[Bug 1480904] Re: Sign in for google doesn't meet modern security standards

2016-01-24 Thread Felipe Figueiredo
I have since removed and re-added my gtalk accounts, and have been using
the workaround of bug #1069531 as often as required (killall
signonpluginprocess).

I don't know if this bug is related to bug #1069531. Maybe they are the
duplicates?

If this bug happens to me again, I'll try to find the time to
investigate more.

[Bug 1509724] Re: natilus corrupet double-linked list on delete

2016-01-24 Thread Peter Bennett
Sorry for the multiple posts. - I resolved the problem on my system by
deleting the /home/username/.local/share/Trash directory. Then when
deleting a file from Nautilus or Thunar, it re-created the Trash
directory and after that it successfully moves deleted files to trash
and no longer crashes Nautilus or Thunar.

[Bug 1509724] Re: natilus corrupet double-linked list on delete

2016-01-24 Thread Peter Bennett
This may be associated with the fact that I have my home directory on a
different file system from root. With Ubuntu 12.04 it would simply say
you cannot move files to trash and would ask if you would like to delete
them instead. With 15.10 it crashes Nautilus or Thunar instead of
offering that option. With 15.10 you can get around this problem by
enabling "Delete" in preferences and then using Shift-Delete to delete
files.

[Bug 1536237] Re: gnome-screensaver-command --lock starts the daemon

2016-01-24 Thread Jarno Suni
Well, here (in Xubuntu Linux) it launches automatically:

$ killall light-locker
light-locker: no process found
$ gnome-screensaver --version
gnome-screensaver 3.6.1
$ ps aux | grep [g]nome-screensaver
$ gnome-screensaver-command --lock
$ ps aux | grep [g]nome-screensaver
myusername9731  0.0  0.7 470112 30284 ?Sl   18:26   0:00
/usr/bin/gnome-screensaver --no-daemon
$ killall gnome-screensaver
$ killall gnome-screensaver
gnome-screensaver: no process found

It is odd, since the command line tells --no-daemon is used as a command
line argument.

[Bug 11334] Re: MASTER Copy-Paste doesn't work if the source is closed before the paste

2016-01-24 Thread JohnWashington
@Fred: yes, you're right, on Lubuntu I installed Parcellite and it
worked fine. But, with respect, which clipboard manager to use is not
the point. The point is that Ubuntu and its relatives should be
providing this functionality out of the box, not requiring users to
figure out what's needed themselves or requiring 100's of applications
all to implement functionality independently.

Perhaps some would say that this would add bloat to Ubuntu. Well, that
would hardly be a first. One doesn't use Ubuntu if something really
stripped down and minimal is called for, that niche is filled by plenty
of other distros, not least being Debian.

300+ comments and still no real progress. What does it need to get
clipboard managers included in Ubuntu? Not 'available' for the few who
know, but 'included' so that everyone benefits, even the absolute
beginners trying Linux for the first time?
