[Bug 322271] Re: Sorting by name doesn't work well with digits or special chars

2015-12-11 Thread Grizzly
Well, nice to see something's going on. The sort just sucks. Why not AT
LEAST provide the option to chose between plain ascii-codepage-utf-8
-number-in-the-charmap-style sort and this broken natural sort?

[Bug 1525435] [NEW] Connecting to GDM via XDMCP crashes it

2015-12-11 Thread Dana Goyette
Public bug reported:

I've enabled XDMCP in GDM, and created an xinetd service for VNC via
XDMCP.

Any time I try to connect via VNC, gdm crashes, taking down the local display
as well.
After that, gdm won't start again until I kill the "orphaned" local display.

It looks like the fix is a single-line change:

[Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-12-11 Thread Tony Espy
@Selene

Just wanted to confirm that we don't need any more investigation re:
your comment #131 ( I think that may be the largest comment # I've seen
in a LP bug ), as your latest update to bug #1524133 indicated that
you'd isolated the problem to a SIM with an expired data plan?

@Timo

We should probably close this bug out when OTA8.5 is released, and then
push another update to the PPA that contains the updated patch with the
desktop crash fix ( bug #1523975 ). I've attached yet another of the
version of the patch which just includes the additional wiredDevice NULL
check from Lorn's latest patch.

@Lorn

Thanks again for all the help. Again, once the OTA8.5 update has been
released, we can focus on transitioning to the connectivity API based bearer
plugin for our next update.

[Bug 1525402] [NEW] "Input Sources" button looks out of place in Keyboard settings

2015-12-11 Thread Nikita Yerenkov-Scott
Public bug reported:

I am running Ubuntu GNOME 15.10 with GNOME 3.18 and I have recently
noticed that in the gnome-control-center, at the bottom in the KeyBoard
section there is a button which says "Input Sources":
Input_Sources_Out_Of_Place_Button.png

Though this button is only text, so actually not very obviously a button
and in fact looks quite out of place, until I clicked it and it took me
somewhere else I didn't really know what it was... The only time that a
button like outline actually appeared around it was when I clicked it
and that was only brief. So I really think that you should firstly make
this button look more like a button (e.g.: add a boarder round it), and
secondly actually put it somewhere on the page where it doesn't look
just completely out of place, I don't know, maybe somewhere at the top
or something, but it just looks odd and out of place where it currently
is...

[Bug 1523086] [NEW] Ubuntu 15.10: GNOME Terminal window loses mouse cursor

2015-12-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Ubuntu: Ubuntu 15.10
Package: gnome-terminal-3.16.2-1ubuntu4
Problem:

Sometimes, but always when out of focus, a GNOME terminal window will
lose mouse icon when it is hovered over the window. Clicking the window
(and thus bringing it back in focus) restores the mouse icon.

Once all that starts to happen, any URLs in the terminal stop showing pointer
cursor when hovered over, but they do respond to clicks and right-clicks.

[Bug 253167] Re: Rhythmbox sort by "Album Artist" for guest/compilations

2015-12-11 Thread Ben
Cheers, I am using Rhythmbox in 2015. Let me explain why.

1. It is extremely clean, which I love and this also fits my Lubuntu
System. Banshee is not nice to look at.

2. It is supporting the folders of my NAs that I mount via SMB. Amarok
and GKTpod do not provide this.

That's why i decided to use it even after I recognised that I cannot
sort my compilations via albumartist. I decided to override all the
artists with only one. I like a simpe structure. But it feels wrong to
not have access to the real artists of the songs any more.

So I really would ask for someone to code this. Rhythmbox is an awesome
client and fits extremely well into the whole Lubuntu world.

Thank you very much,
Ben

Just managed to find that the culprit is actually the clutter plugin
(gstreamer1.0-clutter-3.0), uninstalling that (sudo dpkg -r --force-
depends gstreamer1.0-clutter-3.0) makes the session start again.

[Bug 1500039] Re: Ubuntu Phone is not getting a mobile network cell triangulation position

2015-12-11 Thread Thomas Voß
We are only relying on the currently connected to radio-cell to estimate
a position and it can take up to 20 seconds until a first position
estimate from the network is obtained. The likely difference with
android for example is that we do not hand information about neighboring
radio cells to the network-based positioning provider.

Also note that applications have no way of forcing the system to use
this information (on purpose). The location infrastructure will make
sure that all required providers to achieve a fast and accurate fix are
powered on whenever an application requests position updates.

I will come up with actual measurements of the time it takes to obtain a
position estimate after updates have been enabled.
