Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.

[Bug 1606238] Re: gnome-software won't open

2016-07-25 Thread Jaufré Aligé
This time, it's a laptop. Old one with amd cpu and 911 nvidia GPU.
Nvidia driver 340.

Gnome-software opens and asks for update so every package can be
displayed.

I installed updates, removed nvidia driver (nouveau is more stable on
this old machine), installed vlc, ffmpeg, libavcodec-extra, libavtools,
synaptic, chromium-browser (everything with sudo apt update | remove |
install).

[Bug 1606319] [NEW] Nautilus executing "folder up" command subsequently inside NFS mounted folders

2016-07-25 Thread rjb
Public bug reported:

I've got automounted several NFS folders using this kind of command in fstab:
192.168.1.10:/Pictures/mnt/Pictures nfs
noauto,x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.device-timeout=10,x-systemd.idle-timeout=1min
 0 0

These mounts are linked to the default home folders using this kind of command:
ln -s /mnt/Pictures/ /home/my_pc/

If I browse into a folder which is physically there (e.g. "Downloads"),
everything is fine.
If I browse into one of the mounted/linked folders, nautilus navigates
subsequently back to the home folder. It navigates in the tree up folder by
folder in about one folder per minute. I can even minimize the Nautilus window
and do something else and when I open the window again it made several steps
back. Therefore any strange commands coming from input devices can be excluded.

1) The release of Ubuntu you are using, via 'lsb_release -rd' or System ->
About Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Release:16.04

2) The version of the package you are using, via 'apt-cache policy pkgname' or
by checking in Software Center
nautilus:
  Installiert: 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu4
  Installationskandidat: 1:3.18.4.is.3.14.3-0ubuntu4

500 http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu xenial/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

3) What you expected to happen
nothing should happen

4) What happened instead
Nautilus subsequently browses back to the home folder if you navigated into a
folder that is mounted by NFS.

[Bug 1292041] Re: Lockscreen doesn't turn off the screen

2016-07-25 Thread Mateusz Stachowski
To all the users with multi monitor systems still having problems please
open a new bug report about this issue.

This bug is fixed and it will not get any attention from developers.

Bug reports have a very narrow scope. So one bug can't cover all the
configurations and multi monitor systems aren't a common thing. Most
users use only one monitor.

So if there isn't already a bug report for multi monitor systems please
open it and give the link here so all the other users affected can mark
it as affecting them and provide any additional info.

[Bug 1606238] [NEW] gnome-software won't open

2016-07-25 Thread Jaufré Aligé
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I upgrade the system from Ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 some time ago.
At beginning, gnome-software refused to open and I had to remove old ubuntu
software and "--reinstall" the gnome-software.
Everything was fine, except for many sorts of packages it can't install so I
installed synaptic.

Some days ago, gnome software went on a strike but claimed nothing !
I can open a terminal and call gnome-software : nothing
The launcher turns around in the dock.

Any Idea ?

[Bug 1606165] [NEW] caps lock warning behaviour on 14.04

2016-07-25 Thread Jacques
Public bug reported:

As suggested by another user, I post here what I've first asked in the
"Answers"
section(https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+question/299444)

Hello,

I wonder if the caps lock warning on password fields behaviour introduced in
2.16 is the one that's expected (at least on 14.04) :
The warning label only appears when you press the caps lock. Once the key
released it disappears. You then must press another key (a letter for example)
to see the warning logo again. Then it stays. Also if you don't release the
caps lock key it stays displayed.
Why can't it be persistent after pressing/releasing the caps lock key the first
time?

Is this the "correct" behaviour? Or is my system configuration guilty?
If it is the expected behaviour I must say this can lead to incorrect
interpretation for non-IT users, the caps lock warning should be displayed
right after the caps lock key is pressed/released.

Thanks
