[Bug 95853] Re: Nautilus: too easy to move files/folders to Trash (single key press of "Delete")
Isaac, thank you for that comment - you are just hitting the nail on the head!! I'm IT professional for 25 years and decided to change to ubuntu 8.04 LTS - I really like it. On the other hand I can't believe that nobody took care on the need of so many users since more than 8 years now. I read about hundreds of workarounds in GNOME to change Nautilus short cuts, but I didn't make any of them work for Ubuntu. Hitting DEL by accident may happen to everybody !! Please Nautilus developers out there bring this annoying discussion to an end. any of the above mentioned options would be fine. I hate wasting time to check the trash before deleting its content - that's just not user friendly. Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. [Bug 207330] Re: gthumb is hogging on the cpu after searching for images
I encounter the same issues. When running from terminal, gthumb reports in a very high frequency: "Warning: Photoshop IRB data is not padded to even size" It seems some thumbnails won't be created due to some error while reading the jpeg file, and gthumb endlessly repeats trying to recreate the thumbnail. Same thing sometimes happend for video files. It also happens in nemo sometimes, where the thumbnail shows a waiting symbol endlessly while hogging the cpu. I guess gthumb (and nemo) would have to handle thumbnailing errors more gracefully (do not retry). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/207330 Title: gthumb is hogging on the cpu after searching for images To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/207330/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 1550319] [NEW] Blurry text in hidpi mode
Public bug reported: On every possible zoom level the text appears blurry. Everything else is sharp as you can see on the attached screenshot. I have set the scale to 2x in displaysettings because i am using a 4k hidpi display. It has 140dpi. I have marked the text so you can see its not just a scaled image. It is text. I am able to copy text and paste it in a textfield. [Bug 1292398] Re: Second screen position isn't saved from one session to another
I have the same/similar issue with Ubuntu 15.10, Unity, NVidia GTX 970, NVidia-352 prop driver. My main display (the left one) is 1920x1080 plugged in via HDMI, and my second monitor is 1280x1024 via DVI. I setup my big monitor to be the left one, and my smaller to be the right one via Unity display settings. On system boot, boot screen and information is only shown on my smaller right monitor, left monitor doesn't even get a signal. On login screen, login credentials are only shown on the smaller right screen, with an expanded wallpaper showing on the left. After login, the left monitor is set correctly to the left, but full screen applications like most of my games start on the smaller right monitor by default. I can fix this after every login via NVidia Xserver Settings app and marking my left monitor as primary, then every game starts correctly on my left monitor. I worked around this now with a startup script setting the primary monitor to the left one via xrandr command. Can't understand why this issue is still low, as it is a very annoying usability bug. Hope this get's fixed in 16.04 LTS! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-settings-daemon in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1292398 Title: Second screen position isn't saved from one session to another To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+bug/1292398/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
