[Bug 1581775] Re: No option to (de)select add ons upon installation
Switching to PackageKit might be an option for Yakkety, but PK comes with its own set of bugs (mainly due to the aptcc PK backend being "undermaintained" for a few years). The PK issues are documented in the PackageKit bugtracker though and are just waiting for a brave person to fix them ;-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-software in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1581775 Title: No option to (de)select add ons upon installation To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/appstream-glib/+bug/1581775/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1581775] Re: No option to (de)select add ons upon installation
I tried the new appstream-glib (when it was released) with yakkety's gnome-software and the addon feature works poorly with multiple UI issues. I'm guessing the buggy apt plugin is part of the problem. Although it's a bug fix, we should check whether the UI change works well before introducing it to an LTS. [Bug 1314556] Re: Unable to mount Android MTP device
MTP access is broken Galaxy Note 7 (6.0.1) with 256GB card connected to Kubuntu 16.04 with kernel 4.7.2, same with S5 with 64GB card and S3 Phones are set to developer mode USB set to File Transfer Amarok is not installed. Dolphin will connect, but it's intermittent. If a connection is made it will fail when accessing files or transferring files. I've tried Konqueror and Krusader same intermittent behavior. No reliable access on Kubuntu/Ubuntu VirtualBox on Kubuntu 16.04 running Windows 7 does supply reliable access Why is this such a problem on Ubuntu, it's been years and no fix What do it take to fix this, I think there are enough developers out there that a focused effort could be launched to resolve this problem. mtp-detect | grep idVendor Device 0 (VID=04e8 and PID=6860) is a Samsung Galaxy models (MTP). LIBMTP ERROR: couldnt parse extension samsung.com/devicestatus:4 Error 1: Get Storage information failed. [Bug 1618370] [NEW] nautilus does not show external drives in sidebar if plugged in on reboot
Public bug reported: nautilus 3.20 should show external drivers in its sidebar (I believe this is the case since 3.19). It always shows my SD card drive in the sidebar, but it only shows external USB drives in the sidebar if I plug them in once I have logged into the desktop. If they are plugged in during a reboot and I log in, they only appear in 'Other Locations' (and the SD card does not appear there; I don't know if that's a bug or not). If I unmount the external drives and remount them, they still only appear in 'Other Locations'. I have to unmount them, remove them and plug them back in for them to appear in the sidebar. The attached shows nautilus with 3 drives plugged in. The SD card appears in the sidebar, but the USB drives (a btrfs and another with a btrfs and a ntfs partition) only are in 'Other Locations'.
