re: Update to 3.18

2015-11-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package gnome-settings-daemon -
3.18.1-1ubuntu1

---
gnome-settings-daemon (3.18.1-1ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=medium

  * Merge with Debian, remaining changes (LP: #1512915):
+ Split out schemas into gnome-settings-daemon-schemas so
  unity-settings-daemon can use them
+ Provide upstart user-session
+ debian/patches:
   - 05_disable_corner_tapping.patch:
Disable corner tapping when disabling tap to click
   - 43_disable_locale_settings.patch:
Don't set locales after sourcing .profile
   - 45_suppress-printer-may-not-be-connected-notification.patch
   - 53_sync_input_sources_to_accountsservice.patch
   - 64_restore_terminal_keyboard_shortcut_schema.patch
   - correct_logout_action.patch
display the logout action on ctrl-alt-del (lp: #961501)
   - ubuntu-lid-close-suspend.patch
Reimplement support for setting lid close suspend actions
   - revert_background_dropping.patch
Keep gsettings keys background u-s-d needs them
   - revert-gsettings-removals.patch
Revert gsettings keys that were dropped since 3.8, for u-s-d
   - 01_reinstate_updates_plugin.patch, keep this for now until we have
gnome-software now which is responsible for the update notifications.
+ debian/gnome-settings-daemon.install: Install apport hook
+ debian/rules:
  - install upstart scripts
  - Dont link with "-Wl,-Bsymbolic-functions",
this was causing GType mismatches between plugins using
gsd-device-manager (LP: #1427877)
  * debian/patches:
+ revert-gsettings-removals.patch: updated for keys removed in 3.18
+ nexus-orientation.patch: Dropped this will be handled by iio-sensor-proxy
+ ubuntu-lid-close-suspend.patch: refreshed
  * debian/gnome-settings-daemon-schemas.gsettings-override: Dropped, these are
already the default settings

[Bug 1132063] Re: Mouse settings missing from Mouse & Touchpad dialog

2015-11-08 Thread tjagoda
Just a workaround here - I am also affected by this bug, but the
terminal command xset allows you to adjust the mouse speed using the
command line. I suggest doing a man xset to learn more about the
command, but "xset m 1.3 0" is the magic number for me. The format of
the command is xset m . More explanation on what
threshold means can be found in the manpages.

[Bug 1122613] Re: XDG Base Directory Specification environment variables aren't set by default

2015-11-08 Thread MestreLion
This is not a bug, as the standard specification linked in the
description clearly defines what defaults values should be used if the
environment vars are empty or not set. So there is no need to set the
values unless you want to change the default ones, and it would be
redundant to set them to their default.

Could someone check if installing this helps?

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-gnome-default-settings

tried to find out which exact packet is fixing it for me and ubuntu-

[Bug 1514160] [NEW] contradictory geometry description

2015-11-08 Thread Pablo Piaggio
Public bug reported:

gnome-terminal's man pages describes option --geometry as:

--geometry=GEOMETRY
X geometry specification (see "X" man page), can be specified
once per window to be opened.

which is basically size in pixels and a position in the format
WIDTHx‐HEIGHT+XOFF+YOFF, e.g. 1280x720+0+0

However, gnome-terminal --help-all describes --geometry as:

--geometry=GEOMETRY Set the window size; for example:
80x24, or 80x24+200+200 (COLSxROWS+X+Y)

in other words, as columns by rows of text.

Currently gnome-terminal in an updated 14.04 works following the latter
definition, i.e., --geometry describes columns and rows of text.

Regards.

[Bug 1514199] [NEW] GIMP's GEGL C2G operation hangs

2015-11-08 Thread Esteve Boix
Public bug reported:

When I run GEGL's C2G operator:

- The operation hangs (it does not crash, it just hangs) more or less in
the middle of the process.

- The operator works in rectangles. Some of these rectangles are
obviously darker than the rest of the image.

- I takes way longer than before. Maybe the parameters have changed
their meaning or the internals have changed, and the iterations and
samples have to be lower. I don't know right now.

I usually run at a radius of 1600, 40 samples, 20 iterations on 16MPix
images (4928 x 3264).

[Bug 1462664] Re: [Ubuntu Phone] With WIFI = ON the GPS stops

2015-11-08 Thread taiebot65
I tested this silo for this bug #1480877 and it does seem to solve the problem
also. GPS seems to work nicely on Mako.
The only stuff i have noticed with this silo is the photo inside scopes are
much bigger than normally. e.g. go to weather map scope and click on one icon.
the icon goes almost full screen i do not think that was happening before.

[Bug 1240336] Re: After release upgrade, the user looses permissions for several basic actions in the system

I ran into this problem on Lubuntu 14.04. On that machine, the user

users were affected.

The workaround was to join the regular users to the sudo group to please
polkit. Since I really wanted those users to be "power less" I also
added those sudoer rules:

[Bug 1500673] Re: gdm unusable after upgrading to 15.10

2015-11-08 Thread Natron
I now installed only ubuntu-gnome-default-settings on a second PC with
the same problem and changed back to gdm. It worked there as well. So a
fix for this problem seems to be contained in this packet.

[Bug 1514288] Re: Japanese Character Encoding Bug

2015-11-08 Thread dupingping
case "$TERM" in
xterm*|rxvt*)
PS1="\[\e]0;${debian_chroot:+($debian_chroot)}\u@\h: \w\a\]$PS1"
;;
*)
;;
esac

I found above lines at the .bashrc.
And the escape character, "\[\e]0;" does not work on Japanese(ISO-2022-JP)
Encoding.

[Bug 369522] Re: obexpushd and obexftp not correctly restarted after S3/S4

2015-11-08 Thread yuanzhanghui
Can somebody tell me why ubuntu PC (12.04 ) can't automatically receive files
over Bluetooth and save them with no user interaction ?
I already install obexpushd with the command : $sudo apt-get install obexpushd
After installed it , i create a file : /etc/init/obexpushd.conf and add the
following code in this file .
chdir /home/USERNAME
exec obexpushd -n
start on startup
$sudo initctl reload-configuration
$sudo start obexpushd
But it seems can't automatically receive files over Bluetooth .

[Bug 1514288] Re: Japanese Character Encoding Bug

2015-11-08 Thread Egmont Koblinger
Does setting a much simpler PS1 make the bug go away? E.g.
PS1='$'

Can you please share the current values of PS1 and PROMPT_COMMAND?
echo "$PS1"
echo "$PROMPT_COMMAND"
