However, the link to bug #927340 is dead, so it's not really a duplicate

The bug is affecting my installation as well. Any update on a fix. The
bug post dates to back 4 months, so I would have thought that there was

[Bug 61570] Re: All sticky notes are erased when out of disk space

2016-08-03 Thread Kenny Hendrick
Today is August 3, 2016
There were critical notes kept using stickynotes. Everything was gone today.
I searched the net to find out if I was using some sort of defective choice in
note-keeping software when I came across this post, "ALL STICKY NOTES ARE
ERASED WHEN OUT OF DISK SPACE".
Ouch. I was doing a recovery on a hard drive and DID, in fact, run out of
drive space.
For the record, I'm presently still toying around with mint 13 (on the
particular computer in question) and that the loss may have occurred exactly as
the author of this post has described.

[Bug 1609546] [NEW] Slow DNS lookup through Netgear DG834G V4 router

2016-08-03 Thread Colin Law
Public bug reported:

On up to date Yakkety if I specify my Netgear router as the DNS server (via
Network Manager) then DNS lookup takes about 30 seconds. I see the delay when I
run, for example,
systemd-resolve www.google.com
or
wget www.google.com

I do not see the same delay if I run
nslookup www.google.com

A clue may be that in syslog I see
Aug 3 21:20:56 dibbler systemd-resolved[2362]: Using degraded feature set
(UDP+EDNS0+DO) for DNS server 127.0.1.1.
Aug 3 21:21:16 dibbler systemd-resolved[2362]: Using degraded feature set
(UDP+EDNS0) for DNS server 127.0.1.1.
Aug 3 21:21:32 dibbler systemd-resolved[2362]: Using degraded feature set
(UDP) for DNS server 127.0.1.1.

I do not see the issue if I specify an external DNS server.
I do not see the issue on 16.04, nor previous versions, or on other devices
connected to the network. I have been using this router for years.

[Bug 1609358] Re: Colours are shown incorrectly for any displayed image

2016-08-03 Thread Peter Freeth
Yes I think you are right, same bug.

The thing is, I do actually need colour profiles because I calibrate my
monitors, and Shotwell does actually display correctly. So removing the
profiles isn't an option for me, and if I want to quickly preview an
image or look through photos, eog is just a bit easier that Shotwell.

[Bug 1609358] [NEW] Colours are shown incorrectly for any displayed image

2016-08-03 Thread Peter Freeth
Public bug reported:

When I open any jpg or png image in eog, the colours are shown
incorrectly, as if only a subset of the full colour palette is being
displayed. This looks like a 'posterisation' effect. SVG images with
embedded pngs or jpgs seem to display correctly. jpg images from various
different sources all suffer the same problem. Shotwell viewer shows the
same image correctly.

[Bug 1609342] [NEW] Gnome-terminal sets directory to HOME for ctrl-shift-n and custom shell command

2016-08-03 Thread Zwinkau
Public bug reported:

With Ubuntu 14.04 I could Ctrl-Shift-N in my gnome-terminal and another
terminal window came up with the same working directory. When I upgraded
to 16.04.1, the new terminal window now always uses $HOME as working
directory. I want the 14.04 behavior.

This has nothing to do with sourcing /etc/profile.d/vte.sh. Fish does
this correctly as I can observe directory changes in the title bar. If I
uncheck the custom command box in my gnome-terminal profile, the new
terminal window correctly uses the current directory. However, it uses
my system default shell: bash.

For some reason gnome-terminal does not set the working directory if I
use a custom command.

[Bug 1606238] Re: gnome-software won't open

2016-08-03 Thread Alexander Grünewald
Well, I downloaded the necessary libraries for yakkety and recompiled
the gnome-software with packagekit support, but i got the same result as
before.

I found that if you have uncontrolled or unstable network connection,
gnome software could not see it and places the selected packages into
the queue, instead of installing. After this, gnome software won't open.

For example, if using pppoe with network manager, gnome-software works
perfectly, but the sites are opened too slow (in my case, that is why i
am using pppoeconf). From other hand, after setting pppoe connection
with pppoeconf, the sites are opened quickly, bug gnome-software
affected with many assigned bugs which were opened here.

You can check this by starting GS, selecting the tab "upgrades" and
clicking update button in the upper left hand corner of the application
window. If a message Network is unreachable or something about pop up,
than thats the problem.

The logic is very clear - "have no network - can't install".

In any case it is not only ubuntu problem, so this bug can be closed.

[Bug 1227824] Re: please add trust-store integration to e-d-s for calendar API

2016-08-03 Thread Kugi Eusebio
This bug is quite old and I think in need of urgency.
There are apps that would like to use the calendar API like Alarm and Reminders
but cannot because of this bug (me included :) ).
Also, the documentation in the developer site needs to indicate that developers
cannot freely use them as of the moment. The Alarm and AlarmModel have been
listed in the components and there's no mention that the calendar policy is
needed and that it is still in "reserved" status.
